B&P's VR 11/10/2012 UK/AAP/UKDP Day 1 Arrival & Epcot 6/10

I'm catching up, finally! I feel like I'm not too far behind, though, because facebook helps, haha.

Anyways:

•The bouts are amazing. I love all the personality put into them.
•Isadora Ann is beautiful, but on you--AMAZING! I love it with the veil too! SO PRETTY, BETHIE!
•The character pin gifts are so cute. If I was a guest, which one would I get? ;)
•It must feel extra good checking off all these projects--I'm happy to hear you get to go down a little bit early too!

Rest up and have a speedy recovery! :wizard:

Can't wait for another post.

The pins are so adorable! That is such a genius idea to assign each person a character and present it so nicely and with a gift too! I just love it. That really had to take a very long time, and I am sure the sentiment and effort won't be lost on your guests :D. Love the update !

Thanks, Ali! The characters have been a huge part of our planning and so much fun to pick for our guests. I can't wait for our guests to get them.

Wow! I know I've said it before but your events are going to be so amazing!!! I cannot wait to see all the amazing photos from everything!! :goodvibes

I cannot wait to have dinner with you both! Milton and I have never eaten there so it will be a first and we cannot wait!!

I'm going to be working on your stuff very soon, I need to place an order for pink crystals of course though as I used all the ones I had for the two baby shoes that I just completed last week.

I'll be sure to email you photos as I finish your products :yay:

Amanda,

Thank you!

We are really looking forward to our dinner too! I hope we get a seat by the tank. :cloud9:

I love the pics you have sent me so far and can't wait to see everything!

Hi Danielle!

Thank you, as always, for all your great comments.

I love the bouts too! They were so worth the wait. I spoke to our officiant last night and she talked at length about her Cubs and Hawkeyes, so I know she will love hers!

Gee, if Danielle were able to come what character would she be....Mulan, maybe?? Not sure, but it just seems like you. :rotfl:

Very excited to keep crossing stuff off the list. Plan on getting a lot done this weekend. It's time to really start crossing stuff off the list.

Thanks for the pixie dust for the recovery. I am about 50% better, if I had to put a number on it. I have to call my doctor next week with an update and decide where we go from here. I will keep everyone posted.

Hope all is well in NH.

It's getting closer and closer YAY!!

Dee,

It is scary close now! Are you getting excited about your trip??? Can't wait to see you on Saturday!

after lots of reading- i LOVE your PJ! everything looks great. esp. your dress!!!

Thanks so much for reading everything and your kind words about my dress. I have a bunch more to get posted soon, so I hope you keep reading! popcorn::

Ahhh! How have I missed all your updates! Everything, especially your dress, look phenominal!

Thanks, NOP! I really do love my dress, I am so excited to see it all put together.

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Looking forward to meeting face to face on that Saturday too. Yes, I am getting really excited about our trip. Things are finally coming together for us. Things are on a positive swing these days finally. (knock on wood).

Glad you are on the mend.

Can't wait to see your next updates. I always get inspiration from you. :)

I was thinking of you with those few rainy, damp days we had. Hope the RA wasn't too bad.

Thanks for thinking of me. Weather hasn't been too bad for me. My foot seems to be at a standstill. I am headed for an MRI on Monday. I am also looking into a scooter :moped: for those 2 weeks, not sure how much I will use it, but depending on how I am, it might be best to have it on hand.

Glad things are going well for you. How is the start of the school year coming along? Can't wait to see you in November.

:moped: sounds like a good idea, we can have races. :rotfl: you would win...DH pushes me in a manual

So far so good with school. The college kids had me a bit worried getting together at the last minute, but that is a loooooonnnnnggg story. The little one is adjusting well to 4th grade.

Looking forward to meeting you too. We decided not to do the bar tender. (since there are so few of us it just wasn't worth it. We'll have to get our drinks before the DP starts. ::yes::

Good luck with the MRI!

Glad things are going well and that the kids got off to school okay. Must be quite a shock for the 4th grader to be home alone.

