Where would you stay?

Some friends and our family of thinking of going to Disneyland in January. There would be 4 adults, a 14 year old, and a 3 year old. We usually stay at Super 8 on Katella but their rooms would be really crowded for all of us (we stayed there with 4 adults and a 2 year old and it was cramped). We are not high maitenance or overly picky. Clean and no bed bugs with enough space to sleep comfy. A nice pool is a bonus but not necessary. We also are trying to do this trip on the cheap as we just went in August and were not planning another trip so money is tight. Here is what I have short listed:
Eden Roc - best price for 3 queen beds (a little less than 100 a night)
Alamo Inn - next best price for 3 queens (about 120 a night)
Anaheim Plaza - most expensive of our options at 160 but is closer
Days Inn - 125 a night

Anyone ever stay in any of these and what are your opinions. Would like to book in the next couple of weeks if I get the green light.

You might try the Del Sol Inn, particularly if you have an annual pass. We got an annual pass rate of $69/night in early December, and they are VERY close to Disneyland.

Can't seem to get a rate for Del Sol as it says we exceed maximum occupancy for adults.

Call them. They have a double queen with bunk bed room that would be perfect for your group. The room is pretty roomy to! The del sol is a hidden gem.

We stayed at The Homewood Suites in May, and really liked it! it is about a mile from the park(not sure if that matters) Our room had a living area with pull out couch, kitchenette, and then a separate bedroom with 2 queens.

They have a free daily hot b-fast, and also a free dinner that is served M-TH.

They have a shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour for a small fee, and there is a Target right across the street, and many restaurants near by.

We were able to get a AAA rate for 120.00/night.

Have you looked at Desert Inn and Suites? I just booked four nights in February for $69/night. They have "suites" with 4 queens or you could just get two rooms. Haven't stayed there before but location can't be beat and it gets better reviews than the Castle Inn (which I have stayed at twice and thought was just fine!)

I agree with the posters who are suggesting Del Sol and Desert Inn & Suites. Both are super close to the parks, maybe a 7 minute walk. They aren't luxurious by any means, but they are clean and the rooms have more space than a typical motel, especially Del Sol.

We've done Del Sol twice now, and I was able to get $85 a night with the fourth night free through Get Away Today, so that might be worth looking into. But you may have to call them or the hotel directly if you have that many people in the room, I think the website just defaults to a standard 2-queen room. I haven't stayed in the kids suite with the bunk beds, but I've heard it is good. The room will be crowded with that many people, but it sounds like that isn't a deal breaker for you, so it's for sure worth looking into!

I've only stayed here once. Had the worst customer experience ever. My wife booked 2 queens non-smoking. When we went to check in we were told we selected 2 queens smoking. My wife informed that that we had in fact booked non-smoking and had the confirmation email stating this. We were told that the system is correct, we were wrong and that all of the rooms were sold out. Upset we had no choice but to take our room. As we were leaving check-in the customer behind us asked if they had any rooms with 2 queens left and the girl at the desk said yes, would you like non-smoking?

The bed was horrible and we could hear everyone through the walls. This place was horrible. We only paid like $45 but will never return. Plus the beds were so bad that no one in my family slept and were in pain the next day.

On the good side, it was only a 15 min walk to the park and we only spent maybe 8 hours in the hotel room. We just went to hang out at elecTRONica on a Saturday night.

I have stayed at the radisson buena park. It's a 10 minute walk to Knotts Berry Farm. They have a free shuttle. I never made it to the park because when I went down to the bar to have a beer before leaving, i found out they had happy-hour (free well drinks & domestic beers and free chips and salsa). After drinking there for free for 2 hours we decided to go back to our room and just take it easy. No way were we going out after drinking that much so fast. It was kind of like an all you can eat buffet and we ate all we could eat.

The room was nice, it had a separate living room with a pull out couch, it looked nice inside and they was a free breakfast buffet in the morning (eggs, hash-browns, bacon, oat meal, waffles, cereal, orange juice, coffee, milk, toast...

I think my room was $129 for a King, the kids didn't come this time, and it was a Friday?

The first few sites I looked at never had availability at a decent rate but I just found one that does, this may be our choice as it serves its purpose so unless someone has a better option, this is the way we are leaning!

What nights in January? The Howard Johnson Anaheim is offering 50% off for nights at the end of the month and someone in a thread about their email said they got two 2-queen rooms for $59.50 each (which is a GREAT deal). We like HoJo since it's a hotel (indoor corridors) instead of a motel (door faces the outside) and our stays there have always been great. They also have two water areas, one with a nice pool, kinda quiet, and one that's super fun and cool with water park features and a baby pool. You can see some pics HERE.
