I asked dd14 what she wants for Christmas and she has no idea for now, lol. Yes, I should be greatful she hasn't given me a big expensive list, but I am at a loss. The only thing I can think of right now is she is going to NYC for spring break with drama class.so I plan on getting her a camera and a photo box, since it will be her first trip there. She has an ipod(so she can get gift card).a cell phone, wii ,etc. She is very artistic(so perhaps a gift certificate to local paint your ceramics place).but after that I am at a loss. Any ideas would be appreciated.TIA

Here are some random ideas.

iTunes gift card
North face jacket
Spa day
Concert or event tickets
Beats, dd just got some hot pink ones that are cute.
New bedding
A puppy

Pedicure & manicure gift card
A photo shoot. :joker:
A great book
A nice purse or new back pack.

My kid sister will be turning 15 right after Christmas but the best thing she got last year were itune giftcards and things to decorate her room. She'd gotten a computer the year before. She's really into batman and anime, so I'm sure she's going to get something else for her room from one of those two categories from my mom. My mom got her a cupcake pop maker, she likes to cook so that was a hit. She also got a case of ramen, which was from my brother as a joke because it's one thing she'll consistently eat. :confused3

Like I said, she's not a typical girl, she returned the clothes my grandma got her for Christmas last year and bought her own keurig.

This year I've bought her a batman case for her iphone and batman earbuds. We're looking at getting her a really neat comic series for her wall for her birthday(less than a month after Christmas), but I'm really afraid to invest the money in case the "coolness" of batman wears off. Tom's are also really cool for her group.

If she's artistic, why not an actual art class, like a pottery class, or painting or photography or whatever she might like? There's probably a YMCA or JCC or community college that'd have reasonable classes taught by professionals.

DD15 NEVER tells me what she wants. Which just drives me :crazy2: .
I came up with a trick a couple years ago that helps quite a bit. We go Christmas shopping for the rest of the family early (like about now to mid-Nov.), and I pay close attention to what catches her eye as we're out and about. You know how it works, you might be at Best Buy checking out the latest tech gadget for dad, but they have to pop into the videos and see if the latest chickflick is out, or whatever.
We just went shopping yesterday and I happened to stop in Berean Bookstore looking for a gift for my MIL. We go to church regularly and DD enjoys it, but this is not a store I would typically think of when shopping for a teen; but, she was positively drooling over some bracelets (a bit Pandora-like) and the CDs. So, I now have one or two ideas up my sleeve. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Of course, this only works, if you can refrain from buying the stuff for her in the moment, or prevent them from buying it themselves. Sometimes I struggle with that. :rotfl:

I also agree with the poster who suggested a class. My cousin was always artistic and really enjoyed a cake decorating class one year. Ceramic stores usually have classes also.

My DD16 is travelling next summer so that's going to be her theme for Christmas this year. She's getting a suitcase, a neck pillow, something to wear under her clothing for money/passport, passport cover, probably an amazon gc so she can get some more books on her kindle and a journal. She likes making her own jewelry so I'll probably get her some craft supplies for her stocking.

Some other things you could get are gift cards to the movie theater or fast food. You could get her a purse or a travel bag (something like baggellini for her trip).

My dd will be just shy of 15 at Christmas, she is getting a new cell phone as her big gift. Other things are
ski pants and boot bag
Hunger Games DVD and companion books
SIMS something game
make-up
hair curling wand
Katy Perry perfume
Wreck Me Journal
A bunch of rolls of Duck Tape and an project book
Smash Journal and accessories for it
PJs and an ornament (Christmas Eve tradition)
Itunes card
She has mentioned that she wants the new 5th generation ipod touch, since they changed the design, added a better camera and it has Siri. She just got a 32GB one last year and wants to sell it, along with her older version one and then ask "Santa" for the rest of the money to buy the new one. I'm on the fence about this, but maybe for her birthday.

