Ouch  sorry to hear about your toes - sounds painful.
That is so neat - we would love one! Thank you for the generous offer.

Tammy
The only painful thing is knowing it was a result of my own stupidity! And I'll have a message board for you at the meet.

Seriously? These are just perfect. I would love two of them (one for us and one for DM's cabin), if it's truly not too much trouble. There's a drink of the day in it for you :thumbsup2

We would love one as well. And I'd LOVE to share a DOTD with you in thanks.

Mary Lou

Not trouble that all and I'll have them for you guys at the meet. Your offer for a DOTD is very generous but is not necessary at all. It is a very simple design of a clear plastic presentation cover over a peice of paper. The idea came to me when we were looking at dry erase for our first cruise, they were bulky and expensive and we didn't want to pay that for something that we knew wasn't coming home with us! But I am always up for a drink paired with some great conversation!

That is perfect, I would love to have one too. I was wondering how I was going to leave messages for my dad in case our cabins were not close together. And then it will be perfect on the fridge for when we get back home. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Arlene

We love using the board for messages between cabins. It works wonders. We first used it before the wave phones and we still perfer it over the phones. I do not want to carry a phone with me on vacation and worry about losing it or try to txt in T9. We leave messages about where and when to meet for lunch or an activity along with reminders. Hope it works as well for you guys. Do you need one or two?

We are late seating for dinner. I am a bit sad about that with an almost 2yr old who goes to bed at 7pm.

If they don't cost you much we could love you own. Genius idea on how you make them!!

Good morning! So much has happened since I booked that I have not been able to get on the boards. I am finally caught up and need to just chat.

On Sept 20th....well first a brief history. My DH and I live on our sailboat. We have been in a slip in Alameda, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) for six years and on Sept 15th we cut the lines and started cruising. We were (are) headed to San Diego where on Oct 29th we will join the Baja Ha Ha, a group of a 145 boats, and sail to Cabo San Lucas. After a few days there we will sail to LaPaz and then fly out of there to do this cruise. Then back to LaPaz where we will cruise Mexico for the next two years.

So, back to Sept 20th. We were sailing from Captiola to Stillwater Cove when I was going up the steps to the cockpit and a wave hit the side of the boat just as I turned loose to enter the cockpit. It pivoted me and with great force threw me on the cabin floor on my back. When we got anchored I went to Urgent Care in Monterey. Gave me pain pills and sent me home. After two days a friend came to get me and I jumped ship for land. I stayed with her for a week and then flew to Phoenix to stay with my son and family. This last week I went to a spine specialist and had an MRI. Waiting on those results but he thinks I have fractured two vertebrae. I cannot sit up straight or walk for any length. So laying down on my side is the only option right now. Besides hurting I am BORED.

Our son left Phoenix today to go join my DH in San Luis Obispo to take the boat to San Diego. My son and DH will then come to Phoenix until I am able to go back to the boat.

Oct 4th was our 37th anniversary and we were apart. After years of not being together on that date due to work assignments we thought this year we would for sure. You just never know what is going to happen. Hug those close to you every chance you get!

This is my fourth Disney cruise and my DH's third. I did the WBTA Sept 2010 and we have done the WBPC Jan 2011 and the MR Dec 2011. We are excited about this cruise and look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks for letting me ramble on....

Oh, yes, we are in a 5B. Do you need that for the cabin crawl?

Judy :banana::banana::banana:

I made these "dry earse" boards for our cabin doors. If anyone is interested in one for your door, I can make you one. The board measures 8"x8". I will bring them without magnets on the back (less weight for me) so just bring sticky magnet strips with you and a BLACK dry earse marker. I can bring them to the first day meet.

This is so great, I would LOVE a couple of these however if you get too many requests let me know I don't want it to be a burden. We will have 4 rooms and I am so worried about coordinating our whereabouts. I would also love to buy you a drink to thank you for your time!

Judy,

I'm SO sorry to hear about your back, I have had several back injurys and really feel for you on both the pain and the frustration that comes from being stuck on your back (or side) and your mind is awake and bored but you can't move. Just wanted to send you some good healing vibes and hope your recovery is a fast one.

I found the small portable gel packs (picked up at a medical supply store) you heat in the microwave were helpful, I would use them every time I had to sit in the car for more than a few minutes.

Congrats on your anniversary! You and DH will have to postpone the celebration till you can enjoy it, but you can pick a day (or weekend) and focus on it again.

Hugs & Healing! -Laurie (RoxyHive)

I would love one, too. You are super creative and generous!

