I'm going insane. I have an ongoing search in RCI waiting for something in May in Disney. And there has been nothing at all for any time in a week!!! What's going on? I'm a nervous wreck. I have NEVER seen it like this. There has always been something up there.

If I'm reading it correctly, the OP is an RCI member looking to exchange into DVC. To my knowledge, that inbound exchange does not rely on the DVC 11/7 month booking windows.

I have never traded into RCI, but by reading some of the posts on our boards over the last few months, it would seem that trades into DVC via RCI are now requiring more trading power than in previous years. Perhaps that is having an effect on the OP's availability?

DVC may not have bulk deposited may 2013 weeks into RCI yet. the OP would be a lot better off to join TUG and look for DVC exchanges over there. the sightings board would give you an idea of what DVC was currently depositing.

My trade is a Waikiki week. It had a value of 42 RCI points which is very good. I was seeing weeks for Christmas/New Years which are very costly pointwise so I know I have the power. So it must just be that there just hasn't been a 'deposit' yet for that timeframe. I'll check out this 'TUG'. What is it??

if it makes you feel better, we traded into BWV 1 bedroom May 20-27 of this year, and that was available just before Thanksgiving last year. so the rooms just might not be there yet.

Why would someone trading in from RCI be able to book before DVC owners can book at their 11 month window?

that's not the issue - they are looking for may 2013. but they don't have a "home resort" with DVC, so they are not waiting for the 7 month window. DVC typically makes bulk deposits around 8 months out IIRC.

I am suprised and disappointed that someone who does not own there can book a reservation before me. It cheapens the sales pitch for a home resort advantage at the 11 month window. I thought the only ones who could book a resort from 7-11 months out were those who owned there.

It's the same with DVC....DVCers can book RCI outside of any priority window for their respective resorts...it just depends upon when the rooms are deposited to the program.

BUT...you can't have it both ways. If you want the ability to trade out, someone also has to be able to trade in. If someone uses their points to book an RCI exchange 11 months out, their equivalent points are deposited in RCI for those folks to use. They aren't taking any inventory away from anyone....someone of us has already used that "inventory" to book through RCI.
