September 29,2013 - DVC Member Cruise

JQ & PI: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Awww, Paula, so sorry to hear you're off the cruise. Hopfully we'll have a chance to meet in DCL cruiseland someday. It is such a shame that DCL "DID" this to us. Kind of shines a new light on their practices. We used to say to the kids (when they shyed away from certain rides) "Now, would Disney ever do anything to hurt you?" They'd say "no" and then they'd go ahead. Good thing they are adults now, because I couldn't honestly use that phrase on them anymore.:sad2:

OH, and we STILL have not heard word one from DCL.

Thanks for your reply. You are right! It is such a shame. We said to them where is the pixie dust in any of this! We have spoken to a nice lady now at shore services who was nicer. However which ever way you dice it all our plans have changed :-(

Hope we do meet! You sound really nice!

I feel your timing is in very poor taste. The facebook group appears to be yourself and two friends you solicitied. I'm not clear on what your purpose is but you are disregarding everyone on this cruise right now, including those us who are members. This is not appreciated. At the very least you should have waited.

That's not the Facebook group page I was talking about. That was made after the fact. If I was disregarding anyone I would not have even mentioned this or taken the time to apologize for the misunderstanding. I understand your upset but I will not take the time to argue in a public forum. As I said you can join the discussion or not. No offense taken either way :thumbsup2

It's a members' cruise with no passengers other than my group right now. So welcome to "our" cruise! The only offense taken is by current "members" already booked on it. We are well aware of DVC policy regarding these situations, so if you do decide to book...Welcome aboard! :thumbsup2

I guess the proper address should be "Welcome Home" ... Lol :)

Hi

Me and DW are now off this cruise. Not a very nice experience with DCL quite upset about it actually. We were so looking forward to meeting you all. Thanks for everybody's help. We all were so excited such a shame. Paula

We were looking forward to meeting you too. Doesn't sound like you were given the proper treatment. considering your plans. This whole thing is a mess.

Is anyone else a little upset that they are sending out flyers in the mail about the member cruise which obviously had to be printed up at least a week or so ago, and with design time probably about 2-3 weeks in the works. That means it was done that long ago. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know.

Right, they were obviously printed a couple weeks ago, but I'm guessing they were designed absent the sail date. If you look closely, you'll only see the dates noted in one area. This could easily have been inserted right before final print.

Really glad you got the cabins you needed and your friend can now finally proceed with her wedding plans. Thankfully you were able to regroup. Do they allow only one wedding per sail?

How kind. Thank you for your interest! Well I have multiple health issues and to cut a long story short DW and I had decided to do something special next year. So we booked two cruises almost back to back. One on the 22nd September for 4 nights then a slight break at our home resort at SSR then this cruise on the 29th September. For medical reasons I cannot do the 7 night cruises so this worked for us. Now of course those plans have been ruined! We are still doing the first cruise on the dream on the 22nd because we have already booked our flights, hire car etc. but now we have a four day hole we have had to rebook SSR using more DVC points at our expense and only one cruise and it is my birthday on october 1st. So we arent happy. We have been removed from the cruise and given a cruise some date in the future which we can move to when we like but that doesnt really work for us as we have to book more flights as we live in the UK.

What you going to do?

First, I am sorry for your health issues. It sucks that your plans have been ruined. Well we are doing what I have been saying all along. We are now going to AKL 10/2-10/6. Then the Dream 10/6-10/10 for the wedding. Then back to AKL 10/10-10/16.

That sounds nice. We like AKL :-)

It is a really nice resort and its got one of our must eats, Boma. It's our Home resort as well, as a matter of fact just the other day I book a week in Feb/Mar three days ago. We picked it because of its relatively low cost per point per night when we normally do a bulk of our travels.

Yes DW and I went to Bomas and thought it was amazing. I loved the little zebra cake things! We quite often just visit AKL to hang around. We like the atmosphere and the shop there. Our home resort is SSR which we love. Its great for me as I am disabled, got zero entry pools and very flat. I have auto immune disease which attacks joints, digestion and eyes ( nice lol ) so AKL is a bit dark for me. I keep falling over as I cant see properly when my eyes are bad! But if it wasnt for that we would def get points there.

We booked for May 2013 but because we now have to use dvc points for the awol cruise in september we had to pay to stay at ASMo! Instead of SSR! DCL have managed to affect two holidays!

Where do you live?

We live in Los Angeles. Wow it's really interesting how my plans really was like no biggie to change, and yours were a huge deal. I am not making light out if it, just interesting how the world works. Truly shows how every situation is different for everyone. Another reason for AKL is the fact I work for a airline so we can go at a whim if we wanted. Since the resort is large with the addition of Kadani, and it's low point per night cost, it was a perfect fit for us to stench our points. I mean I have 17 nights booked for 2013, still have 22 points left and I had to borrow 13 points for our trip this year.

Cool re LA. Me and DW went there and really enjoyed it. The Paul Ghetty museum was amazing. That is really good value re AKL. It is funny isnt it how this charter has impacted different people. I bet there are some who are even worse off we dont know about!

Your right. There are probably people in way worse shape than us.

Yes. We are coming over in May also staying at ASMo. Really looking forward to it. Run out of dvc points! Is it a nice job working for an airline? You work at LAX?

Yes I work at LAX. It's fun working for a airline. I get to fly l the time. I like flying, so that's cool.
