oct 20 2012 Magic can happen!

Is anyone parking at the port in Galveston? We were thinking of having one of our kids drop us off since we are just 45 minutes away but am unsure of when to have them pick us up when we get back. How long does it take to get off the boat? Sherry

if they are only 45 minutes away and you dont need to urgently get home- I would suggest calling them that morning once they start disembarkation. Typically we are off our cruises by 8:30-9:30. We have stood around waiting for disembarkation to start twice out of 15 cruises and this was delayed til 10am- lots of flights missed and people waiting to pick up passengers.

I think 8:30 would be safe if you are in a hurry and want to get off quick

this will be something you could post in a week or so to see what the first few cruises stats are for time starting disembarkation out of galveston

I updated our cabin assignments on the FE list. The cabin next to out connecting cabins finally opened up. YIPPEE! now they are all 3 in a row!

Yay!!! We wanted connecting cabins also because both the kiddos are too small to sleep up high so one will stay with my mom and dad. Just in case there was middle of the night drama my mom didn't want to be walking around the decks in her night gown. Lol!

Anyone celebrating their anniversary on this cruise? Dave and I will be celebrating our Fortieth Anniversary on Dec 9th which is our sail date for our Panama Canal Cruise on the Disney Wonder. :cool1: Sherry

We are sailing on the magic on the 20th. We are 6 in our party(2 rooms 3 And 3). Our son is 2.5 and our nephew is 5. It's our first time on Disney and our 4th cruise. Really looking forward to it.

Welcome!!! We have a 3 yr old son and our daughter is 4.5. Lots of little boys on this cruise.

I'm way excited that there will be other little ones. Mine are 2 and 3.5 and I was worried that they would be alone in the kids clubs!!!

I'm so excited and I'll be happy to meet you all.

Nothing to celebrate except first Disney Cruise and 9th anniversary back in July haha.

Rancher Dave, wow you have been cruising this year. How fun. You will have to let us know which was your favorite cruise. I hope it will be this one.
By the way, have we arranged a disboards meet for this cruise? I have read that some cruises pick a place during the sail away party. Anyone else interested in putting names to faces? :). Sherry

I love to put names to faces, so I'm game if anyone else is.

Lets see Oct and Dec were Western Caribbean. May was trains canal. June was two week Alaska and that would be favorite on past year. Really looking forward to Disney. Ports all repeat so it is all about Disney experience. Of sailings two on RCCL one on Celebrity and two on Princess.

Would be great for everyone to meet up. What would be a quiet lounge on boarding day? Maybe 315P would be a good time so a brief meet before muster drill.

If you have been thinking about signing up today is the last day :)
Wow our little group has come a long way despite the thread being mostly quiet :)

16 cabins participating
30 adults
15 kids

kid breakdown
17yo- 1 boy
5-11yrs 7 boys, 2 girl
2-4 yrs 3 boy, 2 girl

This is my first Disney cruise but I think that sail away day around 3 or3:15 pm sounds perfect. Anyone know of a lounge where we can meet? I can look on the DCL website. I actually started packing today. :yay: Sherry
