11/17/12 It's a Magical TEXAS Thanksgiving with the Mouse!

Random deliveries works for me!

Another question - since we will be on the ship the day after Thanksgiving, do you think there will be any Christmas decorations out on Friday? I would love to get Christmas pics while on board!

And another - are we planning a meet? If it was posted earlier, I've missed it.

Thanks!

This will be our third Thanksgiving cruise, and the Christmas decorations have always been up when we boarded on the previous cruises. I don't think the characters had their Christmas outfits on, but Mickey and Minnie should be wearing their Thanksgiving outfits on Thanksgiving day (see the last picture below). :yay:

I have a question about the character breakfast.

Is everyone automatically signed up for a character breakfast? Or is this like the Alice Tea Party where you have to get tickets for it?

My only experience is on NCL we had breakfast with Nick Jr. characters, but it was something you had to make reservations for. Wasn't sure how DCL works since I would imagine it would be in higher demand.

The Disney dailies from other Galveston cruises are showing Thursday would be the Captains Gala. On other Thanksgiving cruises you have been on, do they change this to another night for Thanksgiving, and have Thanksgiving be a more traditional meal?

Thank you for the decoration confirmation. I am really looking forward to finally seeing them in person. The pics always look amazing.

This is something you're automatically assigned.

I'll have to see if I can dig up my old Navigators. They do have a Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving day. I think they wound up just skipping one of the menus and replacing it with the Thanksgiving menu. We were on the Dream for Thanksgiving last year. My last 7-night cruise over Thanksgiving was on the Magic in 2009, but if I can find the Navigators, I'll let you know for sure what they did.

Ok, on our last cruise we met at like 2 or 3 in the afternoon on the first day to have a get acquainted meeting, let the kids meet, etc. Would people want to do that?

IF so what time do you think would work best? 3:00? One time we met at the kids pool and one time we met in the Promenade Lounge. The Lounge seemed to work better, wasn't as crowded.

Ideas??

I called up DCL today to check something vitally important for our cruise...
Which movies are available on our cruise
;)
Okay not vitally important...but still
Movies available on our cruise-
Toy Story 3
Tangled
Chimpanzee
Avengers
People Like Us
Odd Life of Timothy Green
Brave
Frankenweenie
Wreck It Ralph
Lincoln

As always she stressed that these are "subject to change". What with Disney buying Star Wars, one can only hope we might get to see those on the ships some day...
Dare to dream.

Thank you. In my head I know it won't matter we will just go with the flow. But the OCD planner in me wants to update my spreadsheet and not feel lost on board.

Personally we are open to whatever everyone wants. 1st DCL cruise so I'm not sure how timing works, or our way around the ship yet - but we will certainly give anything a try.

Oh that is wonderful! My DDs have wanted to see Odd Life of Timothy Green, and I'm sure they will love getting to see Brave again! Thank you for checking.

we have been on past thanksgiving cruises and there has been a specific menu for that evening that was the same for all the dining rooms. Thursday has, by past Navigators, been captains gala so I think our theme nights will switch around a little. We are concierge and have gotten mixed responses from shoreside. Now that it is closer to the cruise date I will ask again.

I bummer for us...Due to some work changes we had to cancel this cruise. I know you all are going to have a Magical time!! Wishing you all the best trip ever!!

Oh no. Cancelling has to be hard, but being so close has to be even rougher.

I am so sorry we are going to miss out on meeting you. I hope you are able to rebook for something soon that works with his schedule.

Thanks :) It is a bummer, right now we are booked for March, 9th out of TX, I really would have like to go maybe NYE cruise but not sure that date would work either.:(

I can't wait to hear how it goes for everyone.

Hi all,

Me and my DD were planning to take this cruise with my brother and his family. However, their baby is having too many ear infections and the ENT told them not to take her out of the country. So, they've had to cancel and it will just be me and my princess for Thanksgiving week.

How does the seating work for dinner? Now that its just 2 of us I figure we will be seated with another family. Is that true?

Thanks bunches!

Anybody can be seated with others, or by themselves. As this is a pretty full sailing and the smallest tables seat 4, it's likely that you'll have company, but not guaranteed.

:scared: I have got to start packing. This is going to be here before we know it. On a good note, I have one big and one small Christmas tree up...2 more big ones and 3 small ones to go. My goal is to have my house Christmas ready prior to leaving so I have the entire month of Dec. to enjoy them. :santa:
