MNSSHP Wristbands: Do they work?

If you're getting a membership, renewing, have questions, or a return, OR you're going to the food court, at my Costco you use the exit. And you don't have to show your card.

The alternative is to go in the entrance, show your card, make your way to the cash registers, find a spot where you can squeeze through, then go the food court or guest services? That makes no sense. You go in the exit.

I work across from a Costco and eat lunch there often. The food court is somewhat near the exit doors. I see people come in the exit doors and are asked for their card by the ladies checking receipts. There people just keep walking and blowing them off defiantly. I then watch them walk over to the food court to order, eat, and leave.

In the grand scheme of things, no big deal, but, these people are obviously being jerks. The business wants to see the membership card and these people are blatantly flipping them the bird, or just being jerks about showing it.

What-ever. It just seems that there are more and more people like this...

There are still people who cheat the system. A group of 15 from our school had a AAA rep give them a 645pm CP reservation then they just told the kids to keep their hoodies down on their wrists(this was for mvmcp). This was the AAA agents idea!! I can't imagine telling one of my kids to do this. They stayed for the parade, show in front of castle and the fireworks. :rolleyes2 We had a late end to CRT.. and we walked to the gate in 2011... but friends of ours were at CP at the same time so didn't get walked to the gate.... It was MVMCP night and we had already gone to it twice, so I had no intentions of staying. I was very happy to see us walked out but disappointed to hear that it isn't univeral to all the restaurants. The price of the tickets are hefty and those who pay should get to enjoy it to the fullest. :goodvibes We are doing our first MNSSHP this year. Looking forward to it as we are usually not there during halloween season.

When we were at the halloween party last year, I didn't care one little bit about how the other people got in. I wasn't looking at anyone's wristband at all. So this sort of question always give me a head tilt, of "why do people care?"

If you are paying for a service that others are getting for free, you wouldn't care?

If Disney did not enforce the party/wristbands and a large number of people just stayed in the park making it so you (who paid to be there) could not do the things you wanted to do, you wouldn't care?

Hmmm....

When you try to find a spot to watch the parade and those spots are occupied by people who did not pay the same $60 a head to get in.... you tend to care.

I actually think Disney does a great job with the parties, balancing the need to get day guests out with the need for party guests to know that everyone there actually paid to get in just like they did.

We try to choose MK as our park on our party days as often as possible so all we have to do is swing past the wristband station in the park and can avoid all the crowds near the entrance.

I went to my first Halloween party last year, and i really don't remember anyone asking to see my wristband or seeing huge groups of cast members checking for them. Maybe I was just obliviously happy to be at Magic Kingdom wearing a costume, I don't know!

Was there Friday night, and CMs asked multiple times at checkpoints and in lines for guests to show wristbands.

Okay - I wasn't the one that said they were making people leave at 6:50. I was stating that technically they could. FWIW - NOJ this year they closed lines with waits longer then 30 minutes at 6:30 so you couldn't join them - unless you had a FP.

We will just have to agree to disagree about if you can tell if someone deserves their HC placard or not by looking at them. My dad has a HC placard andnsome days he may look unworthy and other days you would wonder how he is still physically standing.

I'm sure that is the case - so many people are posting about it, I was just oblivious to it last year! Like I said, I was in my happy Disney daze, not looking for rule-violators!

If your wristband was visible as you walked by, then you would probably not have been asked. But you were being checked.

We had a member of our party last year wearing sleeves and she was asked several times to show her band.

What about kids under 3? My 2 year old niece will be with us and I couldn't find an option to purchase a ticket for kids under 3. I assume this means she is free? Does this mean no wristband?

Yes, she is free. I assume that would mean she won't need a wristband, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

No wristband required. Though I have had them give my then under 3 year old a bracelet because she just wanted one - she wanted to be like her sissa.

here is what we saw last year,

after entering @ 4pm, there were cm with the wristbands. they
were mob by those trying to get them as fast as they could.

the problem came from those milling around , acting as if they
were getting ready to leave the park. instead , once they
saw the person handling the wristbands out was mobbed,
they joined the crowd.

either make each person showed their ticket or have a
second cm watching those exiting from joining the
"crowd".

So your saying that there were people scamming the CM handing out the wrist bands? I would think that they hand one band out for every ticket the see?

We have been made to show our tickets before they handed us the wristband. If this happened, I don't think this is common at all, but a strange aberration.

They typically dontmask to see your ticket if youmgetmyour bracelet right after through the party turnstiles. If you get your bracelet in the park they ask and scan.
