Hi All :wave2:

I am not new to Disney , but we have never cruised before and I am looking for some basic info and I/m hoping the DIS cruise experts can help .

We are thinking of combining a trip , so I think the 4 night Bahamian cruise leaving from Port Canaveral is what we are looking into .

What is included on the cruise ? How does the dinning work ? Are activities at Castaway Cay included ?

First of all I think you will love a Disney cruise. I will try to answer your questions.

What is included on the cruise ? Just about everything. Of course, your stateroom is included....also included are all meals in the dining rooms, at the fast food areas on the pool deck, and also room service (with a few exceptions). Also soft drinks, coffee, tea, etc., unless ordered from room service, at a bar, or from a deck server. You will pay extra for specialty coffees, smoothies, and alcohol.

How does the dinning work ? There are three dining rooms which you will rotate through during your cruise. Your servers stay the same and rotate with you. You will choose either Main Dining (5:30pm I think) or Late Dining (8:30pm). There are two specialty restaurants, Palo and Remy, for which you pay extra if you want to dine there.

Are activities at Castaway Cay included ? Lunch on Castaway Cay is included in your cruise price. Other activities have a fee, unless you just want to sit back and relax on the beach. That is free. But things like floats, bike rentals, etc. have a fee. Pelican Plunge, the water slide area, is free.

I hope that I have answered your questions, but if I left anything out, I'm sure another DISer will be glad to answer further.

Welcome! In addition to perusing the boards, guidebooks (passporters has a great one) are really helpful for getting the macro view! :thumbsup2

The only change I'd make to the above is that there are free activities on Castaway Cay. There are dances, crab races, volleyball, etc. which you can participate in at no charge. You can snorkel free if you bring your own equipment or you can rent DCL's equipment. And you can enjoy the beach, Pelican Plunge, and lunch at no cost. (as noted above).

The dining times on most of our recent cruises have been 5:45 and 8:15

You also need to plan $12.00 per person per day for tips, which are automatically charged to your account, tho you can adjust the amounts.

You'll need transportation from Disney World or the airport to/from the ship, which is $35. per person each way.

Onboard movies are free. Prepackaged snacks available near the theatre are extra.

Thanks for correcting me on the dining times. I couldn't remember for sure (but I close!).
