Exciting News !!! DH called from work said he had some vacation he needed to use up and why don't we rebook our Thanksgiving trip ??? I had cancelled it because I thought I would still be in a cast. But since I know I will be out of my cast by then, I think I can swing it. Plus, I can be scooter mom again. :moped:

So ... just like that, we are booked for 11/22/12-11/25/12 in a 1BR at SSR !!

I was able to get some pretty good ressies.

11/22 (Thanksgiving) Dinner at Garden Grill
11/23 Dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe
11/24 Late Lunch at Le Cellier

I just thought ...... a 4:40 PM ressie at LeCellier means 2 credits, right ?? I don't think I want that. Someone please advise.

I am pumped !!!!! :dance3::cool1::cheer2:pixiedust:

Everything is looking amazing! I can't wait to see more...making me crave all of our meals and snacks for our upcoming trip!

I spoke to my fam about my participating in this live update. They were not entirely thrilled about me taking pictures of everyone's meals. So, what I think I will do is take pictures of mine and as many others as I can scattered throughout (for most of our trip there will be 9 of us). I will, however, get a comment/rating from everyone at the various meals. Does that sound ok? Also, we will be doing about 10 CS meals all over the place. Anyone have any suggestions or requests that they would like to see? We usually don't really do CS but are definitely using our credits this time. The ones we know for sure we will be doing are Earl, WPE and probably Riverside Mill...also probably Cosmic Rays. We are going to Blizzard Beach and depending on how late we are there may also eat there. And...thrown into the mix will be two days in Universal. So, we will sample some things there. It is our first time there so we really have no direction there at all!

Whatever food pics you are able to send our way would be perfectly fine and I'm sure greatly appreciated by everyone here. Don't worry about getting everything, as I'm sure there will some who don't want to bother with having their food photographed before they are able to eat it. But those that do want to take part in the food porn fun...now those are our kind of people! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I received an email update from nickymaria this morning. She attempted to send me an update yesterday morning, but in her words the internet at AOA was "wonky" and her update was cut off after one pic. Unfortunately the "wonky" internet seems to be a common complaint of our live reporters staying at AOA, as she is the third to experience problems. :worried:

Anyway, here is what Nicky said...

"Hello Barb! This will go down as the worst live review in history - I am sorry. We have been doing some serious commando touring and I have forgotten to take photos as often as I have remembered. But my sister and niece leave today and my girls and I are moving to WL, so maybe as things slow down I won't forget so much. Now on to the reviews!"

On Friday morning (Oct. 19), Nicky's group was at the Contemporary Resort having breakfast with Mickey at...

Chef Mickey's

photo-CM1-1.jpg

Nicky said, "This was my plate - eggs, ham, grapefruit and the cheesy broccoli and egg pie on the left and the sausage and spinach quiche on the right. I really loved the pie and quiche - definitely try them if you head to CMs!" :thumbsup2

photo-CM2.jpg

"This is my daughter's plate."

"(I think this speaks for itself!) And my other daughter's plate:"

photo-CM3.jpg

"Sorry so blurry!"

"For lunch that day we ate at CHH in MK. It was VERY busy (but we did get to check out the new FL expansion and rode Ariel - SO fun!) We thoroughly enjoyed the adult chicken nuggets and I had the broccoli peppercorn salad with chicken. This was surprisingly good - fresh veggies, lightly dressed, chicken breast. I would definitely recommend it. But of course I forgot to take pictures...

Next up, photos from our Cali Grill dinner!"

On Friday night (Oct. 19), nickymaria & group were again at the Contemporary, this time to have dinner at...

California Grill

Dragon Roll - Spicy and Tataki Tuna, Shrimp Tempura, Bell Pepper, Avocado, Chili-Soy Glaze

Nicky said, "My sister started with the Dragon Roll. This was very good, but a bit sweet for my tastes.
I prefer my sushi spicy!"

photo-CG2.jpg

Tuna Three Ways with Poke, Tartare, Tataki

Nicky said, "I had the Tuna three Ways. This was EXCELLENT. If you like tuna sushi, I can't recommend this more.
It was completely delicious!"

photo-CG3.jpg

Chef’s Garden Tomato Salad with Queso Fresco, Avocado, and Charred Onion Vinaigrette made with Original Barrel Minus 8 Vinegar

Nicky said, "For dinner my sister had the Chef's Garden tomato salad, which was good but not spectacular.
The tomato salad I had the next night at Flying Fish was better!" ;)

Nicky added, "We had an excellent server (though can't remember her name) and an even more excellent meal!" :thumbsup2

And this from nickymaria regarding their dining yesterday at Sci-Fi and Flying Fish...

"Saturday, 10/20 we grabbed some muffins and yogurt from LoF and ate in our room. Today I have basically no pictures, which I apologize for (worst dining reporter ever!) - We had lunch at Sci-Fi and my sister and I both enjoyed the smoked turkey sandwich with the cucumber salad. (Smoked turkey, crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato with an Avocado mayo on mulitgrain bread) It was very good, a generous portion and tasty. The kids all had the kids pasta with marinara and though they enjoyed it, the portion was pretty skimpy!

Tonight we dined at Flying Fish, a first for me, and sadly the battery on my phone died just as we started dinner so I have no photos! I had the tomato and mozzarella salad to start which was excellent. My sister had the Floribbean Wild-caught Gulf Shrimp Cocktail - Vero Beach Red Watercress, Spiced Radishes, and Palm Hearts, with a Horseradish-Piquillo Cocktail Sauce. This was also very good - not a traditional shrimp cocktail so be warned, but still delicious. This is where the dining review gets even worse... We didn't get a photo of the menu and we got specials so I can't even give a good description of what we ate! My sister had a special salmon that was good but not spectacular - it had a tomatillo sauce with it which ended up being an odd pairing with the fish. I had a sustainable sea bass with shrimp and pesto that was quite good. We also enjoyed some wine flights and I had the cheese plate for dessert (this was awesome, BTW!) The kids ate the mickey pasta with cheddar sauce which they mostly liked and they loved their mickey puzzle dessert.

That's it for now - things slow down for a while so hopefully I'll be better at the photos and menu pics coming up. We're supposed to do lunch at Chefs and dinner at Citrico's and we're hoping the crowds subside a bit!"

Just a reminder that we have another Disney Dining Reporter arriving at Disney World tomorrow...

dixonsontour will be at OKW from 10/22 - 11/5 and this will be their first attempt at DxDDP. dixonsontour will be doing a dining report after their trip. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip, dixonsontour! :cool1:
