Help me gain some size perspective

I want to explain the size difference between Disney and Universal to my DH, but I want to be sure that I actually have it clear in my own mind before I try to explain it to him.

We live just a few miles from Six Flags over Texas and have season passes there (so it is a good point of reference for both of us). I am picturing one Six Flags park as roughly equivalent size-wise to one of the Universal parks. So US and IOA would be like moving Six Flags Fiesta Texas up from San Antonio and plopping it down next to Six Flags over Texas in Arlington (?) How long does it actually take to walk from one park to the other?

I have read several posts referring to the close proximity of the on-site hotels to the parks ... but just how close is "close"? Are they a 5 minute walk? A 15 minute walk? More?

Thanks for any input.

a 5 minute walk between the two parks.

look at www.universalorlando.com for the layout of the parks.

Yep, the parks are super close. Five minutes from US entry to IoA entry. This makes it really easy to park hop.

It's been about 5 years since I was at Six Flags over Texas, but I think it's bigger than IoA or US. I think IoA and US are also easier to navigate, I always got lost at Six Flags over Texas.

5-7 minutes between the parks. We walked from RPH to the parks every time and it took between 10 and 15 minutes depending on which park you hit. That's a pace where we're passing many people bunch not rushing to be first in line anywhere pace

The two Six Flags parks that I have been to are definitely not well laid-out. It's very easy to think you are on the path to a particular attraction and then end up at a dead end.:confused3 Leaving you no choice but to retrace your steps and try to figure out where that arrow on the sign you followed is really telling you to go.

Glad to hear US and IoA are a bit smaller than Six Flags and a big "yea!" for easier to navigate. My DH is always overwhelmed at WDW (he is directionally challenged anyway, so he almost always gets turned around in the parks). Maybe if we split up to take the boys in two different directions we will actually be able to find each other again later.
