Alligator Roadkill Was Just The Beginning!!! Updated 2nd May!!

Checking Back Into Reality!

Well I'm back from an incredibly amazing trip!!!

Darcy was the perfect travel companion and so much fun to be around.
It is the perfect place to go with a bestie, especially one who gets Disney in all the right ways. :goodvibes

I cannot wait to write the trip report and tell you guys all about it!!

In the meantime I will let you know that we posed up a storm.

We made friends!

And enemies...

And ate WAYYYY too much!

Ahhhh it was soooo lovely!

I also wanted to apologise for the slackness in updating lately.
After getting back from WDW I went straight on an interstate work trip which was so crazy.
Then since my return we found out that our landlord has been continuously sneaking onto the property when we are not there. Looking into pressing charges or at least doing something... Invasions of privacy are not ok in my books.
Anyway that should all be sorted soon, I hope.
Just annoying doing legal icky stuff when all I want to do is DIS and do the next few chapters.
Thanks for sticking around guys- Promise I'll get back in the swing shortly! :goodvibes

Welcome back...I'm glad you guys had such a great time!

I hate it when real life interrupts more important things like Disney trip reporting!

Looking forward to the next update(s)!

Welcome home! I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip! I am laughing just from your little recap of it so I'm sure I will be in love with the TR too. I can't wait to read more of THIS trip report though!

I love your writing style & your own drawings! Sounds like a fun & crazy start to a trip! Can't wait to read more!

CHAPTER EIGHT

Park Day One- Why Hello Disnepworld!!

When we last left of we had spent a day around our rental house recovering and eating far too many Swedish fish.
Ahhhh Swedish Fish!
We awoke the following morning to a beautiful summer day- of course this is only if your definition of a beautiful summer day was one where the temperature was over 100 degrees and the humidity was at such a level that you were exhausted after 2 minutes in it.
That kind of beautiful day!

NEVERMIND we were going to Walt Disney World!!!

It’s funny how it’s the only place in the world that I can literally leap out of bed at the crack of dawn with disgusting amounts of energy for that time of day, no matter how tired I am.
Usually I need a few gallons of coffee to wake me from my early morning zombie state.

Actually it was fairly funny on our first Disney day, I kept getting all these crazy headaches and I couldn’t figure out why for ages. Then I realized it was the first day that I didn’t drink caffeinated beverages by the truckload. Ah off to caffeine-withdrawal city I go
So we got dressed in suitable Disney attire and headed to the parks about 8am (we were about a 15 min drive away)
We passed my favourite power pole of all time!!

SDC10059.jpg

We screamed and threw our arms in the air when we went through the beautiful golden arches...hang on, that’s McDonalds isn’t it? I just realized don’t know what that bit is called… is it the welcome sign? That sounds like the obvious answer. We shall go with that!

IMG_2974.jpg

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

We quickly parked at TTC and galloped in. Yes galloped.
Has anyone heard of the British show Miranda? Such a delightfully awkward show.
Anyway she has reignited my love of a good old fashioned gallop.
We got our tickets and Bek and Tim got first timer badges (Josh went when he was a kid) and grabbed a group shot.
groupwdw.jpg

This photo annoys me only because I wear sunnies 24/7 and for some reason I took them off right before the shot. So close to being all matchy. Boo Sally.
We then ferried our way over to the MK.
Ahhh isn’t lifejacket mickey the cutest.

lifejacketmickey.jpg

We arrived just in time for the welcome show.
And cried our eyes out.
Which is totally normal I hear.
Right?
I love how the humidity and intese overload of emotions make it impossible to look decent in Disney after the first five minutes.

entrance.jpg

I was too busy crying to take photos of the actual show... of course.

Does anyone think after the welcome mini firework things go off it is a bit like the start of a marathon.
What I mean is that it is such a buildup, everyone raring to go. The air is thick with anticipation and excitement and then… BANG!!!
Everyone shuffles forward at a snails pace walk until the crowd thins out. Always makes me laugh!

