Hi!
I have a very fussy eater- pasta w butter, cheese quesadillas, hot dogs, cheese pizza- are there options for her? I'd love to take her somewhere special on her birthday, suggestions?
Thanks!

Her choices in food sound like most of the choices on the kids menus at most Disney restaurants. I think she'll be just fine. Have you looked at any of the menus yet?? I think that CRT would be a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday (we've celebrated many of them there).

We have one gd who is a fussy eater and she only ate the cheese pizza at Cinderella's castle(very pricey pizza.lol)

This year we are going to Trail's End so she can have her pizza or nuggets and the rest of us can have a variety of food to choose from and not pay an arm and leg. We have six children in our group and most of them have plastic taste buds, so we stay away from a lot of WDW restaurants.

I looked at the menus but only saw like 3 options. Is that right? I'm wondering if I should not go w a dining plan- my husband eats about once a day, and my 4 year old eats about 3 things! If I don't get the plan can I still go to great Disney restaurants?

My kids' taste buds have recently expanded; however, they used to be very picky also. We always felt safe with the buffets. There are always basic children options, and my kids would eat things from the carving stations (not sure if yours will).

As for her birthday, Birnbaum's says "Best Place to Celebrate a Child's Birhtday" is at Chef Mickey's. Lots of people complain about the food on here, but just as many like it. We enjoyed our meal there very much. Our food and service were great, but most of all the Fab 5 are there!!

Wonderful suggestion, she loves Minnie! Do you need a dining plan to get in there? I mean, do I need to have a plan to call ahead and make a reservation or would I be able to get in
If I went first thing that morning?

You definitely need a reservation. I'm not sure when you are going, but if it's soon you would need to call several times a day to try and get one. Another option to see Minnie would be Cape May at the BC. They have a breakfast and dinner buffet and should be much easier to get a reservation. I have personally not been (planned for our next trip ), but hey, Minnie is there!

No dining plan needed. Just call or go online 180 days before arrival and you can make ressies. Don't expect to get in anyplace in WDW without a ressie. It is possible but not too often!!! DS +DDIL got a bunch of walk ins but it was the week after Labor Day and kids just went back to school and there was no one in the parks! :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:

Anybody can go to any restaurant. The dining plan is just one way to pay for food. Think of it as a package for your meals. Personally we don't like having the dining plan as it dictates what we have to order (entree, dessert, drink at every meal) and we prefer to order what we feel like at the time (an appetizer sometimes, just water to drink, sharing a dessert, etc.). For us, paying out of pocket is much less expensive.

We ate breakfast at Cape May last year and it was wonderful. The dinner buffet is seafood, so I'm guessing with picky eaters that wouldn't be a good option for you. Cape May is at the Beach Club near EP, by the way. You could eat breakfast there then walk to EP.

Doesn't sound like the dining plan makes sense for your family. It really doesn't save much money anyway (just allows you to have dessert with every meal) but many people do it for the convenience. You'll be just fine without it, but do make reservations (ADRs) ahead of time- up to 180 days if you know where you want to eat. You can make ADRs online and you can always change them.

Based on what you posted I would probably not get the Dining Plan.

The Dining Plan is just a way to prepay for food.

Anyone can make a reservation if there is availability, you need to call Disney Dining or look at times online and book there.

There is always counter service meals and they usually have very kid friendly stuff.

DS15 was/is a picky eater and we have never had a problem...check menus on Allears. Most buffets had chicken fingers, and if the place served pasta on the kids menu, most were willing to make it with a butter sauce.

I also suggest Chef Mickey's for the birthday dinner. It is a fairly large buffet with characters, and is lots of fun. No dining plan needed, just be sure to make ADRs for any TS meals you want to have. I really don't think you will have much problem finding food for dd. If nothing on menu looks good for her, I think just about any TS place will make a plate of noodles with butter. You should have no problem finding kid-friendly food!

Fortunately you do NOT need a dining plan to go to Disney restaurants. The plan is just a way to prepay your meals if you prefer to.

It does not sound like your group eats the way the dining plan requires you to eat. The exception might be if your intent is to do a lot of buffets, character meals or fixed price restaurants that serve family style.

You should make a reservation for Chef Mickey's. When is your trip? Reservations can be made starting 180 days from when you want to dine, and Chef Mickey's is popular enough to book up early. You can't count on a walkin, so you need to be proactive, especially for a special birthday meal.

My VERY picky son (only eats chicken nuggets, pizza, PLAIN hamburgers) found something on every kids menu in Disney that he would eat! He even discovered that he liked ketchup while we were there!
