I had a good cry while on my way home from work today.
While at work, I had the pleasure of waiting on many of America's finest men and women, most were members of our armed forces, a couple were local law enforcement and one firefighter.
I literally talked to people who fought in WW II, and right up thru all the other USA fighting engagement to date. The only concern these folk had and have is to protect the family, and the people of this great nation.
I heard stories, happy and very sad. We must never forget he loss of life, the loss of friends, the loss of family, the sacrifices these finest of people made for all of us .

I want to say thank to all of them,
Frank

I often find myself looking for the "like" button on the Disboards!

Well said, Frank.

We can never say thank you enough.

My DH is a Viet Nam vet from the *thankless* war! :headache: It broke our hearts after all they went through the way they were received back to the USA.
And the traitor, "Hanoi Jane", just don't get me started  He doesn't speak of it at all, we don't talk about it to others, but it still hurts!

Thanks Frank!

Thanks to ALL who have served our country now and in the past. North of Mouse, please extend a special thanks to your DH..we all owe them our gratitude!

Well said Frank.

Freedom is not "free".

It comes from the men and women we honor today.

My DH and I are proud to have served our great country in the United States Navy. We each retired with 22 years of service. Our DS carried on the tradition and served for 10 years (our DD thought about it, but in the end became a nurse instead). Being a military family with one parent serving is hard, but being a dual military family comes with special challenges. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people along the way that made it possible for us to serve. It wasn't always easy, but it was very rewarding.
