MNSSHP Wristbands: Do they work?

We are planning a trip to Disney this Halloween and I purchased tickets for the Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom. I know you turn in your ticket for a wrist band and that they 'party' starts at 7:00pm.

But, I was wondering how Disney gets all of the non-party people out at 7?

I would think:

a) It would take quite a while to get everyone out.

b) It would be very easy to cheat the system. I mean if a group of kids really wants to be there, is security going to chase them down if they don't want to be caught?

The reason I ask about (b) is that it seems many people/kids these days seem to think nothing of doing things like this. Examples:

People abusing Handicap parking spaces.

People going into the exit door at Costco just to go to the food court. (I have seen people just blowing off the attendants who ask to see their membership card...)

etc....

Are most people honest about this at Disney? I would think that just because of the number of people in the park, if even a small number of people wanted to skirt the system, they would cause major crowding.

I was at the party on the 14th...most people left on their own by 7...those that didn't were escorted out (I saw this a couple of times)

There are always people who will try to stay, but the CM's are very good about escorting those without bands to the exits. They check at ride, restroom and shop entrances.

Nobody will be allowed to enter any ride queues or purchase anything after 7pm without a wristband.
Yes, Disney CMs, and security if need be, will work on getting anyone without a wristband out of the park. Yes, it does take a while.

After 7 pm, people without wristbands are not allowed to do anything. This is NOT like evening EMH where they can mill around and do anything except rides. They will not be allowed to enter shops, or to buy anything even at the popcorn carts, or into restaurants, or even into the bathrooms.

For the first couple of hours, there will be CMs *everywhere* checking for bands. Sometimes you will get asked to show your band less than 10 feet from the last CM who requested it.

Anyone without a band will not be allowed to continue further into the park, but must turn around and walk towards the exit. You won't be allowed to cross over from the Hub to any of the Lands, even if your family is still back in the park. CMs patrol the parade audience checking for bands and if you are caught without one you will be escorted either to Guest Services to buy one or (your choice) out the front gates.

After a certain point, you will no longer be requested to exit the park... instead, you will be walked to the gate by CMs who stand there while you exit the turnstiles.

If you refuse to comply with CM requests to leave the park, security will be called. I assume that if you are running from security, you will be tracked and caught and unceremoniously dumped out on your tailbone, as you should be.

It does take a bit to clear out folks, but it's more efficient than you probably think. They have CMs stationed throughout the park that prevent folks without a wristband from moving deeper into MK. At the arteries to the park, it's not just one or two CM, but enough to form a human chain across the walkway, so you can't just slip by when one CM is busy. You can probably get past the CM if you really try, but it means you have to deliberately ignore and possibly push past them. It's not something that you can do accidentally. They also station CMs at the entrances to all rides and stores (and according to other posts, bathrooms) so that if you don't have a wristband you can't enter. They also check for wrist bands as you wait for the parade.

You would think, as Disney can make this sytem work so well, they would be able to assert the same authority to line cutters and queue jumpers...

Those are he-said/she-said situations. Nobody who gets in line properly gets a wristband.

omg, but wouldn't it be nice?!?

"This wristband certifies the wearer as someone who knows how to behave in public like a polite member of society instead of a semi-feral self-centered doofus. Please allow him or her to tour the park at will."

You didn't get one of those last trip? I'll post a picture of mine. ;)

People going into the exit door at Costco just to go to the food court. (I have seen people just blowing off the attendants who ask to see their membership card...)

Actually at our Costco at least they actually encourage the use of the food court to local business and have told us repeatedly that we didn't need a card for the Food Court or the Pharmacy (although I do happen to have one). I actually have thought that it was rather silly that they try to get everyone to ID at the door since you can't buy anything from the regular section without an ID at the register anyways but I digress. :confused3

As for the MNSSHP they actively and voraciously check the entire park repeatedly for offenders and have even asked my 5 year old to show his band that was under his costume even though we all clearly had ours. We have seen others asked throughout the night, at many rides, while getting food, while getting treats and while waiting for the parade and I have seen employees on the prowl looking for bands. It would certainly be possible to "stay in" without a band but it would be difficult, unpleasant and they wouldn't do much.

As someone who was at the MK last year on a party day without a party ticket...they absolutely make sure that you are out/on your way out as the hour approaches 7:00. We got one last ride in on Dumbo right around 6:30 and then were making our way down Mainstreet as quickly as we can (battling the massive influx of people coming into the park) and we were told approximately 897,000 times that we needed to exit the park. And this was prior to 7:00. I can't imagine how they get after 7:00, but they seem to enforce that rule pretty well. I'm sure that it's possible for someone to "hide out" in the MK after 7:00 without a wrist band, but not for long, and like others have said, you won't be able to ride rides, meet character, TOT, etc.

As for enforcement of the wrist bands vs. line cutters--the line cutters have already paid admission to the park. Disney isn't out any money just because a line cutter inconveniences other guests. But if someone trying to stay in a park for a party you didn't pay for, of course Disney is going to be on top of that because that person is trying to get something for nothing.

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: OMG, YES! I want one of those. ::yes::

But I agree with Mesaboy's comment. Plus the CMs are kicking people out of the park because they haven't paid the price of the ticket. There's no financial gain for CMs to kick line cutters out of the ride. (other than the bribe that I'd be willing to slip them).

When people say "there are a lot of CMs out looking for wrist bands", I don't think you can really comprehend what they mean by " a lot" until you see it yourself. They are EVERYWHERE. Tons of them. From 6:30 to 7:30 is the worst, with partiers pouring in and everyone else being forced out. It's a bit chaotic for awhile because on top of the crowds coming in and going out, you have like HUNDREDS of extra CMs patrolling the streets as well.

Wristbands?? I got credit-card type "tickets" in the mail. Will they give us wristbands at the gate when we arrive?

Also, what time can we enter for the MNSSHP? Thanks!!

It really is impressive how well Disney makes this works. We have been there for the party and we were asked many times to show our wrist band while we were just walking.

After you use your ticket to go through the turnstile, there are CMs waiting to give you a wristband and a trick or treat bag. :)

They give you wristbands at the gate, along with a little trick or treat bag, or at least they did last year. And sometimes around 4, but officially at 7. I'll let someone else handle that part :goodvibes:

I headed for the rest room closest to the entrance, at City Hall, and I had my wristband checked there. No wristband - no entry! I posted about this previously, because I wondered what non-ticket-holders did in this situation. The answer was, there was a restroom right outside the entrance gate that non-ticket-holders could use. Now, that's strict enforcement.
