This will be my first stay at this resort. I would love to hear some recomendations on things to see and do, specialties in the food court, best building to request, etc.
Really looking forward to experiencing something new for this mother/daughter only trip.

ASMU is pretty relaxed. It's the smallest, quietest, and least crowded all star resort. I love staying there. The food court doesn't really have any specialties but it's my favorite because it has all the stuff I like to eat on vacation :rotfl: Here's a menu although there are more snacks and desserts that aren't actually listed:

Breakfast: http://allears.net/menu/men_asm1.htm

Lunch/Dinner: http://allears.net/menu/men_asm2.htm

You want a room in Jazz or Calypso. Both are excellent and close to the main building/pool/buses. It's worth a walk around the resort, the theming is cute! The pools are fun, one is a wading pools shaped like a piano and the main pool has a cute three caballeros themed water fountain.

Thankfully all of the all stars now have mini fridges!!! :worship: pixiedust:
Hated before, having to worry about a cupcake melting or a drink getting too warm in the room!

Any other questions? :goodvibes

I love AS Mu! It's my favorite value (atleast before they finished AoA). I like any of the buildings except for Country. That's in the back forty!

We love to go around to the different sections and do pictures. Each section has it's own photo ops and I know when my children and their friends were teens and preteens, they loved to get all the different pictures.

Our favorite foods at AS Mu are the Mickey waffles, the chicken alfredo, and the create your own items. It's easy to find what you want and the food is always good.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

Tag on question: We are staying two nights prior to WL. We have booked a standard room and will be requesting 'Jazz'. Just want to confirm that it is the best option for the parking lot? We will be arriving 2am ish our first night and will need to transfer 2 sleeping todder/ 1 pre schooler - well, hopefully they'll be sleeping and not awake screaming!

Yeah the parking lot is pretty convenient to get to from anywhere because the lot surrounds all of the buildings on either side.

We had a room on the back side of Jazz, building 2, and it was very close to the parking lot. We have also been in Broadway, on the back towards ASMo, and we liked that location also.

I don't remembered a favorite food there, but we haven't had a problem with anything we've had there. ASMu is our favorite value

Just stayed in a Calypso 10 room last month and this was my 1st visit to ASMu...we were on the back side of the building and we had a small parking lot very close to our room and a large one right across the entrance road not to far off. Loved being in Calypso because it is the closest to the main building and bus stops.

I was surprised at how calm and relaxing it was...this was an anniversary trip with my husband and we were not sure what to expect because we've heard the All-Stars are usually where they house large groups (cheerleading squads, marching bands, etc.). Very happy with our stay. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Thank you!

Your welcome!
Further advice for when you first get there,

Honestly they will probably wake up. Between getting them out of the car and walking to the hotel room which may even be up a flight of steps I would just be prepared. Maybe have them in comfy clothes and send a parent ahead to the room to untuck the bedsheets, turn just a light on so you can see, and get the air going so you can put them in bed and they'll be comfy enough to fall back into a good sleep. Sometimes when you first arrive the rooms are hot because the air turns off when no one has been inside. And I imagine at 2am they'll have been cleaned several hours beforehand with no one coming in there after that it might be stuffy.

Thanks for the tips. We will be doing a 'bedtime' stop along the way for a snack and getting pjs on. You did get me thinking about the bed situation though. What happens in regard to Pack N ' Plays and bed rails with such a late arrival? Will the department that delivers those even be open at that time? Hmmmm.

Oh that is a good question... :scratchin
The latest I've been up and about in Disney is 3am to catch a flight. The only people around were cleanup in the main building and one person at the front desk. I would call ahead of time and ask if they can deliver it to the room before you get there instead of it just showing up later in the morning or something.
