...Hoping I can do a better job keeping up in November. The main thing on my plate is a Casino Night I am running for the middle school on Nov 17.

Dee,

Thank you for all the work you do on this thread. Not to snub any of the other resort threads but.... This is the BEST resort thread on the DIS!!!

Awesome work!!!

Dee, we are so grateful for all you do! It's quite simply an AMAZING job!! No worries that you may be a little slow because of things going on at home and you are not your usual, super prompt self. Your efforts are very much appreciated and we want you to know that you are worth any wait.

ditto!

Would anyone who has just arrived like some grocery goodies? We have a case of lacroix, some fruit, unopened English muffins and juices...hate to toss them!!

Dee - I'm always amazed at how much you do!

This is THE BEST thread on the Dis!

Have fun with your casino night - we did one last year and had a ball.
November 17 is our "Designer Bag Bingo" this year. We're trying something new - hope it works out as well as the casino night. Good luck!

We had a fabulous trip! Sadly we r on our way to the airport. Just talked to Teena for awhile. Hi Teena :) Dh says the drawing classes were his favorite. I also enjoyed them. I will give a bit more detailed report a little later but for those wondering our room was great and mouse keeping did a fantastic job

We got back late Friday night from probably our most memorable trip ever. We stayed on DVC points the first two nights at Jambo House and moved to Club Level at the Yacht Club on 10/30. When we checked in, the front desk CM pulled up our reservation and said "Oh, we have some serious magic happening today."

The next thing we knew, a bunch of CMs came out from the back with balloons a a certificate naming us family of the day. The front desk agent handed us off to a different CM who then brought us up to the 5th floor. She led us past the lounge and down two hallways until we reached a small hallway with only two room doors in it. They had upgraded us to the Commodore's Suite. It was AMAZING. Two bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a living room with an amazing view of Stormalong Bay and the Boardwalk. We could not believe it.

This trip was to celebrate the end of a terrible year for my mom who was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2011. She spent all of the past year undergoing testing, surgery or chemo. She is currently cancer free and I planned this trip as a way to celebrate that and give us all some time to really relax. I never imagined anything as magical as what we experienced. It was truly wonderful and I am so grateful.

I have not uploaded any photos to my computer yet but I will try to post some soon.

So so so happy for you and your Mom. Glad your Mom is getting some special treatment after such a tough year.

This! Thank you Dee :goodvibes

Huntington Beach looked beautiful! Im surprised you don't like DL! I haven't been in years, like over 25 yrs!!! But would love to go back. My wdw partner in crime lives in LA, and one day I'm going to go there so we can tour DL together. Funny we're both on the west coast, and yet always meet up in Wdw :) I want to see Cars Land, and go on the DL version of Space Mtn! And go on POTC, and eat in the Blue Bayou ::yes:: have it all planned out, :rotfl:

Well, you certainly have it all planned out! :rotfl2: But you forgot to mention Small World

So happy you got extra magic this trip! Sounds like your entire family, especially your mom deserved it!

Hey everyone- thanks for all of your nice words of encouragement! I really appreciate it!

Hello...I'm new to this thread but am definitely a WDW vet! :wave2:

We are Deluxe addicts, and want to check out the YC in the spring. We stayed years ago at BC, but didn't realize then the full extent of our addiction! :rotfl:

I'll be reading on this thread and getting ideas on any requests I might want to make for my sister and me, so we can have the full YC experience.:thumbsup2

I was particularly interested in someone's comment re: refilling the mug and having a longer walk to do so. I am a big coffee drinker and NEED my morning cuppa joe..exactly where is the Hurricane Hannah's that was mentioned to have a refill station?

:welcome:

Let us know when you and your sister have booked a trip.

:cool1:

Hurricane Hanna's is the quick serve restaurant and bar located at the Stormalong Bay pool. It is currently closed for refurbishment but I believe it is scheduled to open sometime in December.

In the morning, you can get your coffee at the Ale and Compass lounge in the YC lobby. Reportedly "Real Coffee!" In the morning, this area serves a continental breakfast.

According to what others have reported, you can only use this lounge to refill your mugs until about noon, when the A&C switches over to a bar.

Would love to be added to the "Be Our Guest List"
This will be our first stay at the Yacht Club!!!! cannot wait to be so close to Epcot :cool1: We usually stay at Contemporary and love being close to Magic Kingdom so this will be change.
Our dates are July 11, 2013 to July 19th. We will be celebrating our daughters 24th birthday while we are there :wizard:

:welcome:

I will add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Great dates! My family loves that second week in July.

Can't wait to hear how you like being so close to EPCOT.

I'm so glad to hear you had a great trip!!!

That's fantastic! What a great surprise and hopefully an indication of better times ahead for your family.

As Dee said, the Ale and Compass in the lobby is a really good option in the morning for a pre-park breakfast and for a morning coffee. The coffee is great ;) Refillable mugs; coffee, tea, soda. Breakfast; muffins, pastries, fruit, toast etc from 6am until noon.

If you're on the dining plan you can get a refillable coffee and pastry for a snack credit.

I would love it if anyone can help. We are planning our next trip to disney in oct 2013. I have been a lurker for some time and have read threw most of the thread on BC/YC. A while back someone had posted a pic of the "bountiful breakfast" being offered at The market place. Is it true or did I misunderstand the post. And was it a pic of breakfast at cape may. Eggs & Mickey waffles would be great for the kids.

Ok fine! Small World too :rotfl: is it different?

My recollection is that @ DL Small world during the holidays the children sing Christmas carols. It has been awhile since I've been to DL but I liked that seasonal touch.

Yes they have a breakfast platter at the Marketplace. That's a quick service restaurant (grab and go). Cape May is a character buffet ... very expensive ... you are basically paying for the character interaction. The Captain's Grill has a sit down table service breakfast ... either order off the menu or buffet but it's cheaper because there are no characters.
