Hi there!

I've jsut read through your PTR! Im so glad your excited, Im planning my first visit to WDW from the UK, for May 2013 and Im already counting down my days, and I haven't yet booked my resort :) Flights are booked, but I cannot decide, I am toying up between WL and SSR!! But WL looks so lovely, and sounds like it would be a nice break from the hectic life of the resorts!!!

I'll be keeping a read up on your PTR, I love to get excited about things too!

Sorry you ahve 2 adult kids who are causing you a tough time, I only moved out at 24 from my parents, but I paid board and did my share! Get your kids helping on your farm, it sounds lovely where you are. I would love the land to keep horses (I used to compete in show jumping here in the UK, until I had a bad car crash!) I really miss horses and living in a city means no spare land!

Happy planning too!! xxxxx

Welcome Azza1987!

I debated between WL and SSR but WL won out by a landslide. It just has that home away from home feel to it for us. Great place to wind down and relax after a long day in the parks.

The adult kids are my cousins but unfortunately they live less than an hour away and they and my aunt (their mother) come around often to see grandma. My two boys are not afraid of work they both help with the animals and both were out trying to help set fence. My youngest is 8 and he was running back to the house bringing us water and drinks and even made bologna sandwiches and brought them out to us. My older boy he is 14 was out pounding metal posts and running tools. I have made sure my boys know the value of and honest days work. I have seen what happens when kids are allowed to get away with everything but good honest work. I don't see a problem with adult children still living with their parents as long as they are contributing in some way like you did. I too lived several adult years with under my grandparents roof (now grandma lives with me) but even when I was going to college I worked and helped pay the bills. Anyways :offtopic:...

I wish you much pixiedust: on your upcoming trip to one of the greatest places on earth.

I have these designs already printed out but I am going to have to make more since we will have 2 rooms instead of one.

I figure I need to come up with about 5 more designs but I have had a creative block for a while now. I have time 11mths 2 weeks 4 days ... I could do hours minutes and seconds too but that is a little overboard...:lmao:

Let em know what you think...

Ok yes I know I have 329 days to go but I can't help myself. But since I have not updated in a few weeks I thought I'd share this and see what suggestions any of you might have.

First attempt
10.jpg

I decided that this one wouldn't work because it put all our heavy touring days together and we would have run out of stream about Mon or Tues and since Tue could quite possibly be a MNSSHP day I had to make some changes.

Second shot at it
20.jpg

So you can see here I split up our heavy Disney days by bringing in our lighter Universal days (I say lighter because our Universal days are not so planned out and tend to be shorter due to earlier park closings) Besides I thing our USF day will be pretty laid back, IOA will be a bit heavier due to WWoHP and Marvel Island which are favorites with my crew.

Third attempt....
21.jpg

Here we put WWoHP on Sun so fairly earlier in our trip.

Current draft....
22.jpg

Here mostly what I have done is add Hoop-Dee-Do-Revue to our USF day and we have debated back and forth changing Cosmic Rays to Columbia Harbour House or to Be our Guest. But further viewing the BOG menu it looks like we will have to leave it alone. DH and DS(14) are fairly picky eaters plus my DB can be finicky when he wants. Plus on our AK day we are going to split up for lunch because I really want to try Yak and Yeti (DS(8) is willing to try it with me) and the others would rather have Flame Tree BBQ.

We have to have at least 3 meals a day, due to my DB who is diabetic and we have to keep his BGL as normal as possible. Now there are several mornings where we are going to pick up something at Roaring Forks and I may just use a snack credit for something little (I'm not much of a breakfast eater) but if I end up doing this we will have a few extra credits so I was debating on another signature meal but not sure what when or where. Any one who might be reading have any thoughts?

Wow I can't believe it has been so long since I updated. I had a bit of a disney hiatus over the holidays. We had 18 people here for thanksgiving. It took me 3 days to cook for one meal. I did most of it myself but did have some help from my oldest DS and my DB on thanksgiving itself.

But anyways back to my update.

We are almost paid off so soon I will be  But we have another reason so go ahead and :banana::banana: I was holding out for FD well no more. We received a 35% off PIN which ended up being a better deal. Good enough that we are are now double deluxe. We are staying club level at the wilderness lodge and deluxe dining plan. :dance3: WOO HOO!!!

