Hi Folks-

I'm doing a split stay between GC and DLH. Does anyone know if they will transfer my luggage?

I would imagine that they would, but even if they don't, it is very close, so taking it over shouldn't take too much effort.

It's been mentioned on this board in the past that the DLR hotels do not provide luggage transfer service. I imagine it's worth asking about when you first check in, but be prepared to move stuff yourself. As the PP stated, the distance between your two resorts isn't very much.

Maybe not, but with the price you pay, you'd think they would offer this service. Dang Disney can be cheap!

Agreed! They offer this service at WDW, so you'd think it would be available at DLR where the distance between the three Disney hotels is tiny in comparison.

We are doing the same in early Nov. When I called and asked bell services directly, they said it was a big MAYBE. It depends on how busy they are that day.

At the very least they will store your luggage until midnight on the day you check out.

So, ask and you might get lucky and they will do it for you, but the service is not guaranteed.

Thanks for the replies. I am a WDW vet and so DLR policies always surprise me. Still...I won't complain seeing as how I am staying at two beautiful hotels...

Life will go on!!

Remember that DLR and WDW are two very different beasts. The policies are bound to be different because of this. WDW caters to the vacation type and DLR is more like a day visit type of thing. I wouldn't expect DLR to have luggage service, but I'd expect that of WDW. DLR doesn't have hotels upon hotels sprawled around the resort. There are just three hotels and they're not far from each other. There's really no need for luggage service.

That really depends on your group/family. A family of 4 staying on-site at DLR for 5 or 6 days can have a significant amount of luggage, especially with very young ones in tow. In that case, it would be a real PIA to move the stuff from one DLR hotel to another on your own.

I just called the Grand to ask about the same thing for us and they said that they have a golf cart to transport luggage from the Grand to the Disneyland Hotel so your mileage may vary.

That is true, though I still don't think it's an absolute need.

I agree with wdwrich on this one. I've been to DL before, and the idea of even two people toting suitcases across DTD is not fun.

Thanks, I will certainly ask nicely at the hotel if they can offer any help.

To me its not a matter of need....its a matter of excellent customer service which disney is slowly forgetting the meaning of.

Maybe??? They should be giving EVERYone the same answer. MAYBE they will if your last name is Rockefeller. haha

I'm gunna bump this thread to see if anyone has got any more recent advice or experience.

Cheers

On our trip, staying "2 and 2" (two night Grand Californian, two nights Disneyland Hotel) Nov 4,5,6,7, We moved our own luggage. It was just easier for us. Is was not a busy time of year, and bell services said they would for sure move the luggage, they just couldn't guarantee when the bags would arrive in our room.

I didn't want to be wondering if our bags were moved, if I wanted to change or something mid day etc... We had a car on property so we moved the bags into the car and went to the park at opening. Then later in afternoon we walked back to the car and drove it over to the DH parking lot. Worked out just dandy.

Loved staying at BOTH hotels. Never stayed at either before and they are both very different and very lovely. Also it was just two adults, no kids, so moving rooms was not a big deal.

We've had help with luggage twice. Once was PPH to GC and the other was GC to DLH. They have golf cart type vehicles and moved us and our luggage.
