How Soon are Points Available?

My husband and I talked to our guide yesterday to purchase and add on of 50 points with a February use year. Our guide said that would be receiving points for this year as well as a new set in February with the option to bank this years points. We don't plan on traveling next year so we were thinking about taking a long weekend in early December with the 50 points that will expire this coming February since banking them would be pointless.
Can anyone tell me how soon these points will be available for me to book with? Do we have to wait for all the paperwork to be sent, send it back, wait for it to be processed?

if you are purchasing direct, it's very quickly. mine was the same day, actually checked online and points were loaded within an hour or two contacting my guide. if you have a problem seeing the points loaded, just call or email your guide if you are looking to make a reservation.

As soon as you pay your deposit the points that you purchased for this UY are available.

Hint - Have your Guide help you get the reservation at the DVC resort of your choice.

Not for add ons. Guides will only assist with making the guests 1st DVC reservation after the initial purchase. We added on 200 points and our Guide couldn't help us with a reservation. Telling the OP to have her guide help her make a ressie when she is only adding on 50 points is setting her up for disappointment.

But if she makes the sale contingent on getting a reservation, she might just get it.

Don't want to disappoint anyone but it can't hurt to ask. I also don't want to upset you but you will find that the only consistent thing at Disney is inconsistency.

We have had our Guides in the past help us with add-on point reservations, now this was a couple of years ago so maybe they no longer do this.