We are doing the slushies, so we have the bartender. Very excited about the slushies. :dance3:

MRI went well. Now just waiting for the results. Hopefully will know something soon.

Well, yesterday was our 2 month mark! :crazy2: How did this happen??? Daisy is almost at the finish line. :cheer2:

I am wrapping up my to-do list so that I don't have anything to do but finish packing after Halloween.

Some of my to-do include:
-- Finishing my seating plan for all of our events
-- Print escort cards for tea, welcome dinner and farewell breakfast
-- Place cards are printed and need some Mickey crystals on them
-- Burn CDs of ceremony music
-- First fitting is next Tuesday
-- Lists for photographer (both Regina and DPS)
-- Order t-shirts
-- Work on reception items with Shelley from Impressions
-- Order gifts for people
-- Make a groom's hat with Mickey ears
-- Finish welcome folders
-- Fill out forms and make final decisions for reception music with DJ.
-- Finish the ceremony pins and decide how I am going to pass them out

I have more to do, but that's enough for now. ;)

I contacted Dara at DPS over the weekend to see if I can find out who has been assigned to photograph our wedding. We have asked for Amy and Ty. She told me she would hopefully let me know by the end of the week. I will keep everyone posted.

Since, I can't post without some pictures of recent projects, here are some I have finished lately.

One of our Fairy Godchildren's birthday is October 5th and she has been complaining that her sister got to celebrate her birthday at Disney in 2010 and she never has. So, I am taking her, her sister, Mom, Nonni, 2 aunts and 3 cousins to Akershus for breakfast the day before our VR. Ashlyn is very excited now. I had Wendy at Ever After Printables create an invite for it. I also got Norway pins for everyone, since it goes with all of the other pins we are doing. The pin cards need some Mickey crystals, I think.

Paul's Dad was a 20 year Navy man and with our event being on Veteran's Day Weekend, we wanted to do something to honor the veterans who will be attending (we have 3). Again, I had Wendy design a pin card for us. Hopefully, once we get down there, I can find this year's Veteran's Day pin to go with it.

One item I knocked off the list a while ago is our Photopass guest book. I used our Regina pics to make it and love the way it worked out. Can't wait for our guests to see it.

I put in pages for Donald & Daisy to sign too! I used pics of us with each of them from previous trips.

Following Danielle's inspiration I made Princess certificates for Rachel and Ashlyn. I think they will love them.

Sorry for the long absence, but I have alot more to update soon. Can't believe how close we are getting!!! :dance3:

The 4th grader had 2 out of 3 living in college last year, including her big sister she shares a room with, this year only 1 is living at school. The other 2 are commuting, including her roommate sister, so she's happy.

I know I read about your slushies, which is what got me thinking about the bartender in the first place. :lmao: but, we will improvise. :thumbsup2 We have a blender back at the GV, and a rental car, so we can get the ingredients and make our own back in the room. There was a time when we were newlyweds when I was the one inviting everyone back to our house to continue the party, so this will be very reminiscent. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hope the MRI results are good news!

Okay, the proclamations you made for your nieces/fairy god daughter, made me tear up a little. (I am a mush ball these days) Everything looks amazing! I love the book, all the pictures came out so beautiful.

Dee,

Sounds like you have a plan. And it sounds like your guests will be having some fun too!

Thanks, I love the certificates. It took some doing on how to get the princess signatures, but once I found they had them as scrapbooking stickers, I was good to go. :)

Glad you like the guest book. Most of the photos are from the amazing Regina Hyman when we did our shoot. I can't believe that we are going to do a 3 hour shoot at Boardwalk, WL, and GF with her after our Ecpot shoot. I can't wait!

The MRI results weren't great. I have a huge heel spur, plantar fascitis and several partial tears of a couple of ligaments and tendons. I have an appt. with the foot specialist of all foot specialists at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on 10/9. We will see what she has to say then. Thanks for thinking of me.

How are things going down on the South Shore? Has everyone settled in to their routine yet? Hope all is well.

Well, with a crappy rainy weekend here in New England. That seems like a great time to get some stuff knocked off the list and post some long needed updates to this bad boy....