She is also artistic and in the past I have given her things like sketch books, good pencils, paint sets and brushes.
Drawing cartoon/anime software and a drawing pad for the computer
Animation software

My 15 year old daughter is in theater and is also artistic. Some ideas from past gifts:

Camera, accessories
Video camera
Concert tix
Broadway show tix (went to a smaller theater and saw Chicago recently 3 tix for less than $100 total and she got to bring her BFF)
Easel
Canvases
Oil paints, brushes
Cool vintage costume jewelry
Headbands
Makeup
Clothes
Perfume

Subbing - I had to google "wreck me journal" - WOW! I added one to my Amazon basket... great idea - she will love it!

My DD is pretty tough to buy for... she's a little off of the wall, okay - a lot off of the wall :upsidedow

I've picked up a few My Little Pony items - who knew she would get back into them at 14?? I also ordered a new generation purple Furby. She'll definitely get some art supplies - looking for a nice art portfolio... other than that I'll be looking for more ideas.

Thanks! :cheer2:

Thanks everyone. Reading the posts made me go :dang, why didn't I think of that? Lol.

pound of favorite candy
OPI mini polishes

scratch off tickets
mani/pedi gift certificate
Charming Charlie gift card
character slippers

Apple tv
Netflix subscription
roll of quarters
ring pop

Really don't want to lose this thread! Any more ideas?

My DD is into video games - especially for the PC. Target is running their "Buy 2 - Get 1 Free" deal this week. I got some of the expansion packs for Sims3.

She also loves the Monster High dolls - not to play with, just to shelve - but there are some new cute costumed dolls out now.

Uggs (our 14 yr old has the knock offs, but would love the real thing)
Sperry's
North Face Osito jacket (or Oso---one is for kids, one is women's), anyway, it's the one with the super soft fleece

DD, who's turning 14 in March, loves to listen to music and dance so it doesn't surprise me that her wishlist includes the following:

- Dr. Dre Solo Beats headphones*
- Ipod Touch (4th or 5th gen)* - (her current Ipod is a refurbished 2nd or 3rd gen that she's used for about 5 years. It's on it's last left :lmao:)
- Xbox Dance games - Dance Dance 4 and Hip Hop Dance
- itunes card

*I'm on the hunt for the best deals for these...especially those that offer a Giftcard.

Additional gifts: -
- GC's to clothing stores, Starbucks and Smoothie King (Stocking Stuffers)
- Pandora starter bracelet (I snagged this during Pandora's recent sale.)
- Northface jacket

I'm glad she gives me her list early so that I have suggestions for others when asked. ;)

Over on a Christmas thread on the Family board they were suggesting Bose headphones instead of Beats, they're supposed to be better quality. I don't know from personal experience, just thought I'd pass that along.

DD14 has asked for:

desktop computer
small desk to put it on
GCs to places she eats out with her friends
GCs to the mall stores she likes
GCs to the movies
Itunes GCs

That's about it. She's got everything else electronic already so she's hard to shop for.

DD 13 never asks for anything so I have to make it up as I go along, but this is what she is getting this year:

Earrings (cheap pair in her favorite color because she loses them all the time)
Uglies (the first in a series of YA books, I always get her a new book I think she will like)
Wooden Chess Set
itunes gift card
smash book
Tickets to see The Lion King when it is here in January
a Roku for her room
shirt from Aeropostle
Vera Bradley weekender bag for sleep overs
book sox
A neon lamp for her desk

The only gift my DD14 has asked for for Christmas is a newer model cellphone - we will be getting her a Samsung Galaxy S III with a data plan.

Even though she asked for nothing more - she will be receive:

Ugg boots (low style in Chestnut color) and Ugg preservative to seal them
a Clarsonic
an electric throw
Boyfriend pillow and cover (PB Teen)
Down-alternative comforter and duvet set
a glitter Lava lamp
Guinness Book of World Records 2013

For her stocking:
a Speck case (Hard Candy Shell) for the phone
GC to Sephora
a giant Hersey bar
bath bubble bar and bath bomb (from Lush)
body spray from VS
warm,fuzzy socks

That's pretty much it.
