Does anyone know if they released the date yet, and if so, when it is? Thanks in advance!!

The Wine & Dine Weekend is November 8-9, 2013, with the race being on the 9th. :)

It still can change though, so dont set those dates in stone just yet. In moved last year (to accommodated the ToT).

What's your source for this? I ask because RunDisney responded to me via e-mail a few days ago saying the weekend hasn't been chosen yet and a lot of things could change based on the ToT surveys and the way this year's WaD goes.

Its on the wine and dine half program guide for this year. (available on runners info tab on the wine and dine part of rundisney website).

As Figment said, it is on the Wine & Dine Half program, as well as the final race instructions (both of which are on the runDisney site). They have been available for about a week and a half now.

Yes, the dates could change as this year's W&D changed to November to accommodate the ToT (as Raenstoirm pointed out). But as of right now, those are the official dates according to runDisney.

I was familiar with those products, but the absoluteness of the previous post's statement made me think there might have been a better source (someone on the inside, etc). As stated the printed products have been wrong for a few years in a row now. Certainly worth adding the standard disclaimer of potential change to any post suggesting the timing of races a year away. :thumbsup2

The disclaimer is up to runDisney. I simply posted exactly what they stated. It's not my job to make sure all their bases are covered. Not sure why this is being made into a big deal. A question about the dates was asked and I gave the answer runDisney has given (as you said they told you the date hadn't been chosen when it had been by the time you posted). I mean if you want to caution people about it, that's fine...but all I did was say what they said. :confused3

It is important for us to add the disclaimer that the dates could change because someone who isn't as familiar with RunDisney as we are could take those dates as certain since most race organizers don't change their dates after they are published. It would be irresponsible for us to post the dates for the race without also posting that disclaimer ourselves.

OP, I would take those dates as provisional for now and not book anything that can't be changed without a penalty like airline tickets. After they review the way this years fall races went they very well might decide to change things up a bit, more so then they do for longer established races like marathon weekend in January.

Oh good grief. I answered a question with the answer that runDisney gave...and now there is so much fuss over it. Which is interesting considering one of the people who gave a fuss also contacted runDisney about the dates...

OP asked about the dates.
I answered with what runDisney provided.
My answer is questioned because supposedly runDisney emailed someone saying the dates hadn't been chosen so my "sources" were requested.
Sources given, which was runDisney.
Not good enough, so now I am being called irresponsible for now not providing a disclaimer.

Seriously? We're really going down such an immature route? ALL I did was give an answer. All anyone who is having such an issue with this was provide their own disclaimer. But try to act a little more respectable instead of getting on me for providing the answer runDisney gave. If you don't like the answer I gave, so be it. But that's no reason to start acting this way. :rolleyes2

I know this is Waaaayyyy out there, but any idea on when they open up registration for these races? How far in advance? How quickly does something like WnD sell out?

Thanks!

SnellDog, April or Early May. Just depends on when runDisney pulls the switch.

Is this really worth getting aggravated about? Disney changed their minds with the Wine & Dine and brought the Tower of Terror well after announcing the date for this year. It created a huge backlash, and so naturally everyone is a bit nervous about accepting any of the information Disney gives. No one was attacking you, just apprehensive based on that experience. Let's hope that Disney doesn't change dates like they did again, people plan pretty far in advance to go to these races. Perhaps you are just tired from last nights run...I think most of us are!

Thank you, cewait. My next question is this: Will a late april/early may registration give me plenty of time to plan for the trip and the stay? This will be my first Disney race. And, only my 2nd trip to Disney overall. We would like to stay at Art of Animation, even though it doesn't appear to be in line to be a host resort. Also, I've read something about discounts if you register for the race as part of your package. Is THIS true? Is it smart? How will I save money the best, and have a great stay, and a great race experience. In general... HELP! :)

I too am interested because I want to use miles to book our flights and with a teacher hubby I need to book as early as possible to accommodate his limited availability.
