Bonnet Creek 2br Condo Suggestions

In June we rented a house for the first time. It was a great experience. We got a 4 br for only $700 total for 8 days. However, it was a 21 minute drive to the parks. We did it for the value in price and we had 10 people in the house.

For the next trip I still want to get a really good price. Going in Feb. However, I want to be A LOT closer. I am thinking about Wyndham Bonnet Creek. My understanding is that it is the closest one can get. This time around I only need a 2 br condo. (just me, dw, and 2 ds)

Went to the bonnectcreek website, but lsited prices of $225+ a night. That was more than double what I would like to pay. So, my question is how does it work? Can we rent directly from an owner? If so, where do I find listings? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I know direct rentals are more risky, but I am putting a high priority on rentals with a lot of good feedback to those with little to none.

Can anyone help? point me in the right direction?

Two Wyndham "mega-renters" are commonly mentioned around here as good sources for Bonnet Creek: Vacation Strategy and Vacation Upgrades.

That might still be a little above your price range. If so, a condo or townhome at Windsor Hills might fit the bill. WH is also very very close to the parks. Maybe not *quite* as close as Bonnet, but the difference isn't that big.

For my upcoming May trip, I booked through 5 Star Resorts (at 5starresorts dot net) [stupid post limit can't have links... grumble, grumble] and got 7 days for around $595. Michelle is very nice and very quick with communication.

I used Vacation Strategy for 3 nights in August
a 3 Bedroom Presidental Suite( That was bigger then my house!!)
was $477(tax included) They have free shuttle service to the parks.

I would use them again!!:goodvibes

We've used Vacation Strategy numerous times in the past to book WBC. I've also used a friend who is an owner before I found out about Vacation Strategy. For a 10 day trip in February, 2013, my friend quoted me a price of $2000 ($200/night).

Vacation Strategy quoted $1200 ($120/night). Both for a two bedroom deluxe.

I've used many different sources to book rooms at WBC and VS is the best.

Lots of powersellers renting bonnet creek on ebay. You can often score deals on there, especially if you have some flexibility

We rented through VS for our first time at BC next month. We got a 2BR deluxe for 7 nights for $837.

Go to ebay and go to the travel area. Then pick lodging.

From there, search bonnet creek.

You'll see lots of listings, many of which are from people who do it as a business. Most of those are top-rated sellers or power sellers. They are people who have been selling lots of reservations and other things on ebay.

I used skyauction for my upcoming trip in November after hearing about it from my girlfriend. I paid $618 all said and done. You have to be careful because they have a few auctions for the same type room listed at different prices. Just be smart and read everything to make sure you are clear on the dates, surcharges etc. It is not like an ebay auction you usually win the 'bid' for the price listed. Make sure you uncheck the 'will accept lesser quality'. Once you 'win' you contact them with the dates you want and if they jive with what they have available they bill your credit card(which you add when you place your bid). I called because the auction listed I could check in on a Sunday and the computer only let me pick a Saturday. The live person I spoke with was very helpful and fixed it right away. It seems intimidating at first but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again to book another vacation.
I did the math and for feb. 2013 it would cost you around $720 a week for a 2br. including all the fees etc. That is still a great price! Don't worry about the ticker displaying when the auction "ending" if you miss it they keep listing them but remember to read all the info so you are not bidding on one of the crappy priced auctions.

It seems intimidating at first but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again to book another vacation.
