How small are the 1br Villas at BLT?

Would a group of 4 adults, 1 "8" year old, and a 15 month old fit in a BLT 1 br Villa?

If not, would that scenario work out at Beach Club or Wilderness?

Thanks.

This is the layout for a one-bedroom villa at the Beach Club (I've stayed here and at the Boardwalk). The master has a King bed and the living room has a pull out Queen sofabed. So for four adults, 1 child, and 1 baby, it would probably be a little tight. They will probably allow you a baby crib, but they won't provide a roll away for the room (at least when I asked they said no because of the fire code).

When reading the description of Bay Lake Towers it sounds like there is a sleeper chair in the living room (in addition to the Queen sofabed), so it might work for your group (2 adults on the King, 2 adults on the Queen sofabed, the eight year old on the sleeper chair, and the baby in a crib).

Yikes,

That does look tight. Is the one bedroom at BWI any better? We were planning on 2 adults in the bedroom and 2 on the pull-out couch.

Thoughts?

This is the 1 bedroom floor plan. We stayed in it in May with 2 adults, a 4 yo and 6 yo. Very roomy for us, and I think would be very adequate for your party. It is definitely bigger than the Beach Club shown above because it has 2 full baths, a larger kitchen and more living room space (ie more space for the fold out couch and chair). The couch folds out, as does the chair (though chair might be tight for an adult). Even with couch and chair pulled out into beds, still felt there was adequate space. Two full baths and laundry, plus kitchen, were very nice. Loved location, walked to MK, monorails, etc. Very peaceful place, not too themed (could be a plus or a minus, depending on what you like). I highly recommend it, and we are already booked to go back next year (in 2 bedroom villa this time, since my parents are also going!).

Also, there was already a pack in play in our closet in the Master bedroom, so I don't think you even have to request it, but do have to request sheets for it. The couch and chair were made up into beds but folded closed when we checked in, so super easy to drop into for the night.

blt 1-bedroom 803 sq ft - the only 1-bedroom that is bigger at WDW is OKW.

you have plenty of room.

the studio at BLT are tiny - the 1-bedroom have plenty of space.

Thanks for the replies. Amazingly, the 1 bedroom for 4 nights and 5 days at BLT is actually cheaper in cost (for our party size) than rooms at a moderate....go figure. Just trying to see if we can make it work.

DVC resorts will not provide rollaways. You get what you get. If guests do not want to share a bed, they have to provide their own sleeping surface (air bed, sleeping bag).

With six in a one bedroom, you will feel crowded, but it is probably doable.

BLT, OKW and AKV are the only villa resorts with a sleeper chair in the one bedroom villas. You'd mentioned BWV, VWL and BCV - those would just have a sleeper sofa in the one bedroom.

So, at BLT, you'll definitely have beds for everyone. At BWV, VWL or BCV, you'd need to bring an air mattress or something like that, and your own bedding, for your daughter.

Hi OP. We just returned Monday from a week long stay in a blt 1 bedroom unit. Personally, I think you will be fine. The other resort options you mentioned will not work for your party anyway as you will be over occupancy. The only dvc resorts a cash paying guest can book with 5 plus an infant are blt, akv, and okw.

Blt is roomy. Not sure how you would do sleeping arrangements but there is plenty of room in the master bedroom for the pack n play or it would easily fit in the living room with both the sleeper sofa and chair bed open. We had 2 full size cribs in the living room and opened the sleeper sofa and it was no problem. It did require some moving of a few pieces of furniture (as not to worry anyone we did so gently and damaged nothing). The 2 full bathrooms were nice as well.

Two adults on the sofa bed in any DVC property is a miserable proposition. Much better to get a regular deluxe room with two queen beds. You would be fine in most any deluxe room (other than Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge) that has two queen beds and a day bed -- you can have five people plus one child under three, which is exactly what you have.

We tried as two adults to sleep on the sofa bed in a one bedroom at Beach Club Villas. The sofa bed sank in the middle. We had them bring in a new mattress as the first one was really lumpy but it only helped a little. We still both rolled to the center and sank. Also, the sofa bed, when open, had horrible bars on the sides that one had to lift oneself over in order to even get out of the thing.

We were so miserable, the four of us (2 adults and two 15-year-old boys) checked out early and went back to Portofino Bay Hotel where we could have two queen beds.

We would never consider a DVC stay again for four unless it was in a two bedroom so no one has to "sleep" on the sofabed.

As far as I'm concerned the sofa bed really only works for small children. Even then, the setup is silly. The parents can't get up and go to the kitchen to get coffee and do some work without waking the child in the sofa bed in the living room. We found we much prefer staying club level -- the parents can go to the lounge for coffee and work while the kids sleep in. Works better for us by far. We just returned from a Yacht Club club level stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beach Club club level is great too. Even larger rooms are available at Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary.

I slept on the DVC sleeper in the 1 bedroom unit at BLT last week. The sleepr sofa at this resort is not the same as what you describe. It is a queen size foam mattress, no bars and no saggy spots and was surprisingly comfortable. Comfortable enough that if I knew where they got them I would order one for a guest bed in my office. The sleeper sofa in the studio units are full size.

We were just at BLT in August and stayed in a one bedroom villa. Based on your numbers it seems a little bit tight.

Thanks for the heads up. Still deciding what to do as our party could range anywhere from 5-8...
