Are you in Disney currently? If so do you happen to know what the weather looks like for the next few days? Have a great trip!

I am not currently at Disney but I live in Central Florida. The weather has been the same for weeks. Hot and humid with a daily shower. Typically the shower will cool things off, but I swear the last week it's made it feel even more humid after the rain.

Right now it's thundering, but the sun's out.

Just a suggestion, but checking Weather.com (or any other such website or app) for Walt Disney World is going to get you weather information that is as reliable (or unreliable) as any local weather forecast done in Orlando. I have the Weather Channel's app on my iPhone and "The Walt Disney World Resort, FL" is one of my favorites. I check the weather down there as often as I check for East Lansing, MI. This time of the year, WDW will have a high of ~85, low of ~72 with rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon. (Yup, just looked at the 10 day forecast.)

I have accuweather on my phone. Those apps are great!

From experience I have learned that looking at Disney weather tends to show rain every day even when the sun is shining. I have the weather channel app on my iphone also and it has shown rain for a month straight and I can't believe that is the truth (at least I hope not)!

See above. I really like accuweather's phone app. It has a link to click for more and it will give the hourly forcast. The hourly is the best for checking about rain. I don't go anywhere late afternoon/evening without an umbrella lately. Thankfully the rains have been moving in and out quickly. You could be in a show or attraction and come out and never know it's rained because it dries up that fast!

It's closer to the truth than you'd like. It really does rain just about every day in central florida. The apps will show a 30-50% chance because that is the probability at any given time during the day. If you check the hourly forecast, you'll get a little better detail. Even if it was bright sunshine when we left our resort, I'd throw our ponchos in the knapsack. More often than not, we'd pull them out in the 2:00 - 4:00 range, wear them for an hour and then the sun would come back out.

I want to call and request the same room we had last time too (in '08) :lmao: It was close to the lobby and pool but off to the side so it was quiet. My mom found her packet from that trip and it had the room numbers. I am calling today :woohoo:

We were in one of the 50's buildings. It was great. We were in the end room on the 4th floor, so we only had two neighbors and no overhead noise with minimal outside noise at night. I can't imagine how loud the 1st floor rooms are with pedestrian traffic!

These are the swan towel animals we got!!

This was the only bounceback offer available at this time. Free dining, but it was only for about a month window in 2013.

Last time I stayed at a Disney resort the shampoo had Tink on it and was grapefruit. This time it had Mickey and was orange scented.

Not Pop related, but the Purchase with purchase at TrenD was this great reversible bag!

Thanks so much for the pics! :goodvibes Love the swans, the new shampoo bottles and the reversible bag offer! I hope that bag at TrenD is still offered 5 weeks from now. It is adorable!

I was hoping to see the offer for room only that showed up last year on the white rabbits watch. We have AP and TiW so don't need free dining. I called to see if there were any room only offers. There wasn't. This was the first stay in a few years we didn't book a bounce back

Sorry to hear there are no RO discounts offered currently for BB at this time. I have a friend now in Disney and we are looking for a BB for January. Bummer.

Thank you for your pictures!! :goodvibes Those bags look awesome .... I don't remember this offer when we were there in August ... and I even bought something at Trend D! Darn! Our offers were the duffal bag, backpack and and pin trading set ...

And holy crap!!!!

When did wifi become FREE!!!????!?!?!?!?

:hyper: This just saved me $100+!!! When we were there in 2010 we had to pay for internet. I was in school at the time and needed to access the net for classes. Now DH is in school and he'll need internet.

:goodvibes Disney came into the 21st century and started rolling this at POP in March of this year ... :cool1:

Just got our Disney package in the mail! DW & I are so excited for our trip next month!

Mickey Mail arrived yesterday! 32 more days!

Jealous!! I want my Mickey Mail! :-) we are at 43 days!

:yay: So exciting and a agreat time to visit!! Any plans for MNSSHP?? It's so much fun!