We headed to our first ride of the trip. SPLASH MOUNTAIN!
splash1.jpg

Which is, for the record, my favorite ride of all time.
splash3.jpg

We used to watch ‘Song of the South’ with my dad all the time when we were kids and I used to love the characters so much
(of course I didn’t really understand the story line)
It’s so strange to think a movie that was never released after the initial showing inspired such a great ride!
Here we are! Ra ra ready to get splashed…and um mountained?

splash4.jpg

splash2.jpg

And from the logs POV

IMG_4562.jpg

Now it’s probably my fault for being on the disboards too much BUT I once read this thread about how WDW was going downhill and how horrible it was turning (blah blah blah you know the ones) and someone mentioned that when they were loading into Splash Mountain they noticed the seat was really wet but thinking it was just water they sat on it and off the log went. Once the log was going they noticed a stench and realized it was a puddle of urine they were sitting in!! And they had to stay in it the whole ride!!! Blaahhhhh! So even though Splash is my favourite ride, in the back of my head every time I load and the seat is wet my thoughts are;
PLEASE DON’T BE A PUDDLE OF URINE!!!
Haha gross I know. I'm sorry if I have passed on my paranoia to anyone. :scared:

After a urine-free Splash it was Big Thunder Mountain- while it was only 25 minute wait it seemed like forever! It was sooooo hotttttt!!! And people were feeling the need to get as close to each other as humanly possible.

IMG_4635.jpg

It was in this line we came up with the ‘Don’t-stand-too-close-to-me-in-lines’ stance. This is due to the fact that singing the Sting song didn't work AND some people have a very distorted view on what personal space is.
I'm sorry sir, if your beer belly is resting on my backpack... You are TOO close. I'm sorry mam, that is the 748th time that your have stepped on the back of my shoe… You are TOO close!
Now this standing position is not foolproof by any means, sometimes the personal space invaders can attack from the sides and front when you are least expecting it.
This is purely for the ones that stand behind you in line and are overly keen to fill every last pocket of space.
The pose is similar to how a pregnant woman would stand.
pregnantstance.jpg

Credit to google... as this is clearly not me.

This ensures that if people try and get way too close they will get elbowed in the gut (or if it is a child, in the head) Now I am not suggesting you elbow people at all, it is simply having your elbow in that angular position so if they feel the need to keep creeping as close as they can, you have a buffer.
People may think you are pregnant, but it’s a small price to pay for breathing room and personal space.

After that it was time for some Haunted Mansion action.

hauntedmansion.jpg

We were last out of the stretching room to hear the voices (the whispering ones that I had read about on here) and Bek and I were walking a few paces behind the boys. All of a sudden there was breathing on my neck so I swung around and a creepy cast member was standing right behind us…breathing heavily. Now I am all for getting in character but that was downright creepy!! I screamed loudly, then Bek screamed then Josh and Tim turned around. Good work creepy cast member…
(if I had been ready and had my pregnant woman stance, this could have been avoided)
After we got over that little shock we loaded into our doom buggies, once again the boys were in front of us, and started our journey. When... BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
The same creepy cast member had snuck along our buggy the whole way down the loading platform and stuck his head in right at the end . Now this one startled us SO much that our screams were long …and deafening. So much so that the two children a few buggies behind us started crying.
See what happens when you get overly keen with scaring young ladies my creepy cast member friend? You end up deaf with crying children.
No one is happy!!

Ok I lied. We were still very happy because we were still in WDW!:thumbsup2
We galloped through Fantasyland hitting up Peter Pan and then our beloved Teacups
(Weeeeeee!! Although making myself nauseously dizzy seems to get a little less appealing every year)
teacups-1.jpg

teacupping.jpg

And then it was on to Tomorrowlanddddd!
It was at this stage we got out our park tickets as we decided to fast pass Space Mountain. Bek looked down at her ticket after she took it out and said;

It’s so funny that the P is silent’

There was a confused silence from Tim and I

'What??'

Bek points to the Walt Disney World logo and says again, “Well it’s just so funny how it’s spelt D-I-S-N-E-P but pronounced Disney. It’s a silent P right?

I was trying to get my head around what she was saying.

'WHAT????'

Tim and I had caught each others eyes and started giggling hysterically at this stage but poor Bek was still trying to get her point across.

“It’s spelt Disnep isn’t it??"

BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Poor Bek was just met with us falling all over ourselves in a pile of laughter.

So looking at the Disney font you can sort of see how it would look like a P…

wdwlogo.jpg

But still.

Hilarious!!

