Sealy Posturepedic® Premium Plush Euro-top mattresses

Is Euro-top and Pillow top the same thing?

I found this online and think it is the same thing...any thoughts???

Scroll down to the Monogram 800 Plush Euro Top....it is sold to the hospitality industry

Loved the Fantasy mattress but worried about pillow tops getting "dents" where you lay and then a bump in the middle. We had one a long time ago and was not a fan but really loved the ones on the Fantasy. Desperately need a new mattress.

mmouse37,

After so many cruises I thought you would have accosted the Hotel Director aboard and asked what brand and what is available on land to most closely match!

Can't believe you missed that opportunity!

Here's part of an article I found that describes the difference (and apparently there isn't one)

"A pillow top is a design that features a piece of padding on the top of the mattress that is sewn on with a gap around the side between the padding and the mattress. A euro top has the same piece of padding on top but it’s sewn on so that there is no space left between the mattress and the cushion where they meet around the side. There is really no functional difference between the two, it’s just a cosmetic difference."

So according to the ship's description above, yes...they are pillow-tops, they're just CALLED Euro-tops.

They probably have the Euro part as it would have been a lot cheaper to ship the mattresses, all thousands of them to the ship yard from the European factory rather than from over here! lol!

I was very close but I restrained myself:rotfl2:

I am going to take the plunge and buy the 800 Monogram plush....takes six week to get and I will let you all know if it feels as good as the Dream/Fantasy beds (where I had the best sleep ever!!!)

Are the mattresses softer? We like a pretty firm mattress. We have an Embody Stillness Sealy mattress that is only a few months old. I can pretty much jump on the bed and not wake up DH. Love it! And my back really loves it.

Yes, Euro top is pillowtop.

After testing every display bed in Orlando, we bought the Sealy Posturepedic Grand Canal Plush Euro Pillowtop from Mattress Giant. Now every night is almost like sleeping on the Dream. If only we could get the room to sway. ;)

So tell us, was this the right mattress? We slept really good on the Fantasy.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I'd like to know as well! The Fantasy was an amazing sleep!!!

Just my 2 cents, but it might not be the mattress, so much as the location. A cruise ship, after a busy day of activity (or a relaxing day of inactivity).

For instance, what's the worst night's sleep I've ever had? The first night of any camping trip I've been on.
What's the best night's sleep I've ever had? The LAST night of any camping trip I've ever been on.

No mattress at all, but by then you are so tired, it all feels WONDERFUL.
