A Bunch of Smaller Contracts?

I was reading another thread about buying a bunch of smaller contracts. So what happens if you do? For example, you own 50 points each at 3 different locations. What if you wanted to use all 150 points at one of your home resorts? How does that work? Are the contracts linked or is there some sort of borrowing involved?

Thanks for the help!

You can't combine contracts at different resorts prior to the 7 month mark. We own small contracts at 4 different resorts and use them for split stays. It gives us the ability to book at the 11 month mark and not have to worry about availability. With banking and borrowing you can get enough points to have several nights in a row at the same resort.

The negative to using all 3 contracts to add up to the 150 is you won't be able to book at 11 months, only at 7 because you are combining points from different home resorts. Instead you bank and borrow for each resort and rotate the order in which you use them. You can use up to 3 years points at one time if you bank and borrow correctly. Read my post explaining it in the other thread. Not a bad plan if you like more then one resort.

How do you like those split stays, and what is the amount of time (on average) that you are out of one room before you are in the next on check out/check in day?

We are set with our ownership at BLT, but might do split stays in another year or so to really check out some other resorts. My brother is also considering buying in and has a slew of questions. I'd like to be able to sit with him in 1 sitting and break everything down for him without him asking 3 questions a day for 2 weeks:rotfl:

Our largest split stay was 4 resorts with 4 or 5 days per resort. Too much moving so now we lowered our limit to 2 split stays per vacation maximum. Next year we are 14 days at BWV and 7 at VWL.

we had a split stay from BLT to WL & another trip from BWV to OKW. they will move your luggage & store your groceries. rooms were not ready till late afternoon & once 11 at night. we waited by the pool, then the lobby & were exhausted. once we got the room, a bag of groceries was lost. never came over from the other resort. i try to schedule epcot day after moving-split stay in case i need a grand marnier slushie. :ssst:

We have done split stays a number of times. We just drop the bags with Bell Services and tell them which resort. We also call Bell Services at the new resort to give them a "heads up" although I don't think that is necessary. The bags generally arrived at the new resort by 4:00 PM which pretty much corresponds with what our "room available" check-in times I've been recently.
