We spent hurricane Jeanne at WDW. On Monday morning we got the "all clear" telling us that we were allowed to leave our rooms. I got up at 6am to do laundry (believing that I was being picked up at 9 for my cruise.....NOT). OK, on the way to the laundry room there were large tree limbs, the pool was covered in debris, etc. When I came out after doing a load of wash+dry (maybe 90 minutes), the pool was sparkling and ALL the limbs were gone from "public" areas. The wooded areas were still a mess, but anywhere a guest would logically walk was pristine.
We were told that WDW had moved many off duty CMs into the all star resorts, both for their safety and so that they would be available to begin clean up as soon as the weather permitted.
Also, we lost our air conditioner when a tree fell on the unit. I reported it, fully understanding that no one could come to check on it. They came out about 10 pm on Sunday with a huge searchlight thing and did the repair. This was after the storm seemed to have passed but before they allowed guests out of rooms.
I do realize that life is different on the ship, but these people are amazing!