Last night I got a little too involved in the WVU vs. Texas game and during the course of the game, my right foot made forceable contact with the coffee table and I broke three toes! This of course is completely the fault of WVU defense and their inability to stop the ball (except when needed in the 4th quater) and had nothing to do with the amount of drinks consumed last night. On a positive note, DH and I got to play with the x-ray machine at his work, WVU ended up winning(barely) and I got to see Rich Rod and Arizona lose in OT. Overall it was a good day. Running might have to be put on hold for a bit though. Glad we decided not to do the Wine and dine half marathon.

Anyway, it reminded me, who torn their ACL? How are you feeling and when is your surgery?

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear about your toes! I did have my surgery almost 3 weeks ago. I got a brand new ACL and he stitched my medial meniscus. That's better for me in the long run but the recovery is longer. I'm still in my robo-cop brace with crutches and no weight on it yet. I go back to work tomorrow so that should be lots of fun. Back to the doctor in about 10 days, hoping I can start walking on it then! I can't wait for the cruise - it's been nice having something to look forward to. It's funny, the last two years we have done the Disney half (my husband does the Dopey) and we decided not to this year. Guess we knew!

I would absolutely love to have one! How did you make this? :goodvibes

Our cute family of four have booked this cruise. Our first cruise no less. We want to do fish extenders but it won't let me PM anyone because I am new here. If anyone can help me out that would be great. As of this minute I can't find my room number, I don't believe we have been assigned it yet.
There is so much to look forward to I am a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks for any help.
Hallie

Welcome aboard! I have added you to the roll call on Page 6/Post 77. If you want, let me know the names and/or ages of your family and I can also add that to the list.

WOW! Between ACL repairs, fx toes and vertebrae, this is definitely a group in need of a Disney cruise ::yes::::yes::::yes:: (I have bad knees, but my biggest pain at the moment is my sister-in-law...does that count?). So sorry to hear of your ailments; definitely hoping for the best possible outcomes :thumbsup2

I truly try to be happy and count my blessings every single day; seriously, you never know what will happen in the next five minutes, much less tomorrow.

What a great idea...I never would have thought of it :confused3. I considered buying a couple but thought they would be too bulky. The bags will be overstuffed as it is (and I'm sure I'm not alone). But the offer of a drink still stands :flower3:.

We are late seating for dinner. I am a bit sad about that with an almost 2yr old who goes to bed at 7pm.
Did you ask your TA to put in a request for 1st seating if it becomes available (or did you ask DCL if you booked yourself)? Alternatively, when you board the ship, ask where dining changes can be made (usually in one of the clubs) and go there immediately to request a change or put your name on a waiting list. You never know!

Thanks for letting me ramble on....

I had to smile...despite all your pain and disappointment, your last comment was completely unselfish. :rose:Very nice. And happy belated anniversary.

I think that the message board is nice.
Hey pug:, I emailed you...check to see if you received it, since I'm not sure I got your address right.

Good idea! I gave dry erase board as a FE gift on our med cruise back in 2010 before the days if wave phones!

Hello all--- We're new to cruising and I'm trying to find out some more info regarding "formal" dinner evenings. What if you're not into wearing a tie and coat and your other half says she doesn't think she even owns a dress anymore. Is the formal thing optional or should you plan to just dine elsewhere on formal nights

Hollyjolly do you by chance have copies of the Personal Navigators from that cruise? I know there will be a lot of difference but it would be nice to get some idea of what to expect.:thumbsup2

Hi disneyrick. Sorry I haven't been quicker to respond; I've not been on the boards the past couple days. I've looked in all my normal places around the house that I would have stashed Navigators - and found them for every other cruise we've taken, plus the paperwork we had from our stay at Disneyland after the Panama Canal in 2011, but no PC Navigators. I must have decided to put them in a really safe place... :confused3 If I can think of another place to look and manage to find them, I'll try to post them here.

I remember a lot of good special events - Don "Ducky" Williams sessions, show with Susan Egan (original Broadway Belle), talks from a retired PC pilot, Jimmy Buffet tribute band, Crew Talent Show, BBQ on deck on PC crossing day (all of which I would recommend). Other things we didn't attend included a Cirque du Soleil-type show, a Mexican song and dance group, and voiceover sessions. Hope that helps. :)

The fashion police will not be present on the cruise. Feel free to dress how you like. However, I wouldn't show up in a t-shirt, board shorts, and sandals. I think business casual would be a minimum.

Exactly. I wear a skirt and sweater set, but black pants and a nice top would be fine for "your other half". It's vacation, but you also don't want to offend anyone ;) (and yes, some guests consider themselves the fashion police, but who cares about them? :rotfl2:). DH wears a coat and tie because he enjoys it, but plenty of men don't. Some people also wear ballgowns and tuxes (especially for formal pictures)...to each their own! No need to dine elsewhere those nights.

Since there will be two formal nights we will likely dress for one in the full long dresses for pictures and then go more semi-formal for the other. It is just too hard to pack it all!
