Fantasmic noise from BC/SAB

Ok, so I couldn't really find anything about this using the search, so I figure I'll ask.

I have a problem with fireworks. Loud noises in general actually (balloons, guns, etc. etc.) Anyway, I know that you can hear Illuminations from the Beach club resort so I'll need to plan to be inside or in the room during that, but what about Fantasmic?? If it's not too loud, it may be ok. Do I just need to wait and see what it's like the first night before deciding if I can take an evening swim at SAB during Fantasmic?

TIA!

I could not hear Fantasmic from our YC room, I never even noticed when it was going on outside or inside.

Illuminations, I could hear from inside and outside our room. I do not have the same issues with noise, so I can't give you much advise there. We use a fan at night to help with white noise, maybe a fan or white noise machine might be helpful?

I use these for a 22 caliber cement gun if you want to try them out.

Have never heard Fantasmic at SAB that I can remember-maybe the wind direction can change the sound.

SAB may not even be open during Fantasmic! It will depending on when you going. But SAB closes as early as 8pm during some times of the year.

I've also never noticed Fantasmic from the Epcot Area resorts. Perhaps if the wind is blowing in just the right way, but it's pretty unlikely. Having ear plugs is a good back-up plan.

(I feel like IllumiNations also has a lot more fireworks than Fantasmic. There are some at Fantasmic, but it's more like ground level stuff and fire (opposed to fireworks).)

are you flying to WDW - the plane noise was always the worst for me.

might reconsider BC and stay at OKW or BLT - OKW is far enough away that noise from any fireworks is generally not a problem. (okay special fireworks at TL or DD can be a problem - but hoping for no special fireworks)

blt has some great sound proofing - if you can - stay on the inside curve - now that means you can look into others room and they can yours. but if quiet is high on your list.:rolleyes1

I did not notice Fantasmic while we were just at YC. While we were staying at POP I had to hide in the room with the TV during Illuminations, so I think Fantasmic would have bothered me if it were very audible.

I could never hear or see Fantasmic from SAB at BC....

Then again I couldn't hear Illuminations at SAB...

Now... at the "Quiet" Pool at BC (which stays open later than SAB) I could SEE Illuminations but the "booms" were quite muted....

I don't think either would be a big problem but those ear plugs seem to be a great option....

Have a magical visit !

Thanks everyone!!!!!

It sounds like Fantasmic won't be an issue. :thumbsup2
I think Illuminations might be a problem if I'm outside, but they're much later so I'll probably be in by then.

Does anyone know what time SAB may close next week? We arrive on Friday!!!!! If it's early we can always take a dip in the quite pool once the baby goes to bed and while Grandma watches her and reads in the room, but I'd rather go to SAB.

Plane noise has never been an issue for me, and I can handle loud music and concerts pretty well, it's mostly the sudden loud noises. My parents used to try earplugs when I was a kid and they didn't help. Probably because it's really a mental issue... They may help when I'm in the hotel room, I'll try to remember to pack some.

Thanks again for all your advice! Quite helpful.

I'll also try and ask about an "inside curve" room. Quiet is going to be important with the baby (1 yr) too. We have a white noise machine for her, so hopefully that helps.
