I LOVE Comedians with Guitars......You didn't tell me that part...

Lisa told me to be sure to get a picture with the John Deeres and combines in it.

galveston13.jpg

This view alone might make my DH become interested in sailing from Galveston!! John Deere for him represents his "young days" - ahhhh:cloud9: (They look a lot like the toy tractors my kids played with!!)

I've never eaten duck, but I have heard it was fatty/greasy. I think I'll steer clear.

The descriptions of the food do sound yum. The lobster 3 cheese sounded the best. I can't wait to have some good Disney food.

And desert. :)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I am ready for Disney food too ...minus the duck. :rotfl:

Thanks for more great pics, Jen!

Duck should not be greasy if it is cooked correct - it can be very tasty. :thumbsup2 So I am sure yours was not cooked right. :sad2:
I had to :lmao: on some of your pics of the ship lit up, as they look just like mine! Only mine are from the DREAM. :rotfl2:
Lumiere's looks pretty too, even though you were not happy with your photos - looks like you have to cruise on the Magic again to get the "right" photos. ;)

I have heard that too about Duck. It's greasy, but if you cook it right, it is really good and not so greasy.
I do love seeing the ship lit up. The Dream is prettier though in that aspect. It might be because of the Aquaduck too.
I like the way you think. I would love to sail her again.
Skip was making some comment last night during the debate on TV and saying that "this" (whatever they were talking about) might make it so you can't take 2 trips a year ...and I thought, well I am taking 3 this year, but I sure wasn't going to correct him. :rotfl:

Too funny. I grew up around John Deeres too. Heck for many years i didn't even know there was another brand of tractor. :rotfl:

I made my way towards the Atrium.

Taking pictures along the way.

I really thought this was neat …in a strange way.

I made a potty stop and since I was alone in there, I took a few shots.

Most of the public bathrooms looked like this on the Magic. On the Dream I think every bathroom was different. I thought these were nice, but I liked having different ones on the Dream..

I headed towards the shops.

I ran into Brook and Carolyn in there.

They were going to head to deck 4 to take a walk so I joined them.

We went out to deck 4 and began our walking. I couldnt really go too fast because I had on girly sandals. If you know me, you know I have awful feet and they hurt with just about any shoe, but a few tennis shoes.

deck42.jpg

Deck 4 is just beautiful and peaceful. The Titanic deck as I refer to it.

This is also the running track deck. We went with the flow, and yes, there were some joggers out this night, and soon we came upon this at the front of the ship.

anchorroom1.jpg

We were so excited. We never knew this area existed. It was like a jackpot for a Disney Geek.
Who knew this room existed? I swear I have never seen pictures of it before anywhere either.
So I took a couple of shots of what I call the anchor room. The jogging path goes right through it.

After our geeky excitement of finding this hidden anchor room, that really isnt so hidden, we kept walking.

We found some portholes and took a look in. It was Animators Palates kitchen.

We walked and talked and it was just so nice. If you have cruised before you know the wonderful sound of the hum of the ship and the water sloshing around. I need a sound machine with that sound.

I mentioned that I wasnt sure how Lisa was enjoying the cruise. She isnt one to show lots of emotion and though I thought she was having a good time, I wasnt positive. There was an incident many years ago with Lisa when she traveled with someone else and she said it was awful. She would lock herself in the hotel bathroom and call her husband, trying to figure out a way to get home, or spend time without this other person. I was hoping she wasnt having these same sorts of feelings.

In case you are interested, here is the info on the distance for walking/jogging this deck.

It was time for me to head back in. I think Carolyn and Brook did too. I think it was just a little after 11 now.

I guess somewhere along the line I walked past the laundry room because those are my last pictures of the night.

I do believe Lisa was sleeping when I got back. I think she did wake up and tell me there was an irritating noise so she had turned the TV on to block it. And there was. We never figured out what it was, but it came from the ceiling right by the sliding door to the balcony. It kind of sounded like a bit of static or popping of some sort between the floors in the vents. It wasnt bad, but when sleeping it could be annoying at time.

