Has anyone been to the ASM family suites recently? They are significantly less than the AoA suites and I am wondering if they are at all comparable or old and run down now. Any comments from recent guests are very much appreciated. :)

We are going in December so not concerned about the pool at all.

Thank you!

well, not too recently but a year and ahalf ago. they were not run down at ALL! So I highly doubt they've become run down in the past year.

Our family of 5 stayed in one last December for 5 nights. We thought it was great and suited our needs perfectly. It wasnt run down at all and I would definitely stay in one again!

We have stayed there and thought they were a great option for a family of 5 or 6. We loved having 2 bathrooms and the kitchenette!

Great, thank you everyone! I feel much more comfortable booking it now, i'm using the difference in price from AoA for MVMCP tickets and extras. :)

were the fold out beds comfortable when you stayed? we are looking at these for our next trip, but my mom would have to sleep on a fold out (she is a very young 60 :)) I would hate for her to get no sleep the whole week!)

Thanks

I slept on the fold out chair one night (not the ottoman, the chair sleeper). It wasn't really *uncomfortable* but it was hard for me to sleep in a twin b/c I sleep in a King at home and am used to spreading out all over the place. IDK how the sofa bed was, DH slept in that.

It has been a couple of years, but I shared the couch fold out with one of my nieces. It was pretty comfortable, so your mom should have no trouble sleeping. The only thing is is that it is a bit low, so you kind of have to roll out of bed in the morning.

We stayed in Nov 2009 in the music rooms & I'm pretty sure they were brand new then. WDW really keeps up w/ everything. I remember our room was brand new @ the time.:goodvibes

I think they are less since AofA is so new and the suites there are themed. We really liked the ASMu suites, and one huge plus is that they are located in the Preferred buildings so close to the lobby area, restaurant and bus stop. Can't comment on the bedding comfort as only children slept in the pull out beds. The two full bathrooms and the little kitchenette was great...we had breakfast in the suite every morning (Cereals, fruit, muffins, coffee) which was a quiet calm way to start off the day! And although it has been almost two years since our visit, I would not expect any Disney property to be run down!

My family of four has stayed in an ASM family suite twice in the past 18 months. We found the foldouts very uncomfortable but made it better by taking the mattresses from the chair and ottoman and doubling on the couch. Other than that the rooms were vey nice and spacious. We are staying at AoA in a LK suite in November and are interested to see if we find it to b worth the extra $.
