California Grill - Napa Room August next year??

Hey gals! I was hoping to use the Napa room next year in August after my Escape wedding for a private meal but of course they are closing Cali Grill for renovations with a "late summer" estimated opening.

Has anyone inquired with Disney about using the Napa room in August next year? I mean, have they given any idea if you can still use the Napa room? I am assuming you won't be able to use the room unless Cali Grill is open and that they won't let anyone book that room until after a certain date - but what is that date?

Napa room was PERFECT for us and I'm totally bummed about possibly not getting to use it. Not sure what my other options will be if this one won't work out (I do have Carrie's Passporters book, just not sure which other room will work out as perfectly). I've just recontacted my wedding sales person (Stacey) and am starting up the actual process again of booking (have to start a planning thread!!) but I am dying to get the answer to this question while I wait for her to get in contact with me.

As a follow up, in case anyone beside me was interested (though no one else posted!), I spoke with my wedding coordinator today. She said that as of right now the California Grill is marked for rehab and off limits to them from the end of January 2013/early February to the end of July 2013. That includes both the Napa Room and the Sonoma Room. They don't expect either room to have any decor changes but they aren't 100% certain of that.

Just an FYI.

She also sent me some info on some other rooms that I didn't realize would be available to me, like the St James room and Sago Cay - I thought they were only available to Wishes Brides. I have Carrie's book but St James is listed in the Wishes section, I'll have to go reread more carefully!

The napa room isn't an option for Escape brides anyway, it's only the Sonoma room although if Napa is still free a couple of weeks out they may allow you to swap.

Thanks for the info! It's listed in the Passporter's Book in the Escape Section under possible private rooms and I'm still in the processing of confirming all the info with my coordinator. But now that she sent me other rooms I wasn't aware of I'm looking into many other options. But thank you! I need to start a Planning Journal, I need so much help

The various private event venues listed in the Escape chapter of the book are just a sampling of what's been most popular with Escape couples. Although DFTW can get kinda fussy about which rooms are available to Escape, I wouldn't let that stop you from investigating the venues mentioned in the Wishes chapter. It never hurts to ask (especially when policies and availability change all the time the way they do at Disney).
