Need a Fan

Okay here I am with a question which reveals my age. But I get very "hot" at night when I sleep. I have to have a fan on me. If I ask, would they bring one to our cabin? We sail on the Fantasy in October. I wonder if I can get one at Disneyworld from housekeeping. We are staying at the Beach Club Villas and at the Animal Kingdom Kidani Villas.

I can get a small(ish) fan and try to pack it, or ship it to the resort if I have to.

Any suggestions?:scratchin

We need a fan too. I like the white noise :)

As far as I know AKL does not have fans. I've asked there with no luck.

I always bring one on the ship and to the resorts. The one I have is a small table top fan that is pretty powerful. Check Babies R Us. It is a Summer infant fan. I suggest this vs a cheap little metal fan because is is compact and lightweight, and does work really good :)

I need a fan to sleep - not for the white noise but for the air movement and I have had to pack my own when on the ships - I do not think they have them

If you do this remember an extension cord as the outlets are not in a convenient location

So, you are 30? ;)

I'm 30 and I get very hot at night as well, we keep the house at about 69 degree's at night.

I bought a 6" desktop fan this summer that I really liked. It was powerful but very quiet. I looked it up and it is the Lasko 2002w and it's around $18/$19 on Amazon.

Most of the rooms at WDW have ceiling fans. They seem to work pretty good for me, if we keep the temp down. And I am much older with lots of hot flashes. But for the life of me I can't remember if the staterooms on the cruise ships have ceiling fans.

None of the ones we've been in do. I would think not.

No ceiling fans on the ship

Yikes! I might need a fan too then. Since our last cruise I get hot a lot easier at night. Anyone know how the air conditioning works in the staterroms on the Fantasy.

Very simple control on the wall. Turn one way for warmer, the other for cooler. Found it very effective. Set it once and forget it.

I am sooooo with you. I need a fan. But when traveling for work I turn down the AC in the hotel and use my iPhone for the "noise". On the cruise I just opened up the sliding door on the verandah.

Tut Tut!
You know they ask that you do not leave the doors open as it screws up the air-conditioning for everyone else!

I have to have a fan for the white noise. On cruises I always bring my portable battery O2 Cool fan. It folds and doesn't take up much room. I always plug it in but I also bring some batteries just in case I need to put it some place that doesn't have a plug. I bought a couple at Publix - they always have them during hurricane season with the hurricane supplies. But, I have also seen it other places. I like the sound it makes!
