It looks like the old bmibaby route from my local airport to CDG has been taken on by flybe/air france :goodvibes. However, the prices aren't that great (or maybe I'm too used to getting there a lot cheaper than the prices are at the moment).

Do flybe or airfrance ever do good sales? I see flybe has a banner sale at the moment, but when I click through the offers theres nothing being offered in the sale for CDG at all, from any airport.

tbh elaine ive never seen any cheap seats for flybe :( im ever hopeful they will do sum sales, but not holding my breath.....

i miss bmi baby :sad1:

ah well, i'll just have to wait and see what the prices are like next month when I'm weighing up whether to fly (and from where) or take the indirect Eurostar for the first time.

tbh ive been lookin at eurostar - *** gettin a train from east mids parkway is quite easy and cheap.....

havent figured out the indirect - do u have to book it london to lille and then lille to dlp or what?? am a tad confused on that bit lol

when they release the fares at around 12 weeks before travel, you pay one fare to Eurostar from London to DLP, but you change at Lille :).

Tbh I have never seen them doing anything that cheap :sad1:. The only thing I can suggest is booking very early - like when the flights are released as they do progressively get more expensive once seats start to go.

We are flying with AF for our Christmas trip (Easyjet has now stopped from our local airport - or will have by the time we fly, so I am pleased we hadn't booked with them :crazy2:). We booked back in Feb and while it wasn't the cheapest flight I've ever booked, it was a fair price for 6 of us to be fair - and does include our luggage and a snack onboard.

It's a bit of a pain though as I'm not great at planning that far in advance :rotfl2: and have to steady myself to book so far ahead then churn about hotels and when to book - hoping for a good deal :rotfl:!

Hope you get sorted. Sadly Eurostar is out for us - it leaves too early for us to get down there. Would mean a nightstop both ways and I don't fancy getting into that when the girls are so little. Perhaps more of an option for you though as your DD is older :confused3!

PS - I am rubbish at knowing when new Flybe/AF flights are released - keeping a watch for winter next year but have no idea when it will be. If anyone does notice them go on sale, please would someone be kind enough to post on here if that is OK? :) Likewise if a sale comes up - we can hope :p.

im not good planning in advance, or bookin one part when i cant book the other lol

Just to second this, my girlfriend and I quite regularly either book or at least check the prices on the flybe website for southampton - manchester and not once have they had any kind of sale.

The prices can quite often be a pretty good price when booked far enough in advance (£40 - £50 each way), but we've never seen an actual sale...

see this is my issue - I'm used to paying no more than £60 return with Easyjet. So flybe would be a fair bit more.

thanks for the advice though guys.

I've found that if you book with Flybe as soon as dates are released (if you sign up to their newsletter they'll notify you when the next wave's released) they are cheaper than Air France, especially if you aren't paying for hold luggage. If you're booking closer to your dates then Air France will probably be cheaper.

We've only travelled in school holidays so not the best time of year - I think the lowest price seats we had were approx £38 each way but by the time the taxes are added they're not really so cheap after all.

Just booked ema to cdg with flybe for our 4 night trip next jan and it came to just over £200 with a case both ways and seats selected..... About the same as when we went with bmi baby in '08

If it helps, email from Flybe today to inform that Summer 2013 flights are now available.

Just checked, only up to March 2013 available on the web :confused3

ETA - I see Easyjet have released their summer flights today but still can't find anything on Flybe...

Can anyone please price up for next summer for flights to CDG on Flybe from an airport other than Newcastle? It's a bit odd as it's saying 2013 flights now released on the site but it's only letting me puts dates in until March 2013. Wondering now if my local airport isn't doing summer flights next year :confused3.

If someone could try it please and let me know.... TIA :goodvibes

ETA - Elaine, have you now booked your flights for next Feb?

Hi,

Looking at Exeter to CDG, I can book up until July 13th 2013 via the Flybe Website, yet Bristol to CDG is only until March 30th 2013.

So looks like it all depends on the airport. Still I'd hardly call July 13th as being Summer 2013, I'd have thought "Summer 2013" would have meant until at least end of August 2013.

Thank you for checking for me Iain - I thought I was going a bit mad! Hmm, very odd. Checked Air France and their flights are showing (and are not cheap already!! :rolleyes2). I'm not even sure what we are doing next summer (and I'm not that organised to book now) but I thought it would be nice to price up :lmao:. Never thought, I could have checked myself using a different airport, but I was beginning to wonder if I was doing something very wrong .

Elaine, have you now booked your flights for next Feb?

no, I'm still being slightly-disgruntled-of-Nottingham about the prices :p.
I'll wait and see what the indirect Eurostar fares are like when they come out in the middle of next month, and then make a decision.

Oh, I thought I'd read you have booked - or is that just your hotel? At least you can see your prices! Not sure what is going on with Newcastle.

Actually, AF flights aren't a great price, but don't seem to go up by much the nearer you get - so something to look out for. I priced up for Oct half term (this year) on a whim and the flight was the same price as next August....? :confused3

I work for FlyBE, can confirm that the entire Summer schedule isn't out yet, so be patient. As for people moaning about BMIBaby going, it's a little chicken and egg, you want the low fares but are then surprised that the company disappears as it can't support a business model on said fares :rolleyes2
