PART TWO *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Morning ya'll!

For our souveniers? The ONE thing I WILL buy, that I completely regret not buying in June, is an ESPN travel mug at Team Mickey store at DTD. It's pink and reads: "Yes, I'm a girl, Yes, I know the game, Yes, I watch Sports Center"... this will be the one and only thing I buy for myself.

That is awesome and just went on my list. :thumbsup2

So confession time here - I haven't actually TRIED the shirt on yet. I just opened the package and was like "OH, um wow so skinny cut" and decided I didn't want to depress myself by actually seeing what I look like in it... but I'll take it for the team and try it on tonight - I'm thinking thermal fabric is kinda forgiving and stretchy?? I'm hoping that's the case...

Ok you have to try on the shirt before complaining about it!! :rotfl:

Well, I'll let you know how my Trendy Tops go ... I'm hoping they might pull you in a bit :teeth:

Thermal is normally very forgiving ;)

This trip in 56 days was a total and complete surprise... having just been in June and my trip before that was 7 years prior - there was no way I would've ever imagined being back in less than 6 months. So in June we went to the Christmas store and bought a few ornaments but there were SOOO many I wanted. So I feel you - there are just too many beautiful ornaments to pick from, it's really tough to walk out with just one! We have two trees one more formal and the family room (more whimsical) tree... I bought us all little Mickey ear hat ornaments and I'll use a white paint pen to add our names. This trip I plan on getting the pack of four Mickey head shaped ornaments that are painted as different characters: Mickey, Donald, Minnie and Goofy...

Can't wait! :goodvibes

Hmm, I might order a couple anyway then. If I don't like them it's not exactly hard to return them to the Disney Store at the mall. $12 for a thermal shirt is kind of hard to pass up - a plain one from a department store would cost at least as much! And maybe if it's just a LITTLE snug it'll be a good incentive to actually stick to Weight Watchers and going to the gym regularly until the trip. I swear there should be a warning on this thread for shopaholics to avoid it!

Totally understand about splurging because you don't think you'll be back for awhile. We were just at DL in April for sissy's 30th birthday and figured it'd be a couple years before we got back to Disney, so we WAY overdid it on the shopping......six months later and I'm sitting here with a Christmas trip booked. :hyper: If we keep going back this frequently, I'm going to have to look into buying into DVC though.

I WISH I had enough room in our house for 2 trees! It seems every year we end up having to make a choice between doing the tree up with the "fun" ornaments or the "fancy" ones! I MUST find that four pack of ornaments :thumbsup2

I saw that mug and was instantly IN LOVE!! I had it in hand and when I went to buy it the line was soooo long I had to put it back. We were shopping against the clock that morning. I called retail services when I got back and was going to buy it through them but the cost of shipping was more than half the cost of the mug. LOL, now I'm paying $1200 more to go and pick it up! :lmao:

Oh and about the shirt... there was no way I was in "that" mood when the shirt came in the mail... you know? kinda like shopping for swimsuits - you have to have the right mindset. And when I saw my cute Mickey shirt and thought "this might fit my thigh" I just resided myself to knowing it wouldn't fit... :rolleyes2 and put it right back in the bag...

Oh my gosh... this is nuts... now I HAVE to know how it fits.
I'm at work
Shirt is in my car
I'm gonna go try it on
at work
because I NEED to know
so I can buy more...

I'll be back

Mornin everyone! Catching up on the posts makes me panic!! I just realized how much I still have to do and how bad I need a list. Technically i'm still not done with ADRs =( i'm still waiting for Teppan Edo to open up for a 6 or 8 Candlelight Processional for Dec 22 and sill waiting for Universal to open up Character breakfast with the Grinch for December. Finalize our matching T's designs , buy the T's (hopefully by now they're marked down to $1.50 each at Wal Mart) & take them to the print shop. Find 2 , 3' trees and lights for our resort and decorations.

Ok done - tried it on and yes, I'm keeping it.
I like the low cut scoop collar and the sleeves are on the long side but not anything I'll need to flip up/over... now for the true, across the chest/tummy fit - that wasn't horrible. This will be the type of shirt you wear with bottoms that don't give a person muffin top. KWIM? I see this shirt as getting more and more loose with every wear and wash.

Current measurements of shirt (brand new)
across chest (laying flat/not stretched): 17 inches
torso: 15 inches across
waist area: 15 1/2 inches
from top of the shirt (shoulder) to hem: 28 inches. it's a little long

I'm relieved! I think it's super cute and manfriend's is so cool also - I love that we'll have semi-matching shirts :p

Would love to get in on the room decorating or at least windows... has anyone ever seen or decorated a room at the Hilton? That's where we're staying. I'd love to have balcony lights but don't know if these rooms even have one? Maybe some window clings or a lighted window ornament?

Or in some cases a 'busted open can of biscuits' top :rotfl:

Glad you like it! I need to check them out, thanks for the recommendation :)

Hooray! Glad it worked for you! Long is good for me - I'm 6'1"! Off to order them from the Disney Store.......hey, who needs to actually do, you know, work, when you're at work when you can shop instead!

Yes. Haha! I actually have a Google Doc that I copy over ever time I'm going somewhere. I'm a dork.

Me too. I've always kept a standard packing list for each person in the family. I use Evernote/Nimbulist now. And I have a separate one for Disney and beach house trips because those require special things. Packing never stresses me out because I never worry about forgetting something. I just check it off the list. Plus DS can do most of his own packing now.

I don't think I told you guys about our Around the World in a Box ... I'm excited about this!

I am going to a craft store to buy each of the family an unfinished box approx 12x6x6". Print out old luggage stickers of each country in the World Showcase (remember how people used to stick those on their suitcase to show where they'd been?) straps & handle so that it looks like a little suitcase.

Then the task is, in each country we have to find an interesting item less than $5 (the cheaper and more interesting the better) that screams of that country. We cant discuss with each other what we've bought.

At the end of the day, we will all show each other what we got as we put the items in their suitcase :)

I thought it would be a cool thing for my DD to do and fun for the rest of the family. We didn't pay that much attention to each each shop last time and I thought this would be a good way to get to know a bit more about the countries.

I love this idea!

This is a great idea, and similar to something I'm doing. The last 2 trips I've meant to pick up something small in each country, and haven't. I'm doing it for sure this time. :goodvibes

My Souvenir List:

-Pick a Pearl
-Something from each country in WS
-Shirt for my father
-Something for my mother
-Something for myself from MVMCP
-a hat for my friend

Also 55 Days!!!! And I'm paid off! :dance3:

That's a great reason for planning another trip!! Maybe I'll try that after this one...But honey, we have to go back. I saw a mug I really want. :rotfl:

Woohoo! 59 days.

So I got the answer from Robo about AM EMH - nothing on Main Street is open, including the Bakery. So last night I reworked the plan to hit FL for a hour or so then take the RR back to MS. That certainly optimizes line times for things like Peter Pan so I'm happy with it.

Though it does seem odd that they wouldn't even have the bakery open at that hour.