So I just booked our first stay at Pop Century... :wave2:

We've always stayed deluxe at WDW and are returning to WL for 4 nights beginning Monday, December 10 for free dining. I planned to stay Sunday night off-site to get a jump start on Monday and had booked us at the Clarion Suites Maingate. So today I get a Florida resident offer for 20% off value resorts and check it out. Seems I can stay at the Pop Century for within a couple of bucks of what the Clarion would have cost. So I cancelled the Clarion and booked 2 nights in a preferred pool view room at Pop. :cool1:

We'll be staying Saturday and Sunday night with no park tickets. We plan to spent Sunday at the resort and Downtown Disney. I do have ADRs at Sanaa on Sunday night.

I may have just opened up a whole new world for us... :thumbsup2

Martin

:yay: :welcome: to the POP thread .... lots of fun here .... like your plans to explore the resort (make sure to check out the shadow boxes in the lobby) and if you have time, take a walk over to AoA as well. Great theming at POP and AoA (our unofficial sister resort).

Yes, you may never need to stay off site again .... :)

Sorry for you and your friend. Hope something pops up between now and your friends checkout for you.

I got the duffle and back pack on Aug 30th. Maybe the new month brought new offers?

Hey quick question for all you POPers, if I want to add a request to my vacation package i.e king bed or 2nd floor, them is no way to do that online right you have to call up. Also does it matter how early or late I do it do I remind them at check in?

Call the central reservations number and add your King room request (and floor if that is important to you) ... suggestion, you might just say "upper floor" if your desire is to not be on the ground level.

As you probably are aware, King rooms are by request only, and they are limited in supply. If a king room is the most important to you, have this listed first, followed by any other request(s). Also take note that it is suggested that you limit requests to 3.

After making your requests, suggest you call back a few days later to ensure that your request(s) are indeed noted on the reservation. :)

At check-in if you are not given a King room, simply ask if there are any available ... sometimes if you are checking in early in the day, it's possible a room might becoming available later in the day if you are willing to wait for the room.

Also ... if none are available that day, you can inquire if one will be available the next day, if you would be willing to change rooms to get a King room.

Good luck!! Here's hoping you get all your requests!! :goodvibes

Thanks lovethatink!! She is staying until Sept 28th so there's a little time ... also have a friend checking in mid-Oct ... we are all taking a DIS trip together in January ... :) so there's hope!!

Guess what?? Of the promos offered, I was the nice Mom and purchased the starter lanyard pin set for $18.95 (more than once) :). What I won't do for my DD's pin trading habit!! And yes, believe that Disney shakes things up by offering different promos... which is good for people who are able to get to Disney a few times a year ....variety!!

Although I got a nice red mickey tote bag a few years back ...so no complaints... this one reminds me of that a bit. :cool1:

Those shampoo bottles are adorable......we're 30 days away! YAY!!!! And yet, I've still not phoned in my request....ugghhh, such a procrastinator LOL

I got a brochure thingy in the mail last week in a Toy Story theme about our upcoming trip. Got all happy when I saw "You've Chosen Pop Century Resort."

This place just looks like FUN.

And I've been reading food reviews and it seems to me that Pop's food court has some unique stuff.

Yes, we like the food court a lot. The "mom's night out" fried chicken is really good. It comes with mashed potatoes and green beans -- the beans are my favorite part! You will have a blast!

We got this yesterday! My dd5 went nuts over it. It was so cute. And I quote "this is the most exciting day in my life!"

Where do I ask about a Run Disney map for around the lake that someone mentioned up thread? We're at two weeks tomorrow. Yay!

Thanks for another good recommendation. :)

The Greek salad is no longer on the menu. A build your own salad is. A tiny garden salad is in the refrig section too.

The is the reason we will be staying at pop again next year. Lots of choices.I found the menu at AOA just a lot more limited. Dh favorite was the steak burrito he only got it once since they only have it at lunch.

That was me. I asked for it at the AOA guest services desk when we went over there to check things out. The CM had to talk with her manager to ask about it. She said that, because the LM section wasn't done and the whole loop around the lake wasn't open, they weren't printing them off yet. My assumption is that now the whole thing is open, they will have some printed off or will print them for you upon request. They should be able to do that at either Pop's or AOA's guest services desk at reception.

Here is a link to the old Pop trail: http://www.disneyrunning.com/joggingtrailpc.html

If you do get a new trail map, will you please post it? Hope you have loads of fun.
