Effective October 1 through December 31, 2012, DVC Members may Purchase, Renew, or Upgrade to a WDW Premium Annual Pass for $399 (plus tax) compared to the regular price of $559, a savings of $160.

If the purchase is through Member Services, you will receive a voucher that must be redeemed no later than December 31, 2013.

If you are doing the purchase or upgrade at any Park (including TTC, DTD, water parks or Epcot International Gateway) ticket or Guest Relations window you will receive live tickets. Guests must present their DVC Membership Card. They may also purchase PAPs for immediate family members residing in the same household; Adults must provide proof they reside at the same address.

Normal procedures will apply for upgrades.

Note that you cannot upgrade from a pass with a higher Gate price than $399.00 (plus tax).

Florida Residents cannot use the Monthly Payment Plan for these tickets.

Am I reading this right? $399 for a full year's annual pass, premium at that, to WDW for DVC members?

When a DLR premium pass is $649?

Thanks for catching the typo, which I have now corrected.

But it does go to show that I am not totally perfect.

Hey, it took you til mid sept to make your mistake this year.. not too shabby!! See you in a month to upgrade!

We've pretty much always bought APs. So I have no idea how this works....we will need tickets before 10/1. So for example if I buy my daughter (under 10) a 9 day hopper with water park for $392 I could go exchange that tix for an PAP for $7? Would I have to do the exchange on 10/1? Or prior? Does the tix need to have days remaining prior to the exchange?

I already have an AP voucher which I will need to use on 9/30 when I get to WDW, can I go to guest relations on 10/1 to upgrade my ticket to the prem AP. I understand I would not get a refund, no biggie but having the opportunity to have the prem AP at this cost is a great deal.

they doing anything like this for the Florida resident PAP? i know they are about the same price

I clicked on this thread to find out how the DVC could save me money at the gynecologist's. Leaving disappointed.

Cheshire, if you have vouchers for an AP, can you call member services and upgrade the voucher?

What should I do if tickets wont be used for a year or 2? Buy them when we are there in Nov and just hold onto them? Isnt there an exp date printed on the pass when you buy it? Thanks Fig.

You can't do that as it states in what you quoted (well not 2 years anyway). You must redeem the voucher by the date stated, 12/31/13. Normally vouchers have no expiration date, but to get the DVC price, you must redeem by the stated date.

You should be able to upgrade tickets to this DVC AP on or after 10/1. You should use the tickets once before upgrading. It needs to be done before you use up all the days on the ticket (generally, there are some nuances to that piece but that is the safest approach).

LOL. You're "practically perfect" cheshire. Thanks for the update, we are back in the world in October and we were trying to figure out if we were purchasing AP's

interested in this answer too!

I don't have a 'paper' voucher per se but sitting on a confirmation # I received from DVC member services for AP activation via going to will call (which I bought over a year ago before that particular price increase).

If i'm not able to switch it to a PAP by calling member services and paying the additional $ due, is there a chance of redeeming it at guest services directly? Our trip starts Sept 29th but we'll be there for Oct. 1st. Can I pay the difference for the PAP then?:scratchin

Ido have an tix bought via UT (before this year's price increase) for DH that should be workable to upgrade on 10/1 as I understand it...i hope.

Wow! So if I am reading this right, the PAP with the DVC discount is actually cheaper than the regular AP with the DVC discount! That is awesome news, I know what kind of AP I'll be buying DH this year. I can't believe the pricing, its almost as cheap as a FL seasonal pass!

The normal procedure at a window is that if they ticket you are upgrading to costs less than the ticket that you have, we will not give a refund.

If you currently have a will-call for a DVC regular or premium AP I would suggest calling Member Services and see if they can do something for you. Note the adjustment for purchase, if any, can only be done between October 1 and December 31 this year.

I don't know if Member Services will be able to do this.

What do you mean by "buy hem when we are there"? If you go to a park or DTD, you will be buying an activated PAP and the clock will start ticking that day. They will expire one year later.

It sounds like you want to buy a voucher (or get a confirmation number and use will call) and pick up the actual PAP later. To do that, you need to call MS or buy the PAP online through the DVC Member website. I don't know if they still mail out vouchers but if they do, there is an extra charge for that. There is no extra charge if you use "will call". You will have until Dec 31, 2013 to pick up the actual PAP at WDW, by exchanging the voucher or providing the confirmation number (will call).

Slightly different question about this. If someone has a AP voucher in hand or had planned to use will call for an AP already purchased, can they leave that in the system for another year and buy this reduced price PAP now? In other words, is there a time limit on how long you can have an existing AP order sitting in the system (or a voucher sitting at home) before you go to will call to get the actual AP?
