What suggestions would you give Disney for Concierge Guests on the ship

We just got back from a 7 night cruise in our concierge suite, this was our first cruise so we decided to splurge a little..loved it!

The few things I would suggest to Disney to provide to concierge guests is a list of what you will get being concierge! We did have a meet and greet when we arrived on the ship, with drinks, food, music and more in a private event, but I would suggest they also do a few other things! Perhaps we just didn't ask enough questions...

1. Have a special concierge section for events that are going on, parties, seats for the shows etc. We paid quite a bit more for our room than a majority of the other people so this would be a little nice touch!

2. A few more special character meet and greets, there was one with Donald in a tux for us, but a few more would be a nice touch and not really cost Disney anything..

Anyone else? We are just getting back and I am NOT complaining our service was top notch, our concierge hosts were AWESOME and we had a great time..but thought a few ideas from others who have had concierge service would be interesting!

Free laundry and ironing service.... I don't like doing it on (or a mammoth amount after) vacation! Come on, hear me!!!

Or at least a laundry allowance. I can see how some people could really take advantage of this if it were unlimited. But in the same way you get 100 "free" minutes of internet, they might offer $100 of laundry/dry cleaning services comped.

Honestly, the improvements in concierge services on the new ships are huge already....but perhaps they should let you know what you CAN get. For instance, the golf cart ride to the beach on Castaway--did you know about that? The priority tenders? There are a lot of things that some concierge level guests may not be aware of.

Rather than extra scheduled meet and greets, it would be easy for a character to appear in the lounge from time to time. That's always kind of magical when not expected.

What at least one other line gives--unpack/repack service, "Persian Garden" (rainforest) pass......

reserved seating in the theater for the main shows.
RCCL provides that for its suite guests and disney should match that.

We were just on a 4 night on the disney dream.

I was with my mom and sister, who both have mobility issues (my sister has 3 different primary cancers). In addition, my mother is going blind, so really needs to be close to the front to have a chance of seeing anything.
I told the concierge hosts about the problem and they told me to be at the theater 5 minutes before the door opened and tell the person at the door to let us in so that we could find seats before the mad rush.

well, there was no person at the door and we were nearly trampled in the rush for seats.
a second concierge host asked me about it the next day, and i told him, but no serious solution was offered.

we were in a one bedroom and paid a LOT of money for that room.

It was a simple request that was not solved. That was our one and only complaint on the comment card, but for us a major disappointment (since they had made it seem as if they would help, but then didn't help us at all).

don't get me wrong, we loved the cruise and loved concierge, but i still feel that the product is overpriced for what was provided.

I agree with what has alteady been stated.

My big things would include (some already stated):

- reserved seating at the shows, costs Disney nothing but makes a huge impact for the concierge guests.

- included gratuity for concierge staff (back to the way it was). If somebody wants to tip for extraordinary service, the tip will be accepted and any money received will be donated to charity.

- split the character meet and greet for the concierge guests (I.e. have two events, one for even numbered cabins, the other for odd numbered cabins). There are just too many people there.

- complimentary shoe shine and pressing services. Not necessarily free laundry services, but the shoe shine and pressing should be.

I am sure I could think of some others, but point simply is that the experience could be vastly improved at minmal cost to DCL.

I do think the perks are only marginally worth the cost. If it were not for room size, I doubt we would book our cabin of choice.

About the 5th day of our trip (Oct. 13th saling), we found a little card in a box on bottom shelf of our bigger closet saying "put your shoes in the box" and put the box somewhere (forgot where) to have them shined. This was after formal night so did us no good at that point, but at least the service is offered, provided you can find the box!!!

My mother has mobility issues and with the difficulty getting an elevator with a scooter had trouble getting ha seats. Able bodied people should not take those. We got no help from concierge on this. Told us get there earlier. Help with seats would be a huge perk

I thought there was a handicap entrance on the lower level with no lines?

if there is then all the people on their scooters and in their wheelchairs weren't told either, as they were all in the regular line.

and concierge wasn't aware of it either...

There is on the Magic and Wonder--however, the "no lines" has me confused. The only way you can use this entrance is to go to the 4th floor, meet the CM who will take you down the elevator and thru some restricted hallways to the 3rd floor entrance. There is no "lining up" or anything else for this entrance. You go early because there are no HA seats. The entrance is there for people who can transfer from their wheelchairs, but there must be seats for them to transfer into. Obviously, these are prime seats, so if you aren't on e of the first there, forget it.

is this also true on the Dream?
they told us to go to the 3rd floor and ask the CM to let us in there.
but there were no CMs there - just a rope keeping everyone back.
we were there early every night and it was the same thing.
we got in line at 7:40 for the 8:30 show (the door opens at 8:00).
this meant that my mom and sister had to stand for 20 minutes in line while waiting for the door to open. And then try to carefully walk down the stairs of the theater without falling down with the mass of people racing down behind them. Not a good thing at all.

my mom didn't even go to believe on the last night because it was so difficult. She just threw in the towel.

As i've said, this was our only complaint on the cruise - but really quite a major one in my opinion. And the worst of it was the way the concierge staff handled it.

I wrote about it on the comment card, but i realize now that i should write a letter to concierge and to DCL about it. Saying how much we enjoyed everything but that. And just how badly i feel it was handled (or rather not handled).

I'm really surprised that DCL has not offered preferred theatre seating for concierge guests. It's something that could easily be done. They could either go with a reserved area for concierge guests or my favorite... have a concierge team member escort concierge guests into the theatre before the general public and let them choose their own seats. It's one of my favorite perks offered by NCL when we sail in their suites. :goodvibes It's nice not having to rush to wait in line for an hour before the show starts to get a decent seat.

One perk we would really enjoy would be reserved seating/viewing of the fireworks on deck. Fighting the large crowds on deck is a downer when you come directly from late seating dinner. Having a reserved area would be a fantastic option that wouldn't cost DCL anything.

I jsut came off the Fantasy Hurricane Spectacular Cruise and would definitely consider conceirge suite on our next cruise if they somehow let me avoid the crowds with priority seating, private elevators (i know, that's a dream), dining area, disembarking, etc.

Outside of the hurricane issues, already discussed here ad naseum, my primary complaint would be the crowds and inability to find pool spots, non-full elevators, good seats at theatre, etc.

This was my first cruise but if the disembarking process was anything like what I experience on The Fantasy, I doubt I'll ever cruise again. . .

Priority disembarkation is another thing they could offer that other cruise lines offer their concierge guest. When we cruised a line that offered it, we met the concierge in the lounge and they escorted us to a private staff elevator and took us down and off the ship. Very nice and once again avoiding the massive crowds.
