I have not posted in a while and this may have already been posted. My husband and I usually go to disney every year. We were married there. Next year will be our Fifth anniversary and we would like to go again. We Have thought about buying DVC in the past, but things just did not work out. But we have a new situation. This year we were unable to go to Disney do to the addition of four teenagers to our family. One went off to college this fall and do not care to go to Disney. He just interested in doing college stuff. That is fine but the other three want to go to Disney. We also like that we can go other places using DVC points.

Which resort will be comfortable for my husband and I with three teenagers? There ages are 16,15, and 13.Sometimes the 18 year old may want to go on vacation with us, so i need a place that will be comfortable for 6 of us. We are new to this parenting stuff but we will like to have nice time for us and for the kids.So I think it may be time for us to buy into DVC. What do you think. Thanks for all your help.

I think that you need to start reading all you can about owning a DVC contract. DVC works for some but not for others, that's why there are hundreds and hundreds of used contracts being sold each year.

You might be able to save some money on your room with a DVC ownership but you are locked in to repeat Disney vacations which are very expensive and increase in cost each year.

Using your points for anything other than a DVC stay is an expensive use of points and has restrictions.

Do your homework on the different resorts. You can save money by buying resale and with the size of your group, you will always want at least a two bedroom villa. You really won't want to trade outside of DVC because you just are not getting what you would at DVC. And it isn't always that easy trading out either. You need a long lead time to get what might be suitable.
