Question for friends of Bill W

Does anyone know if there are meetings anywhere on property? My DH attends a meeting daily at home. Every other trip we have rented a car and he's gone to meetings in the Orlando area. I was just thinking there might be something closer.

We've never attended a meeting in Orlando, but periodically check out the state website just so we'd know what was available. The Royal Plaza was listed as the closest meeting for years, but when DH checked last week, he found a different hotel listed........ exact same days/times as the meetings previously listed at the Royal Plaza.

It's the Orlando Vista Hotel, 12490 Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando.

It doesn't appear to be very far off WDW property, but looks like you'd need a car to get there.

When I was looking for my DF, I first called Disney & was given another number to call. My DF didn't need a car, this was last year.

Thank you to everyone for the information. We will stick to renting a car as daily meetings are essential. Thanks again!

For 2 cruises, DW and I always wondered who those cool "Friends of Bill W" were who sailed with us on every trip and had a special meet-up every morning listed in our Navigator. It wasn't until DSIL told us on cruise #3 what it was! We felt so dumb and thought it was SO COOL all at the same time. Good for our AA friends to have support on the cruise!

Btw- nearest AULANI, there is a weekly guest meeting at the Ko Olina Marina Clubhouse.

Sadly, it seems WDW doesn't bend over backwards to make meetings convenient, they kinda like the control thing. Perhaps a few locals could arrange an impromptu meeting like the "Wharf Rats" had at grateful dead shows. Food and wine at Epcot has felt like walking through a minefield at times, and a little chance for support and service would be very appreciated.

With 2 little girls chasing their fastpasses, a 3pm meeting is a hard bargain for my family, so I applaud the OP. Thank you for prioritizing what really matters for your family.
We will be in wdw oct 30-nov 6 so if anyone wants to set up a "flash" meeting I'd be happy to meet somewhere. MK is already alcohol-free!:thumbsup2

We were bummed about Be Our Guest serving alcohol as well. I do wish there were on property meetings. It seems like disney would support that. At any rate, our days are planned around that 3pm meeting. Helps guarantee everyone a wonderful trip. :)

We are regulars at the 3 PM meeting when we go to WDW, the folks there are extremely nice, i consider that my 'home group' when i go to Orlando

So nice to hear that. :) The 3pm time should be perfect for me to take the kids back to the resort
for a rest and DH to head to a meeting!

My sponsor says anywhere you are there is a meeting... you just have to watch. sometimes it's the ones you are witnessing living their "story"(to be told later), that have kept me sober. Good job planning ahead.

Congrats!