I got ready for bed and worried I wouldnt sleep. I have such anxiety on vacation that sleeping is very hard for me. But I did drift off and was woke up by Lisa making her way to the bathroom and she had ran into my bed. LOL
The rest of the night was good until I rolled over against the wall my bed was against and hit the light switch on accident and we got a bright awakening then too. But I quickly turned them off and back to dream land we went
.

Just love all the pictures you have taken. I agree with you about the lighting on the Dream, just loved it.

Loving all of the pictures from your walk around the ship. The ones of the deck that you took remind me of the Titanic movie too.

How cool that you came upon what you call the "anchor room". I am one of those kind of geeks who like to see unusual stuff like that so I know that John and I would have loved to have stumbled upon a room like that. Really cool!

Totally agree! That would be awesome to see

I'm really bummed that they wouldn't let you take pictures during the show too, I loved the ones you took last year on the Dream!

That duck even looks yucky! Glad your other two entrees were good.

I can't believe Lisa had never had creme brulee! :scared1: That is like my favorite dessert.....EVER!

Love all your walking around pictures, made me feel like I was on that stroll with you :goodvibes

I am so excited about Cowboy Goofy. I am a big character geek so this is great news for me. It's a shame that your first dinner was a bit hit and miss. I love the Grand Marnier Souffle, but do not like the chocolate souffle at Palo at all. My favourite photo from those installment is that of Helmsman Mickey. It looks so artistic.

Corinna

I couldn't quite tell....are those scrapbooks just general DCL ones, or are they Magi/Galveston specific? In some earlier shots, it's looked like there were some Galveston-specific items. Can you remember what they were?

Thanks!

There is????:confused3
We even have a John Deere museum here in Israel!

We are more than just a bunch of really old holy sites!:cool1:

That is really kind of funny there is such a museum ...in Israel!

Thanks. Yes, the Dream is REALLY lit up and just gorgeous to see at night.

I really hated not taking pictures. Especially during the show Twice Charmed. That had some gorgeous costumes in it.

I only had Cream Brulee for the 1st time a few years ago. I like it, but I don't think I have had a really good one yet. Chocolate mousse wins out for me. :rotfl2:

Glad to know I am not the only one who thought the chocolate one was just ok.

I really don't remember at all. I think they are just DCL generic.
Glaveston stuff ...there was a hat, magnets, pins ....which I wish I know would've bought, but I was being too cheap ....2 tee shirts and postcards I think.

Enjoying your TR. Great photos! We'll be on the Magic in just over a month!

Cool! Good to know!

It was brought to my attention that for the Cream Brulee, I actually had a picture of the sea bass. I went and fixed it, but here it is for those who would like to see it.

I didnt keep very good notes, but I think I most likely woke around 6:30. I think Lisa was still sleeping so I got dressed and went out to get a drink.

I finally remembered to get a picture of our door as I headed out.

5130.jpg

I got a hot chocolate and a banana and sat down and to write a few notes in my notebook and talked to a few other early risers. The crew was busy at work.

After a good chat with some fellow passengers I headed back to the room.

And my plate.

While we sat and ate and chatted, we saw Brook and Carolyn come in. We didnt holler to them, so I dont think they ever saw us.

I think they are in this picture.

After we ate, we headed back to our room. Our plan was to go for a walk around deck 4.

I took a couple more quick pictures while we were there.
As I had said, I was warned that the Magic had some wear and tear. The balcony was where it shown most to me. It has rust spots and paint splatters. I am not sure if I took any other pictures of it later in the cruise. In this one you can see the paint splatters on the deck chair.

This is our cooling box in the room. It does NOT get very cold at all.

They have doughnuts for breakfast? No one told me this! (Or more likely, I forgot.) Oh my, I think I'll need to do some extra working out before I go.

Stinks that the beverage cooler isn't very cold. I like really cold drinks. Will the ice bucket fit in there?

Love, love, love your pics. I've been showing them to my dh. He likes to look at them, but he just told me that he doesn't "see the fascination.":confused3 I don't see how he doesn't see it. Just glad for this happy place where there are other people like me!:cloud9:

Your door looks very cute! My kids teased me about the magnets, but then loved them because it made our room easy to find :thumbsup2

Those chocolate doughnuts are a very dangerous thing to have on the buffet!

Yes. I think they are cripsy cream ones too. MMMM!

Men just don't get it do they?
