All in one computers

Does anyone have one of the all in one computers? If so, how do you like it?

I have one at work. I like it better than the desktop with the bulky tower. It takes up a lot less space, and it's got enough power to run some serious memory hogging programs (MS Publisher, Photoshop and AutoCad)

Hope that helps.

I have used my friends all in one, It a computer, if you are limited on space its great, if not I don't see any difference. they all do what they are supposed to do. I have an old school all in one, it's called a laptop.

I have an iMac. And it's amazing!! Makes no sound, I leave it on ALL THE TIME, and it's holding all my pics without getting bogged down. I'll never get another PC.

I've got the Samsung 700A3B all-in-one, with a 23" screen, and I love it! It is amazing, and I sure don't miss that big, bulky tower!
Two things:
1) If you get one, you might want to make sure it has a slot for a CD/DVD for games, movies, etc. if that's important to you. (it was to me!)
2) Make sure you get one with a screen that tilts. Depending on the angel of incoming light, I tilt mine every day.

Hope this helps. :)

It depends on what you plan to do with it.

If all you do is surf the web, print stuff out, etc, an all-in-one is great.

If you do serious gaming, use graphic-heavy programs, etc, you will need a tower.

I'm not sure if all-in-one's can be upgraded or anything so that might be something to look into if you would even consider putting in a different graphics card, memory, etc.

Have had a few in the past (at work), they can be nice for convenience reasons.

The big downside I'd point out, though, is that if you ever want to replace the computer, or the monitor, you're effectively having to replace both at once.

Also, the ability to expand or upgrade your system will likely be limited... certainly moreso than with a standalone computer that isn't packed into a combined monitor package.

I have the HP Omni Pro PC All in One. I do NOT recommend it! I have had nothing but trouble with it. The issues started right after the window to return it had passed (30 days), so I've had to deal directly with HP for everything. It has crashed multiple times, my sound keeps going out, and it constantly kicks me off the internet.
HP has had me do multiple troubleshooting sessions from home, and they have finally admitted that there is a problem with the hard drive. They still don't want to replace it, and are forcing me to have a local HP-approved tech come to my house to work on it.
I will never buy another HP product. I'm sure there are much better All in One products out there ~ I would steer clear of this one!

I'm not sure how that's weird...they are 2 different computers.
The reason I stated that I would never buy another HP product is based on the poor service that I have received.

At any rate, the OP asked for opinions, and I gave mine. Since HP has acknowledged that mine is definitely a hard drive issue, I thought that would be helpful information.

I second this. We love our iMac! It was our last piece in our plan to leave Dell behind. We even run Windows 7 on it, as well as OSX. - Suzanne

Owned a HP laptop once. Now no matter what great deal I see on HP I move right on. They had the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Will be replacing my old faithful Gateway in next month or so. Trying to sell my self on a Mac Air!!!

Huh, I was just coming to post that I have the HP Omni Pro 110 & love it. I've had it since Feb. without issues. I bought it at Wal Mart for $329 so you can't beat the price either.

I am definitely jealous! I bought mine at WalMart on Feb 5 this year and paid $398. I am glad you aren't having the same issues ~ it has been such a hassle!

Autocad alone is a beast so that's pretty impressive. My husband needed to get a laptop for school that could hold and run autocad and we needed to spend a pretty penny as far as laptops go to get something that would handle it and still allow him to game etc.

I have an all in one Mac and love it. We have had it for 4 years and never had a single issue.

Due to some family reasons, we have had some times the computer needed to be moved around the house some. Having the all in one made it so easy. I know a laptop is portable like that, but we needed a desk top.

Another victim of aweful customer service from HP. I will never buy another HP again.

Unless you are pressed for space look towards the tower.

The big difference between the two? $$$$$$$$$$

Like with like innards they will do the same thing.
