I have seen that DCL offers a beer tasting on the Dream. Does anyone recall what beers were offered previously?

thanks!

They vary slightly. We did it on the magic. Be forewarned, if you are a beer person-there is nothing totally new....no craft beers or anything like that. It's usually what they have on tap and maybe one or two bottled. We are beer folks, and had to actually correct the guy on a couple things. Well, we didn't HAVE to, but he was giving incorrect information.
Sorry I don't have specifics as we didn't do it on the dream.

All that said, it was still a nice little activity to participate in.

I did the beer tasting on the Oct 20th Fantasy sailing.

Wasn't very impressed, and I won't be doing it again on subsequent cruises.

The guy doing the beer tasting was a salesmen for MillerCoors. We had Coors Light, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Fosters and Grolsch.

Guess I had too high of expectations for what they were going to offer but maybe thats just me :)

Ours was a bit better than that. That is just horrible :(

You will not get any really interesting beers at the tasting on the ships.

Beer tastings that include Coors Light and Bud Light and Miller Light shouldn't count as beer tastings.

It is fun if you like beer in general and want to have a little party, but it is NOT recommended for beer snobs.

Thanks for the responses. I was hoping for different tastings of Sam Adams.

DH did the beer tasting on the Magic in May and passed on the tasting on the Dream in October. He is kind of a beer snob and there was nothing new for him. In fact, we had a better beer tasting at the Marriott Harbor Lake post cruise. Six new beers for him to put into his "untapped" app!

Wow! Guess we'll be crossing THAT activity off the list.

I did the beer tasting on the Magic back in May. IIRC, the beers were Stella Artois, Sam Adams, Newcastle, Red Stripe and Bass Ale. I also think there was a sixth beer that I am forgetting. I thought it was an ok time. Got to meet a few nice people and it gave me a break from the kids for an hour or so.

Totally off-topic, but go tour the Sam Adams brewery in Boston. That is a great beer tasting!

I might still do this because at least it's a break from the kids. Guess it depends on the cost vs how much it would cost to just drink in a bar for that hour. (-:

Well, I don't know what beers they had, but here's a picture of the set-up for the beer tasting on our recent Wonder cruise:

The CEOs of Coors, Miller, Anheuser-Busch and Samuel Adams are having lunch together. The waiter comes around to take their drink orders. The CEO of Coors orders a Coors Light, the CEO of Miller orders a Miller Lite, and the CEO of Anheuser-Busch orders a Bud Light. The CEO of Sam Adams glances around the table and orders a Coke. The other CEOs are stunned and ask him why he ordered a Coke. His retort? "Well, if you guys aren't going to drink beer, neither am I.

Love it! :)

If you want good beer before or after the cruise, stop by a World of Beer location. There are a few around Orlando. Even one in Miami now. There is one 30 mins from the port in Viera. They always have 30 something on tap and over 500 in bottle. You can even take bottles to go and bring them on the ship. M-F $1 off drafts before 7pm. We live close to the Viera location, we go all the time. They are constantly rotating their supply. Ive found lots of new favorite styles this way.