I know, I know we are looking at A LOT of food. But I have several good reasons going for double deluxe:
  1. the discount it works out better then FD even with the upgrade
  2. convenience of everything being paid for before we go
  3. not having to worry if my boys have gotten enough to eat (we had a couple days last trip that we ordered food delivered to the hotel even after we had eaten at the parks)
  4. not as many worries about my DB's blood sugar levels, he feels weak we grab a snack or meal
  5. plus I have sold several of my fainting goats for top dollar and my mommas have just dropped a whole mess of new kids so we had some extra money that i was not expecting

We are about one goat shy of having our trip paid off. :lmao: I like saying it that way it just sounds cute that we are going to Disney on goat money.

I'm not so worried about if we get our money's worth on the deluxe dining plan, as long as no one is left hungry and no ones blood sugar drops too low. Plus we'll be able to try out a few signature restaurants and we'll be able to spread the meals out over 8 days when you count check in and check out days.

So of course things have changed again just enough to drive me squirrelly again.

On top of that my mother has not helped my mental state, she had previously promised me that she was going to hold down the farm, feed the animals and watch her mother for me in Sept. But then last week I find out she had not even asked for the time off, but had already put in for most of her allotted vacation time already, and when I had a fit about that she checked with work and found out that week was already taken so she can't get the time off:scared1:. So when she told me that she could not get the time off I had a bit of a melt down

After I calmed down some I called my aunt (who is not a "farm girl" by any means) and asked if she could hold down the farm that week. I even offered to board the horses so she would not have to worry about them but she said that there was no need she would not only hang on to everything here but if I showed her what to do she would even take care of the horses. Needless to say I was shocked but not in a bad way. And even this past weekend she made extra effort to start trying to learn the basics for the horses. Last time we went she held onto the farm so she already has the basics for the goats. I told her it won't be too difficult because I am going to measure out each feeding into labeled plastic ziplock bags for each horse for each feeding. I was going to do the same thing for my mother so it is not any different. I just want to make sure everything is measured out right and the supplements go to the right horse, we have a 19yr old mustang and a 6yr old quarter horse they have very different diets.

Anyways I'll be updating our dining plans here soon because only 233 days to go :dance3: only 53 days until I can put in for our ADRs :woohoo:

OK second try to post this update.

I think since I was gone so long I am only writing this for myself but that is ok. I need a Disney outlet, DH never wants to debate with me over this stuff he tells me any time I try to bring something up "it doesn't matter I'm just going" it is so frustrating. I'd like to say ok then you figure out what you are going to do and I'll just meet you back at the hotel each night. Just to see if he does anything.

Anyways here is my latest plan

Well it has been a while since I updated this but there has not been much to say. But now that has changed.

:dance3::cool1:WE ARE IN DOUBLE DIGITS!!!:yay::woohoo::dancer:

96 days and counting

OMG what happened to the time. It is starting to fly by but that is probably because we have been busy. Minor home remodeling, barn building, grandmother was in hospital but is now doing better, animal vaccines, hoof trimming, work and other such stuff. It has been a crazy last couple months, so I didn't really notice time creeping up on me.

I still have 2 more t-shirt designs to go, but that means 10 more shirts total. One design has some hand painting to go besides the screen art. I will post pictures of the finished products before I pack them.

I have already started packing some things:rotfl: for myself I have only packed stuff like shampoo/body wash/etc, but my hubby had me pack his shorts. I did the same for my boys just the extra stuff we have for the trip.

I so can't wait. Every commercial for Disney or Universal is pure torture, but I can't get enough. LOL

Hi my name is Sheila and I am a Disney addict. :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyways I think that is all for now. I promise to update again soon.

Ya'll have a "Magical Day":lmao:

OK I know I have been bad about keeping up on this PTR but in my defense I have been crazy busy.

Building a small barn

Taking care of my Granny who is 87.

Working both on the farm as well as my outside job.

Rehanging fence.

Getting stuff together for the trip which is coming up hard and fast.

Some minor home improvements

Dealing with the death of a beloved dog who was more family then pet,

COWDOG-1.jpg

and the subsequent search for another good livestock guard dog. We did find one but he is a 16lb 8week old puppy.

Plus getting T-shirts ready

for the rest of the group

I have a couple other designs but don't have pictures handy.

Anyways we are 28 days out from leaving. Pretty much everything is ready.
  • Arrangements have been made for someone to watch Granny and the farm,
  • bags are mostly packed,
  • Mickey mail has already arrived,
  • we have done online check-in
  • all our dining reservations have been made and double checked
  • car rental arranged and to be picked up the day before we leave out
  • stocked up on livestock feed and set up individual feedings for horses(measured out quantities and supplements into marked ziplock bags for each horse and feed time)

Now the only thing missing is getting to try out the Magic Bands. :goodvibes there is still hope though.

I will update if we get to try them out.

Till next time...