Her whole life she thought that it was actually spelt Disnep!!!!
And that is was just common knowledge to pronounce it Disney.
Ahhhh it’s still funny!!! To me at least.

So for the rest of the trip we referred to Disnep for everything. Bek loved us.

Next- Give Me Back My glasses Space Mountain!!! And Fireworks- Tennis Style.

I remember enjoying "Song of the South" as a kid....I loved all the B'rer Rabbit stories -- "Oh please, oh please. Whatever you do, don't throw me into that briar patch!"

Personal Space Invaders. Love it!

Disnep. Well of course. I've looked at that "y" and thought that it wasn't the most clearly-defined letter. Poor Bek. :rotfl2:

OH YES, it is completely normal to cry during the MK opening show.

SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!! Perfect first ride of the trip! It was the first ride of my last trip too, AND it's my favorite! TWINS.

Hahaha, personal space invaders are the WORST. I don't understand how they just DO NOT GET IT. It baffles the mind.

HAHAHA, now your 'Disnepworld' at the beginning of the update makes sense! I was like, what... that's not even a normal typo, the p is nowhere near the y. :lmao:

Holy cow, I DIED over the Disnep thing. Like, in the middle of my work, read it and started laughing out loud SO hard. Oh my word, that is the best story ever.
:rotfl:

Also, ew on the Splash thing. It's my favorite MK attraction and if I sat in pee I would be so so grossed out.

The "pregnant lady" stance is genius! I usually just position myself between my DH and DD to avoid run-ins with strangers. I'm a really excellent wife and mother.

I believe that it is a requirement to cry during the welcome show. :thumbsup2

That creepy cast member sounds fun, but... Wow. I'd have freaked out.

Welcome back...I'm glad you guys had such a great time!

I hate it when real life interrupts more important things like Disney trip reporting!

Looking forward to the next update(s)!

Awwhh thanks!! It was such an amazing trip!!!

Ughh I know!! Come on real life...just let me get to some updates, that is all I ask!! :lmao:

Welcome home! I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip! I am laughing just from your little recap of it so I'm sure I will be in love with the TR too. I can't wait to read more of THIS trip report though!

Ahhhhh it was sooo good!!! THere was a LOT of overtired running around pretending to be dinosaurs and hiding behind strange objects.
Made for some very interesting pictures!
I can't wait to share it...after this trip of course!:thumbsup2
Oooh and I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!

I love your writing style & your own drawings! Sounds like a fun & crazy start to a trip! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks so much!!
It was very crazy!! Both the driving and the whole trip! I'm excited to share the rest :goodvibes

Poor Bek. :rotfl2:

I know! We still have it lying somewhere around here on VHS along with all the other favs like Robin Hood and Pete's Dragon :goodvibes

:rotfl:That really is what they are! Too close people, TOO CLOSE!

Yes I can see how she would see it with the way the font is BUT it's still hilarious :rotfl2:

OH YES, it is completely normal to cry during the MK opening show.

SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!! Perfect first ride of the trip! It was the first ride of my last trip too, AND it's my favorite! TWINS.

Hahaha, personal space invaders are the WORST. I don't understand how they just DO NOT GET IT. It baffles the mind.

HAHAHA, now your 'Disnepworld' at the beginning of the update makes sense! I was like, what... that's not even a normal typo, the p is nowhere near the y. :lmao:

Oh Good! Glad I am normal because that show makes me a blubbering mess!!
As does the parade...and wishes... Ahhh I learnt after the first trip that waterproof mascara is a MUST :rotfl:

Perfect first ride!!! Glad you agree twinny! :thumbsup2

Ughhhh I know! As much as I love to feel a stranger's breath on the back of my neck..... The pregnant stance really does work though!

HAHAHA oh my gosh that is so funny that you thought it was a typo!!
Although I do make horrible typos all the time. In college once I handed in a paper about public speaking which I accidentally titled 'Overcoming A Fear Of Pubic Speaking' ughh so embarassing...:rotfl:

Holy cow, I DIED over the Disnep thing. Like, in the middle of my work, read it and started laughing out loud SO hard. Oh my word, that is the best story ever.
:rotfl:

Also, ew on the Splash thing. It's my favorite MK attraction and if I sat in pee I would be so so grossed out.

:rotfl:Ahhh that made my day! I bet your work colleagues enjoyed it as well! It seriously provided so much entertainment for the rest of the trip!! Ohhhh Bek...she is too funny!

