Talk to me about Boardwalk area dining

Background info: DH and I are going on a Disney cruise next summer and we decided to spend 2 days in WDW before setting sail. The plan is to just relax and enjoy our resort. No parks. Since we typically prefer to stay near MK when we are parking it up, we thought it would be fun to give an EPCOT resort a try and we booked YC. I'm super excited about SAB!

And now the question: What are some can't miss restaurants/food items in that area? I don't know if we'll necessarily want to do any signature dining since we'll be enjoying some (hopefully) fantastic and fancy cuisine on the cruise, but I'm definitely open to suggestions! We don't usually spend a lot of time over that way, so I want to make the most of it.

I have stayed at BC and Boardwalk area.. I think you will do yourself a dis-service if you don't try Flying Fish. I had one of the best meals I have ever had in my life there..
Also, being so close to Epcot I would take advantage of what it has to offer.. There are so many places to choose from, and most are not signature.
If you are not doing the dining plan I would suggest trying some of the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin. Blue Zoo, Shulas and il Mulino..

For fancy you have Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, but that is very fancy. Kouzzinas is nice and not very dressy, also on the Boardwalk. Then there is the ESPN Club and Big River Grill Brewery, which are what they sound like.

On your end you have Cape May Cafe which is supposed to be great if you like seafood for dinner and the Character Breakfast is nice too. You also have the Captains Grill which has good food and is not dressy. Then there is Beaches & Cream which has no dress code at all! It's "pool" food (Burgers, dogs and ice cream).

Those are a few options. Oh yeah, and don't forget about the Kitchen Sink!

I agree with Flying Fish. My experiences have always been great. Beaches and Cream is a fun place for a burger and malt. I've also enjoyed sushi at Kimonos at the Swan and Dolphin. I also like the quiet bar in the Boardwalk resort.

Flying Fish is an annual stop for us. DH and I just got back from F&W. on a whim we decided to go try Kimonos sushi bar at the Swan. This place is AMAZING! The food was so good, the cocktail I had, Brown Sugar Pears...WOW. The service was excellent. Definately a must do now. Bluezoo is also very good. Have fun deciding

We like the Crews Cup lounge for laidback dining or apps. The menu is good. It is pretty quiet unless a game is on. Big river has great nachos and a beer flight. The dinners are good too. Not great but good. ESPN is a great pub style place. We like to get a couple apps and share. The Bellvue Lounge is one of our favs. It is very quiet and the bartenders are great! No food tho.

The place isn't fancy but I am picky and find the food fancy. DH loves it tho so every once in a while I will suprise him and reserve it!

Flying Fish is not fancy; it's family dining. If you want fancy and much better food, go to Bluezoo. We dined there last night and even got to meet Todd English! I have dined there many times and it remains the best restaurant here outside of V&A. The bar is also my favorite at WDW. Flying Fish isn't as good but it's still nice and very casual in comparison.

Shulas will be the best steak place in this area and I love Il Mulino and Kimonos. If you want bar fare there's ESPN. Although I'm not a fan of either Cape May or Kouzzina but many like them. Captain's Grill is more generic and you've got Beaches & Cream, Big River Grille and The Fountain for burger type places.

Even better than Storm Along Bay is the selection of resort restaurants in the area.

Get a cappuccino cupcake at the Boardwalk Bakery. Amazing!! The strawberry one is also good.

My thoughts exactly..pricey but not fancy..you can even sit at the bar area and watch them cook which we like to do. And in case no one has said it already the Steak is to die for..the blackened sugar crust is just the best, the potato wrapped snapper is a favorite of mine and here's a couple of more obscure facts...the mozzarella and tomato salad is real Buffalo Mozzarella which if you are unaware of the differences just google it. It's really good. They usually have some homemade ice cream ( limited quantities) to go with one of their desserts..usually the apple dessert...it's always excellent and if you happen to be there when it is cinnamon ice cream it is heaven.

Just wrapping up a week spent at the Dolphin and Boardwalk. Although most of our eating this trip was done at F&W and the S/D Food Fest, we also enjoyed a wonderful meal at Yachtsman Steak House.

From our past trips we have enjoyed FF (still like YSH better), ESPN (better than Big River Grille), Dolphin Fountain (better than B&C for burgers), and I'l Mullino at the Swan.

I have to agree with Il Mulino and Shulas. Il Mulino even has a nice little court yard area they serve into for some dining outside. we try to do this every time we go.

as for boardwalk bakery, i TRY to stay away from the sweets but my nephew had an eclair there last month that i was told was fabulous. I might even give it a try in December.

Two of our favorites are on the Boardwalk, Flying Fish & Kouzzinas. We had breakfast at Kouzzinas last week and loved it.
