Very Interesting NEW Article about Avatar coming to DAK

I doubt it.

Star wars wouldn't fit in Animal Kingdom at all.

That being said, while this deal surprises the hell outa me (Lucas, give up control?!), I wouldn't be shocked if maybe all those rumors of Carsland in Florida at MGM might have been triggered by some prep work and ideas for the Star Wars Land everyone has been wanting. Disney has been denying that Carsland would come to Florida, and even mentioned that the recent transfer/promotion of the Carsland Imagineer to the Florida property was not at all related to the idea of bringing Carsland to Florida.

During our recent vacation, a very helpful CM told me that they have several research labs working on this project. What they have achieved is astounding, firstly they have developed the means of creating the withdrawing plants that appear in the film via the use of current.

They found that when people touched the plants that they were passing a current through, it caused the plants to spasm and close. Not only that they have bamboo that will resonate different sounds along it's joints when touched.

Roll on 2016 when Pandora will be a reality.

I think the Lucasfilm acquisition may bode well for an exanded Star Wars land in DHS, but I am really hoping that it doesn't affect the Pandora land in AK.

Same here

I am hoping Avatar Land at AK

and then at Hollywood studios an expanded Star Wars Land

I am hoping they convert the building nearby ( sound dangerous ? with Drew Carey ??) to a Star Wars themed restraurant ( the cantina from episode 4 ) and then next to/behind Star Tours expand the area into another ride or two plus whatever to make a star wars Land

Then also take out Lights motor action stunt show and give us Cars Land

It would be a major overhaul of the park but would make it an instant popular choice for my family

I'm not sure there is room behind star tours to expand the park out

Your probably right, I have no idea what is behind that wall on the street next to it ( between Star Tours and Indy, I think , right ? ) I havent been to the park in 5 years ( its the one we skip every year because its the only boring disney park in the world for us now )

Oh well. If nothing else, I suppose Avatarland will at least get me to watch the movie. I get that it's a fantasicalish land, but I'd still rather have my dragons and unicorns. :figment: But, any expansion that's not all thrill rides will be enjoyable for me. ;) (Still want my dragons and unicorns, though :sad1:)

My idea is to take that whole section of the park and convert it into Star Wars land -- complete with area theming. The current IJ stunt show can be replaced with a similar SW show, Sounds Dangerous becomes a Jedi Training center with Yoda (possibly using the "Turtle Talk" technology), Backlot Express is redone as the Cantina, Star Tours stays, of course, and possibly push back past the Cantina into current backstage area to get some kind of E-ticket attraction in there. All of that, minus the E-ticket, is mostly a matter of renovating existing space and layout, and shouldn't take too long to do.

I am hoping for the same

making 2015 the opening of the movie AND Star Wars Land a real possibility

Yeah, spring 2015 should be realistic if it's mostly renovation of existing space and infrastructure. A planned E-ticket can be announced alongside the land opening, scheduled for completion in 2017, in time to launch with Star Wars VIII.
