Hi there!

I read the tkt thread. Very comprehensive. Maybe I missed it, but I am trying to figure something out.

If I buy an AP (not at a Disney tkt office onsite) but don't use it until our trip, will I still qualify to book rooms at an AP discounted rate?

Thanks!

Yes. You may be asked to produce activated AP WIHIN 24 hours of check in though.

Thanks! :)

I would like to purchase the AP so I can qualify for an AP rate and get a discounted room, but not activate it until we actually have our first day at the parks. In doing this, I assume the activation = the first day of our "use year".... so if our first day is June 30th (day of activation), our tickets are good until the following year of June 30th, although we purchased the tickets in January?

Yes, that is correct. Your 366 days begin with the date your pass is used for the first time.

The AP at check in seems to not be so clear with disney. I have spoken to two different CM's about checking in at our resort. We too want to get an AP for our trip. One CM said as long as we had our voucher at checkin then we would be allowed to come back after getting the physical AP and show them. The last CM I spoke with said upon arriving at the hotel we would need to take transportaion to a park get our AP come back and then check-in. Just wanted to make you were aware that it doesn't seem to be black and white instead very grey as to the procedure.

1. When you call a Disney number, unless you really know the person you are specifically calling you are getting a call center. These are in Orlando, Tampa, Utah, North Carolina, Kansas and Texas. Some of the people working at them have never been to WDW or DLR.

2. For at least a year the people on the phones have said you cannot pick up package tickets early. Nobody has reported this actually happening. And there are CMs on this board who say it is not true.

3. For several years people at reservations have been saying that you cannot use a MNSSHP or MVMCP ticket to get into MK before 7:00. For many years the actual policy is you can get into MK with a Party ticket at 4:00.

4. If you ask a question on DisBoards (especially this forum) and person gives a wrong answer there will be at least a half dozen people jumping in with the correct information.

Yes, agree that this is correct. When I made my ressies the CM was SUPER helpful, lived in Orlando & visited the parks regularly. We chatted for a while. ;) We are driving in & already have our AP vouchers. She suggested stopping at Guest Relations at DTD & getting them activated before we check in since we have time in our schedule, and will be using the passes later that day to see Fantasmic anyway. She said it's likely we'll have to produce the passes upon check-in, but there was no problem with making our reservations using the AP discount.