Ewww it's gross isn't it!?! I wish I could un-read that whole story.
I still love Splash and that will never change but ick so gross :lmao:

The "pregnant lady" stance is genius! I usually just position myself between my DH and DD to avoid run-ins with strangers. I'm a really excellent wife and mother.

I believe that it is a requirement to cry during the welcome show. :thumbsup2

That creepy cast member sounds fun, but... Wow. I'd have freaked out.

Haha I've never thought of using josh as my buffer!
May just have to use him as well as the stance!! I'm sure he will love this idea :rotfl:
Ahhh good to hear! It just makes me so uncontrollably happy that the happiness starts to leak out of my eyes... totally normal...
It was actually really freaky :lmao: Creepy but hilarious! He really commited to the scare which I appreciated...it's all about the follow through when trying to terrify guests:thumbsup2

Chapter 9- Give Me Back My glasses Space Mountain!!! And Fireworks- Tennis Style.

When we last left off we had just discovered that Disney was really Disnep with a silent P.
(How could we have been so wrong all these years??)

It was onto Buzz Lightyear at this stage- which is Josh’s favourite!

IMG_4576.jpg

I love this ride but I enjoy using the guns at Disneyland more.
It’s so much easier when you can pull your gun out and you can see your laser beam.
Still so much fun though!
Tim was the winner this time around. I am terrible at this game… actually I would rather not get into it as it is quite upsetting that I am always in the lowest group with the amount of times I have ridden it! If anything I seem to be getting worse! I have read all the hints, and I know all the tricks about the highest scoring targets and yet…and yet. Sigh. Hopeless.
Even when it got stuck last trip for ages and we were able to keep shooting…hopeless. Oh well, perhaps I just have terrible aim. It’s fine though, I’m ok with it. I’ll just embrace the other strengths I have in life. At least it’s safe to say I’ll never be an assassin. Well at least not a good one…

So Tim won and he got his treat of choice.
PICKLE!!

pickle-1.jpg

The boy is obsessed.

Laugh Floor was next which was a first for everyone in the party.
We were right next to ‘dancing guy’ and my arm got some camera time.
Is that an ok thing to be proud of? Because I am… good work arm! Looking good and arm-ish up there on the big screen
I love this show!! Everyone that got picked was amazing and so into it.
Dancing guy in particular was right on the ball. He was a real jock looking guy who was about 20ish. He was wearing some sort of sports team singlet and his hat backwards and was there with his girlfriend. He didn’t really look like someone who would be
THE BEST DANCING GUY EVER!!! Ok this may not be factual as I have not seen every single dancing guy ever in the history of laugh floor. But I have seen eight.
Of those eight dancing guys I have seen two that gave it about 50% effort, four that gave it about 70-80%, one guy that gave it a lousy 5% and then first guy aka ‘best dancing guy in the world’ that gave it 100%
He danced like his life depended on it, great moves, great energy, great facial expressions. Amazing all round! :cool1::cool1:
You know I never get picked for those things...
Which is strange because I always get picked for airport ‘random searches’.
Not sure how those two are related, but in my mind they are.
Actually that is a lie, last trip at Universal we rode the new Despicable Me ride and they made some comment about not standing too close because people hadn’t showered for weeks? Or something? I wasn’t really listening too hard but suddenly I was up on the big screen. Haha of course THAT is the one I get picked for… I was smelly non showering girl, which is every girl’s dream!

After our experience with the best dancing guy in the world it was lunch time.
I mean watching someone else burn all those calories really works up an appetite!
We back tracked to a simpler time aka Columbia Harbour House for some grub.
Bell ringing guy was out doing what he does best which is always good to see.
Both Bek and I got the vegetarian chilli, which hot chips and OJ. Tim got some shrimp and fish combo and Josh got the nuggets and chips.
vegetarianchili.jpg

The chilli was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it!
Although this is coming from a girl who has only had chilli twice in her life...
With stomachs full we went to get a dole whip…because as we all know, when you are full at Disney
it is the unwritten law that you need to get more full.
You can’t just be full when there is that much amazing food around. You must be absolutely stuffed to the point of bursting!
IMG_4571.jpg

My dole whip melted all over my hands which made the experience even more enjoyable:rotfl:

After we had scoffed our dole whips, we rolled over to Pirates Of The Caribbean.
IMG_3591.jpg

I love the water rides on a full stomach (well not Splash) as they seem to just soothe that overly full feeling.
Ahhh Pirates, it’s such a classic ride and who doesn’t love pirates in general?
However somehow I got soaked on this particular ride which has never happened to me before! Just one of those cannonballs hit the water at the wrong…or right time and made this massive splash and soaked me.
Luckily because it was 3000 degrees outside it didn’t take long to dry off.