Confession time...I am not a girly, girl whatsoever. I hate shoes, get totally intimidated in Sephora, have no idea what is stylish or looks good on me and just typically don't do or like a lot of girly stuff. My mother wasn't into any of this stuff either and I have 2 very older brothers, who influenced me greatly. I am far more at home talking about sports than I am about most other things. I was once accused (by a former friend) that "I am just a boy waiting to come out" She was mad that I wasn't participating in the girls conversation at dinner and was talking football with the boys.

This is why my sudden girlyness when it comes to all these events is so baffling to some, including myself. I have looked for dresses for most of my events and worried about accessories. This is so not me.

I have had some success finding dresses too recently and wanted to share.

For the tea, I was originally thinking of nice capris and a top. Then I went into Lands End at Sears and found this...

A9846195.jpg

The minute Paul saw it, he said the dress was channeling Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, which is one of my top 5 all time favorite movies, so he got exactly why I bought it!!! :cool1::rotfl:

Alot of folks thinks it needs a hat, and I kinda agree, so I have contacted an etsy seller who is doing a custom one for me. Haven't seen anything from her yet, but she is planning on merging the Pretty Woman idea with some Daisy Duck elements (she does mostly Disney themed hats). As soon as I get it, I will share.

I was going to wear the brown dress that I wore for our photos with Regina to the welcome dinner. Or stay in the polka dot dress depending on how it was holding up.

Well, I was at David's Bridal the other day looking for undergarments for my dress and found this little baby...

D00CC2F9.jpg

This is originally along the lines what I was thinking of wearing for the actual VR before Isadora Ann stole my heart. I have a pair of silver dressy flip flops (that might be on here already from way back). Just planning on earrings and a bracelet. This one doesn't need much else.

I had my first dress fitting last Tuesday and I am even more in love with Isadora Ann than I was before. I can't wait to wear it in 6 weeks. She needs practically nothing fitting wise, so I just have to go and try her on at the end of October and take her home.

Yes, those are silver sequinned tennis shoes. I always loved the concept and especially with my foot being bad thought it was the perfect time to go for it. I plan on these for the reception. I am still wearing the pink shoes that are being blinged out by Amanda for the ceremony and most pictures.

I also decided I needed a splash of pink for my big day. I went to David's Bridal and bought a tea length slip and found someone on Etsy to dye it for me. I got it back yesterday afternoon and I love it! I can't wait to try it on with my dress at my final fitting.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! More updates soon, I hope.

OMG! didn't even finish reading the update because, your pink David bridal dress is the dress I am leaning toward wearing for our VR! how funny is that? I LOVE that dress, but haven't tried it on yet. It looks very pretty on you. We should ask if we can get a 2/1 discount.:rotfl2:

I also love Pretty Woman. And that dress looks just like the one she wore for the Polo match! Awesome!! Can't wait to see the hat!!

Now back to reading your update.:lmao:

Okay, I finished reading your update. I love the isodora dress. Wearing THAT dress would be the only reason I would make our VR more formal. I am absolutely in love with it. You look absolutely beatuiful in it!

I am sorry to hear you have so many issues with your feet. Lahey is so good. so many wonderful doctors. I pray all will be good for you and you will get results that erase or at least ease your discomfort/pain.

Enjoy the remainder of this wet weekend. Good luck getting things done.

Bethie,
I am sorry about your feet but those sequined sneakers are about the cutest things I have ever seen. I know many brides would prefer to wear those instead of 3" heels that look elegant and hurt after the first few steps.

Your dresses all look beautiful and the work you have put into your VR is amazing. I bet planning it was a ton of work but also a lot of fun.

Not too much longer now--enjoy the rest of the journey!
Best,
Rebecca

Look at all the photos I've missed!! I love your photo book, all the dresses, and your super comfy shoes!!!! Your day is coming up so quickly and I hope we'll be able to meet up!!

Girl, I am loving the sparkly shoes! So jealous! We're all wearing red chucks and considering my to-do list and all that's still not crossed off, I'm okay with that!

Here's to rolling into the final days of planning before the big events!!!!

YAY!!!!!
