How does DCL split a cabana charge between two cabins?

We will be sailing with friends next year and plan to split a cabana. There are four people in each cabin so the charge will be $599 ($499 plus $100 for the extra two passengers beyond the six allowed). Assuming our reservations are linked, and assuming I make the reservation myself online, will the entire $599 charge go on my shipboard account or does DCL split the charge evenly between the two cabins or does my cabin have the $499 with the other cabin having the $100 overage?

Any actual experiences with this situation would be much appreciated.

We split a cabana with others two times. Both times we asked for the charges to be split. Both times when we got our bill the morning we left they did not split the charges. Instead of standing in line at guest services we just paid the other family.

Good luck I hope they are able to
Split the charges for you.

So, do I understand correctly that the entire charge was on the shipboard account of the person who made the reservation?

We split the cabana we had back in May with our friends. The cabana host asked us if we would like the charges to be split and he took care of that for us. You can let him know exactly how much you would like each cabin to be charged. Have a great time on your cruise and enjoy your cabana. Prepare to be hooked:goodvibes

We booked two cabana's for our June cruise (my family had two rooms) - and shared with another family. We went to guest services onboard and advised how we wanted it split and it was all correct.

What was interesting was that we had 6 in one cabana and 10 in the other. We got several calls from concierge asking us to give up one of the cabanas. They said the would put all 16 of us in one cabana and we could save money. We did not want to have 16 in once cabana so we said no. I never did ask how much it would be.

It is interesting how we can only book 10 in one cabana but they were going to allow us to put 16 in one!

We had a cabana in May that had the three of us (one room) and my parents (another room) on the reservation. Guest Services called our room the day before CC to ask how we wanted the charge split between the cabins. Since we were paying for the whole thing, we just asked them to keep it on our room. It sounded like they would split it however you wanted. I imagine they'll do whatever you want. Best of luck!