Next we climbed the Swiss Family Robinson tree house
swisstree-1.jpg

which, as everyone knows, always has a massive wait time!
nowait.jpg

We continued back to the main hub to watch the parade at 3 and managed to get a spot right in front of the castle. We ended up being right next to some make a wish kids too. These kids were so beautiful and the characters gave them so much attention when they came around. I was watching two little girls in particular who were just dancing the entire time with their parents. It was so beautiful to see the CMs really do everything they could to make the experience even more magical for that family. Ahh my heart literally melted into a puddle right then and there.

We dried our eyes and composed ourselves a little because it was time to use our Space Mountain fastpasses.
IMG_4580-1.jpg

We walked through the space port, loaded into our spaceship and off we zoomed into space.
Ahhh the placement camera cracks me up every time though. I love that it’s before the ride actually does anything.
Gives you the perfect opportunity to pose up a storm.

Now I am a massive fan of sunglasses, or sunnies as we call them here, I wear them every day and everywhere. I actually have a weird amount of dependence on them these days, it’s probably not healthy.
Naturally I was wearing them all day at the park and so I was pushing them onto my head on the indoor rides. Felt so natural that I forgot they were there as we blasted off into outer space. Well that was until one of the last turns. I felt them fly off my head and I heard the lady behind me scream as they hit her!!!!
ARGHHH!!!!

I felt terrible!!

(and I really liked those glasses- which was also a bummer)

The last minute of the ride felt like it took forever because all I wanted to do was get off the ride and apologize to that poor woman! We finally stopped and unloaded and I leapt out of the car and grabbed the woman by the arm and started apologizing profusely. I told her how sorry I was and how I totally forgot they were on my head and how I wanted to make sure she was ok.
All the time while holding her arm and probably being a personal space invader myself. It took a few awkward minutes until she let me know that my glasses hadn’t in fact hit her at all and she was just screaming and enjoying herself on the ride. I let go of her arm and stopped babbling.

“Ummmmm”

*Cough*

“Well then… “

We parted ways and I told the others what had happened, which they found quite amusing. Bek in particular as it got the attention off her and the whole Disnep fiasco.

After that we tried to hunt down push (unsuccessfully) by talking to all the bins in tomorrowland.
We saw the laugh floor again- dancing guy got an 8 that time.
We rode the TTA a couple of times and enjoyed the pure blackness that your experience in the Space Mountain section. It’s so dark! I love it so much!

IMG_4604.jpg

We ate a mountain of burgers at cosmic rays- went to into a food coma and passed out at the table.
We then hit Fantasyland and scoped out a spot for Wishes.
Now I had read here on the dis boards that to avoid fighting the crowds, you can watch Wishes from Fantasyland.
Considering this was a June trip it was hot and crowded all the time and we thought it sounded like a great idea!
We plopped on a little stone wall there behind the carousel and waited for Wishes.
While waiting we got some quality people watching time in.
We debated the pros and cons of matching shirts in groups.
We provided commentary for people walking past
And we played the game ‘Which Toddler Will Tantrum First’ which is fairly self explanatory.
Finally it was time!
I LOVE Wishes and none of the others had seen it so I was super excited to share it with them. We heard Julie’s sweet, soothing, disneyish voice and it began.
IMG_3746.jpg

EXCEPT They were all over the place! Some in front and some behind, some behind and to the side.
Ahhh this isn’t how it is meant to be! It was so confusing! We were suddenly transported to a tennis match with our heads bouncing back and forward back and forward. We had reached a bit of an overtired delirious state (yes again) at this stage and so it became quite funny especially when we looked around and the whole of fantasyland was doing the same. So much back and forthing!
It was so confusing! No one knew where to look!!
CONFUSED!!
DoodleBuddyiPad-2-1.png

I think next time I‘ll just brave the crowds but I’m glad I saw it there at least once.
After Wimbeldon…I mean Wishes we slowly walked to the front of the park hopped on the monorail and headed back to the car.

