AMC dine-in theater? Anyone been there?

I'm thinking of dropping one of our ADR's (we pay OOP so it's not an issue) to do this instead. We had a dine-in movie theater in my town growing up and I have fond memories of it. Plus, we very rarely ever go to the movie theater, so it would be something different to do for my teens.

Just wondering if you've gone, what your experience was like. Did you have to get there way early to get tickets?

We are avid movie goers, even at Disney! It's a lovely break from the heat and the parks. The addition of the dine in part makes it fun and really tasty. We've been twice now, we had smoked brisket quesadillas, Thai shrimp tacos, the Swiss burger, and a chicken sandwich on a brioche w/ aioli. They also have these home made chips that they serve along side. A full bar, with a nice asst. of beers as well as sodas, and dessert!

Both times we arrived about 20 minutes before the movie started, no lines, no wait. I don't think people have really discovered it yet. Some people just came to the lobby to eat, you can eat at the bar or at the few tables they have scattered around! We ate while watching the movie!

We give it a thumbs up!

NOTE: Dine-In movies have been around for a while. They haven't had
much change. As with most others. AMC at Downtown Disney does have
average-to-above-average food quality. As a reference, think of a Chili's or
Applebee's in comparison. The Wings are quite tasty, as is the Crab Rangoon
Dip. The food is slightly high priced, but one would expect this in such an
environment. Some may not feel it, but I thought the waiters did disturb
the viewing. They are not noisy, but the walking is definitely a distraction.
At home someone getting up for eats is OK, but when paying a high price
for a movie, it does get on the nerves a little.

I can't speak about the food, all we had were shakes. But i thought the whole experience was distracting. The servers were in your view taking orders and delivering food. People talking and dishes clanking. Nobody seemed to be watching the movie.

Thanks for the replies! I am a little concerned about the noise factor, but the uniqueness of dining in a movie theater would probably override that for my kids. Is the volume loud enough on the movie to concentrate on it?

Also good to hear the food is okay. I looked at the menu and the prices seem good (certainly cheaper than the ADR we might cancel).

Can you eat or grab a drink if you are not gonna go to a movie? I don't know if we would go all the way there just to eat but I was wondering! ;)

We have gone a bunch of times, every time we go to wdw anymore. We all love it. The food has all been good. We go about 20 mi early, buy our tickets, look at the menu and order. So you are eating during preveiws or the start of film. We haven't found the servers a problem at all. I usually tell them up front to make sure about extra drink refills and the ck.

I think you can get drinks at the bar and eat in the lobby without seing a movie.

Good to know. Just in case! Thx

I've been twice and I will never go to another theater again. If you purchase your tickets online you can pick your seats ahead of time. I recommend sitting in the middle because the wait staff is up and down the isle a lot and it can be somewhat distracting. But the seats are super awesome so it makes for a great experience.

I've not noticed it to be too noisy, no more so than any other movie theater.

The food is ahhhhhh, it's ok. It's nothing to rave about, but it's decent and priced fair. However, WARNING!!! a soda or a pop (whatever you call it) I believe is like $4.99  we only made that mistake once!
