We Went to See Mic-key M-o-u-s-e ... Again! - Sept '12 TR [COMPLETE]

As cool as the lime green would have been at least the black is more practical and allows some fun in the pool!!! I hope it continues to heal and doesn't present too many problems.

You are down to single digit hours before you leave!! :woohoo:

Well, let's hope you're all settled now and getting ready to go!!! Yes, at least now you can maybe get in the pool for a few minutes here and there. I can't believe you're so close now:cool1:

Just take it easy and enjoy your surroundings, relax and enjoy some shows, do some people watching(sometimes better than the shows:happytv:)

Hope the plain black goes better than the Dis green one!

True, but hard for planners to accept. ;) Sorry your trip had to be a reminder of that, but I hope you have a great time anyhow.

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

:lmao: I'm sure the black one will definitely go better with most of my outfits! I still plan to post a pic of the lime green cast, though - just for fun!

Maybe that's why my husband never plans anything on our trips. LOL!! :lmao:

Seriously though, I'm glad that they did something about this before your trip. That way you don't have to worry about making an unscheduled trip to the ER in Orlando. Might be interesting in a trip report, but not fun for you!!

Oh no, definitely do not want to visit the ER there if at all possible! :crazy2: It's better that it was caught early. After I walked around for a couple of days, I feel sure I would have had a serious problem in there. :scared:

We leave Saturday morning at 9 a.m.! I cannot wait!

:lmao: You're right - sometimes people watching IS better! :thumbsup2 DH and I go to the mall sometimes on the weekends expressly for this purpose. :teeth:

Okay, now I'm dead cert you're going to have a great time. ;) But a bit more pixie dust won't hurt.

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

:hyper:

Totally celebrating with you. :yay:

Thank you for the extra pixie dust! I'll take all I can get.

It's killing me sitting here watching DH try to get all the packing done by himself. :crazy2: Not that he minds, of course, but I wish he didn't have to do everything. Thank goodness he's off tomorrow - so many loose ends to tie up! :scared:

Hmmm, I'd love it if mine did everything!!! Heck, I'd love it if he did something at all:lmao: He does nothing but throw his own clothes in the suitcase, and even then, he'll forget the bathing suit. I pack my clothes, kids clothes, toiletries, and all the extras:headache: This next trip, since they're coming two days after me, I will pack their stuff all before I leave on Sunday, and hope they can remember to just bring the suitcases:sad2: So enjoy it!

Have a great trip!! Can't wait to hear how it went. I'll be leaving when you get back, but I'll try to creep from my ipad with the hotel internet:thumbsup2

We are at T-21 hours until we arrive in Orlando. Most everything is packed. DH is doing laundry today, and he just ran out to pick us up some lunch. :teeth:

There are things literally EVERYWHERE! It looks like a bomb went off in my livingroom! :headache: But I'm sure we'll have everything pulled together before we go to bed tonight.

At some point in time, our camera case decided to grow legs and leave us, so we'll have to make a trip to Target to pick one up. Other than that, we're pretty much set.

Got final instructions from the orthopedist's office today on how to care for the ankle brace, how much activity I'm allowed, etc. Basically, I can swim as much as I like but can't walk at all without assistance from the crutches. I've already spoken to an ECV rental company in Orlando - just have to call them tomorrow once we arrive and set everything up.

I finished up the window decorations today. I'll be sure and take a pic of them. Nothing elaborate - just a couple of signs and a few other things. ;)

Mickey and Minnie are safely tucked into the luggage, snuggled up together for their 2 hour flight home. :teeth: I managed to find my Minnie ears I bought a couple of years ago, so I was pretty pleased about that.

Well, this certainly has been a crazy couple of months! There have been many changes along the way, but I am satisfied with the plans we have now. I know the trip won't be perfect - there's no such thing - but I'm confident we will have a good time no matter what! :woohoo:

I won't have internet access while we're away, so this will be my final post in the "Pre" stage of this Trip Report. It has been so much fun - hope you all will still follow along once we get home.

Thanks for reading! :wave2:

:tinker: 21 hours until vacation, 2 days until POFQ & WDW! :mickeyjum

I'm glad to know that my camera bag isn't the only one that grows legs and walks away. LOL!!

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

I hope you have an amazing time! I can't wait to hear all about your trip!! Have fun and take it easy with the walking!!

 My husband has a clone? Actually, if I get behind, he does do his own laundry. Well, washes it before he goes to bed, dries the shirt he wants the next morning, and expects me to take dry the rest. Which doesn't always turn out well if I am not doing laundry that day and it's summer, since he never tells me he left a load in there. :p

At some point in time, our camera case decided to grow legs and leave us, so we'll have to make a trip to Target to pick one up.

Well, you're taking that wandering case pretty cooly. I'll assume it didn't have the camera in it. ;) Even if I had my camera, I'd be tearing my hair over a wandering camera case, because it'd have my cord for charging!

Hope you're having a great time! :dance3:

Hi there! Just checking in and welcoming you home since I believe you are back late tonight?? Anyways..... really, really, really want to know what all of the secretive planning and internet time was all about by your DH!!! I'm sure it wasn't a key chain! :lmao:

I hope you had a great trip!!!

Hello everyone! :wave2: Thanks for checking in on me!

To keep things honest, I'm not sure it's such a great idea to finish the TR portion. Not sure I really want to relive the details, not sure I should. :confused3

To put it in a nutshell, this trip was nothing like we planned or hoped for. There were magical moments, as always, but let's just say doing WDW on an ECV and crutches was not easy ... or enjoyable.

We had some problems that really impacted the trip. I ended up falling three separate times while using my crutches - the first time I fell, it affected my already hurt foot. We changed hotels mid-week due to issues at POFQ.

We didn't go to the parks. We didn't do the tour. We put off MNSSHP until Friday - it rained, we left early.

Our week consisted of three trips to DTD, two trips over to Riverside, one trip to the Poly to eat at Kona, and lots of time spent watching TV inside one resort or the other.

We still went to Florida, we still got to spend time with family, we still had a week away from home. My surprises still came, and they were great. We still got sprinkled with a little pixie dust. There are some CMs who really do go out of their way to make the trip magical, sometimes just by being kind and making a bad situation a little better.

Ohhhh man!! I'm soooo sorry! I've thought about you often and was excited to hear from you as soon as you returned. I think you should still do a TR. It sounds like it wasn't all bad, and maybe others can learn from your experience. I really feel bad that it wasn't 110% magical. HUGS!!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry things didn't work out as planned! I agree with the previous poster - I would still like to read a trip report. Hope you at least got to soak in the Disney atmosphere!

*hugs*

I know that I've told you this before, but if you do a trip report I will read it. If you decide not to, I can understand that too.

*hugs*

Oh nooooo. I was thinking about you all week! I was hoping I'd bump into you so I could see how you were doing!! You won't BELIEVE THIS, but SOMEHOW I woke up Monday morning with a sprained ankle!! Like full blown, black and blue all along the bottom of my foot, hurt like walking on a broken foot, sprained ankle!! I seriously couldn't help but think about you!! I didn't even do anything to it either!! I think it was the croc flip flops I wore our first two days down there, but good lord!! It hurt to walk the rest of our trip! Just want you to know you're not alone out there!

I'm sorry to hear you had so many problems on your trip though! I hope you had a couple nice moments though, and you're still itching to go back!!