Well that would be correct if we had remembered where the car was.

We had not...

At all...

Not one of us...

So on our tired park feet we lapped the carpark rows again and again until we saw Betsy siting alone in her row waiting patiently for us.
Good girl!
We loaded in and back to the house we went for showers and bed.
And by that I mean more Swedish Fish and late night swimming

OMg I love your tr but I gotta tell ya from now on I must only read it during the day,it's 12:08 am and I just woke up my 7 yr old from a dead sleep because i laughed at ur update THAT much LOL:rotfl:

I'm really glad you'll never be an assassin, but I'm sorry that means that your Buzz aim isn't as good as it could be. :rotfl:

I love when the CMs go above and beyond for the kids in need/disabled people. It makes them feel so special, I love it!

I'm really glad you apologized to that woman. She was probably so confused! HAHAHA.

Hahah yeah... not the best vantage point from Fantasyland. Frontierland is actually pretty good, believe it or not, or ya know, Main Street. But those dang crowds!

Seriously, your updates KILL me. The things that happen on your trip are hysterical! Like I would've done the same thing with the glasses, but to have the lady tell you that no, she was not hit in the face had me dying. Or just in general, picturing a woman being hit in the face by sunglasses on Space Mountain just cracks me up. Oh my gosh, your TR is seriously hysterical.

I had to laugh out loud at your "standing in line" pose, because I stand the same way! :rotfl2: I figure if people want to get wayyyy too close for comfort, then they're gonna get jabbed by my elbow in the process. :lmao: I've had so many people give me dirty looks, because they were hit in the ribs, but it keeps me a little sane in those queues so I don't mind. :thumbsup2

Your Space Mtn story had me rolling. I think everyone has those kind of moments, especially at Disney when you're hot and tired and on an adrenaline high, but it's nice to see someone other than me owning up to them. :rotfl: I can only imagine what that woman told her group when she got off the ride. "I'm never screaming on Space again!" "Why?" "Because it sounds like I'm getting hit in the face with sunglasses!"

In all honesty, though, I would've jumped to the same conclusion. I mean, it sounds logical that someone yelled right as your sunglasses flew off.

Sorry about not getting a good spot for Wishes. That had to be annoying!

Another great chapter Sally!

You know I never get picked for those things...
Which is strange because I always get picked for airport random searches.

Well, if your drive to the Orlando-area for that trip was anything like this one... I'm just sayin'. ;)

Now I am a massive fan of sunglasses, or sunnies as we call them here, I wear them every day and everywhere. I actually have a weird amount of dependence on them these days, its probably not healthy.

Well that was until one of the last turns. I felt them fly off my head and I heard the lady behind me scream as they hit her!!!!

One of my Dad's favorite stories about Space Mountain is from when he rode it in 1983 and his glasses kept sliding down his nose but he was too afraid to let go of the handles on the car to push them up. He got to the end and they were just about to fall off (but didn't). Okay, maybe not a great story, but I said it was "one of his favorite stories about Space Mountain"....of which he doesn't have many.

I think next time Ill just brave the crowds but Im glad I saw it there at least once.

Love this! I've read on the DIS that they can be difficult to watch from back there, but your description and accompanying picture captured it beautifully! I love the eyes going in different directions. :lmao:

Too bad that the assassin career is out. It's nice to have options. I'm terrible at Buzz as well. Drives me crazy that you can't see where your laser is pointing!

Awesome that you had a great dancing guy at Laugh Floor! I love it when people really get into it-especially those that you wouldn't normally expect to.

Sucks about your glasses, but at least you got a funny story out of it!

OMg I love your tr but I gotta tell ya from now on I must only read it during the day,it's 12:08 am and I just woke up my 7 yr old from a dead sleep because i laughed at ur update THAT much LOL:rotfl:

:rotfl: Oh no! Your poor 7 year old! I'm the same though, I stay up late and laugh at trip reports way too much:rotfl:

I'm really glad you'll never be an assassin, but I'm sorry that means that your Buzz aim isn't as good as it could be. :rotfl:

Haha thanks! That was the natural conclusion that I came to.

