Rental cars....is this even a possibility?

We are staying at the Poly, so getting too and from Epcot and MK won't be an issue, but I remember last year when it was relatively slow, we waited for busses for up to 30 minutes and then they crammed people in to the point that my 3 year old could not even stand next to me because adults kept stepping on her or knocking her into me and I had to actually hold her, while standing and trying to keep control over her stroller all the way to DTD, AK and HS....exhausting.

My issue is that my Mother had a stroke about a year-ish ago, and while she refuses to use a scooter, and does not in any way look disabled (aside from being a little older....mid 60's), I have a feeling that standing all the way to the 3 above mentioned areas might be an issue, even if she doesn't complain about it.....and after last trip I've given up on the kindness of other to allow her to sit in a seat....

Long story short, will a rental car agency actually drop off a car to you at your resort and then pickmit up 2 days later?

If so, are there any affordable places to do so?

The places I've checked are running over $100 for the 2-ish days for just the smallest car option.

Thanks for any help anyone might be able to give me.

BTW, the days would be late Tuesday evening/early Wed morning thru early afternoon on Friday. So the great weekend deals are out....

Nobody will drop off/pick up a rental car. National and Alamo at the Car Care Center will send a shuttle to pick you up and take you to the rental office to complete the transaction, and to return you to your hotel when you return the car as long as it's during their operating hours. Other companies with other locations might do the same.

Or you could take taxis.

Or you could wait for a bus with seats.

Are you aware that buses to both AK and DHS use the TTC as well??? The number of guests boarding there is much, much smaller than at the Polynesian. It would mean walking over to the TTC but it's a nice walk...under 10 mins. The buses leave from the far side of the TTC, walk past the monorail area, past the gift shop and over to the bus lot behind that building (that the gift shop is in).

Dollar.com has a special promotion (City Rate) that dropped the price dramatically for my rental in February. Pickup and dropoff at the airport.

That is a great idea....
I never thought of that as we only used the TTC once on our last trip and it ended up being a "semi-private" bus ride (just us and another family of 3 directly from TTC to HS for an early morning breakfast after we were both told the busses were running earlier, but they were not...

That is definitely a great idea!

Thanks for the reminder!

And then if lines for the busses are crazy on the way back, I can always put Mom and my daughter in a taxi on the way back.
(You can get a taxi from HS, AK and DTD correct?)
