Three (3) New Cruise Industry Safety Policies

Glad to see that good changes are coming! Thought maybe next time they should be anticipated, but the safety of cruise ships is always increasing. pirate:

In reality that is nothing that the responsible cruise lines already do.

One would expect this to be the case, but unfortunately the Concordia didn't do these things... That's a carnival corp issue... Meaning many cruise lines... Often these things have to be spelled out... And most cruise line keep some life jackets at the boarding areas but not all of them have enough for everyone.

I think "responsible" cruise lines strive to follow the rules and regulations. You can't say a company is irresponsible if it has only met and not gone beyond the standards set for it. There are hundreds if not thousands of regulations for a cruise ship. Which ones should they go beyond to make them a "responsible cruise line"?

If you use one of the items in the article, DCL would not be a "responsible cruise line" as they do not have enough life vests at the muster stations for everyone.