I love when the CMs go above and beyond for the kids in need/disabled people. It makes them feel so special, I love it!

It's such a beautiful thing to watch! They really work hard to make those kids feel special. Just makes me melt!

I'm really glad you apologized to that woman. She was probably so confused! HAHAHA.

Oh gosh, she was SOOO confused!!! It's was so embarrassing:rotfl2:

Hahah yeah... not the best vantage point from Fantasyland. Frontierland is actually pretty good, believe it or not, or ya know, Main Street. But those dang crowds!

Lol I know! I'm not sure what thread I read but I was quite misinformed.

Seriously, your updates KILL me. The things that happen on your trip are hysterical! Or just in general, picturing a woman being hit in the face by sunglasses on Space Mountain just cracks me up. Oh my gosh, your TR is seriously hysterical.

Awhh thanks! Ahhh it was so bad! I just started screaming apologies in her face without warning. I keep secretly hoping that she was a DIS-er and that somehow I can actually explain my actions that day.
It is a funny image! I got hit with a hat on a coaster at six flags...it was not very funny AND I didn't even get an apology!

:thumbsup2

Ahhh that is so awesome!! High Fives for the best standing position everrrr!!
Although now you have a real reason to use it!!!!:goodvibes
I only got one dirty look this last trip when I used it again and it was from the dad of this one kid in the Space queue who just kept running into me and getting elbowed in the head...
Sorry kid, you were too close! :rotfl:

Your Space Mtn story had me rolling. I think everyone has those kind of moments, especially at Disney when you're hot and tired and on an adrenaline high, but it's nice to see someone other than me owning up to them. :rotfl: I can only imagine what that woman told her group when she got off the ride. "I'm never screaming on Space again!" "Why?" "Because it sounds like I'm getting hit in the face with sunglasses!"

Ahhh it was so like that- I just grabbed her and had this crazy babbling nonsensical apology!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I didn't even think of that!!!! I have most likely ruined her on-ride screaming enjoyment. Now she is going to be paranoid that people think she is being injured by flying objects when she is just having fun!

In all honesty, though, I would've jumped to the same conclusion. I mean, it sounds logical that someone yelled right as your sunglasses flew off.

It was PERFECT timing! And her scream sounded like one of pain and surprise mixed into one.... although that is probably what everyone's Space Mountain screams sound like!

Sorry about not getting a good spot for Wishes. That had to be annoying!

It was annoying but so funny to watch all those heads bounce back and forth

Another great chapter Sally!

Thanks!!

Well, if your drive to the Orlando-area for that trip was anything like this one... I'm just sayin'. ;)

Hey now! We flew last time! :rotfl2:

One of my Dad's favorite stories about Space Mountain is from when he rode it in 1983 and his glasses kept sliding down his nose but he was too afraid to let go of the handles on the car to push them up. He got to the end and they were just about to fall off (but didn't). Okay, maybe not a great story, but I said it was "one of his favorite stories about Space Mountain"....of which he doesn't have many.

:rotfl: Well I enjoyed that story!! That is one hilarious image of your poor dad. See, they seriously have the camera in the wrong place! They need to capture those moments!

Love this! I've read on the DIS that they can be difficult to watch from back there, but your description and accompanying picture captured it beautifully! I love the eyes going in different directions. :lmao:

:lmao: What?? I love how everyone else knew that this was the case except me!! I must have been reading from the April Fools thread or something!

Too bad that the assassin career is out. It's nice to have options. I'm terrible at Buzz as well. Drives me crazy that you can't see where your laser is pointing!

I know! Yet another career down the drain :rotfl:
Disneyland is so much easier due to being able to move your gun and track you laser. That said, I am terrible at the Disneyland version too!

Awesome that you had a great dancing guy at Laugh Floor! I love it when people really get into it-especially those that you wouldn't normally expect to.

It makes it so much better! That show really depends on who the picked people are and that dancing guy was born to be a dancing guy. Disney should employee him to be on stand-by when there are duds that get picked.

Sucks about your glasses, but at least you got a funny story out of it!

Thanks! This is why I can't have nice things...
I did get a funny story, I also provided that poor woman with a funny story too.
Everyone wins?

Subbing in! I've only read your intro and you have me hooked. I love a good storyteller and fabulous pics so I'm most definitely sticking around. I'll be back to catch up soon!
