Here's the thing about people standing at the railings...

We've been to the party 3 times. Twice in the front row, once in the back.

The time we were in the back was July 3 and the park was crazy. People did go up to the railings about 20 minutes early, but no one seemed to mind. Everyone was up there, there was plenty of room. We were all glad NOT to be in the park craziness.

The second time we were in the front row. People went up to the railing, but we didn't care. The fireworks are IN THE SKY ;) We could see everything perfectly fine sitting at our table eating delicious chocolate covered strawberries :thumbsup2

The third time we were in the front again, but it was during a hurricane so like a PP said, no one wanted to stand at the railing. It did let up for a little bit during TMTMAY so a few people did walk up to the railing. This blocked our view because it's on the castle and it was harder to see since it was lower than the fireworks, but we still enjoyed and could see most of it just fine.

Well the way many explain it as being orderly and not crowded...etc made us book it. We've only see a few bad reviews....so I'm sure we'll be fine :)

I think you'll love it. It's totally worth the price, imo, even if you have a (gasp!) second row table and people choose to stand at the railing.

I think we will still try to book the DP once December becomes available. Although that IS our day when we have Le Cellier AND BOG booked on the same day :scratchin I can only hope we are able to move one of those ressies (although I will not hold my breath on that one)! I forgot we'll be able to see Holiday Wishes perfectly fine while we're at MVMCP. The only thing holding me back is missing MSEP while at the DP and I'll have to weigh that fact. Even if they announce a second MSEP on tuesday (late EMH at MK)...we'll be at Epcot on an Illuminations cruise and that is non-negotiable. I do wish they could do MSEP on party nights! That would solve all my issues at least when it comes to this subject ;)

I totally agree with u in regards to MSEP! I wish they had this parade more than 3x a week! But for what it's worth, I chose the dessert party over MSEP... (and am hoping to see part of the parade from the railings) :)

This will be my first time at DW and I´d like to book Dessert Party.
Could anynone tell me when it will available for booking for 25 through 29th March 2013?

Last year, March 2012 Dessert Party tickets were available for purchase on Tuesday, Jan 17th.......I would start checking in early January 2013 for your dates :)

I booked the DP for my MVMCP night and I am curious why you feel it is not necessary on a party night? I have never attended a party but I was under the impression that they sell so many tickets to the parties now that it is very busy in the park
Those evenings until after the 1st parade and the fireworks when people then start leaving?

My comment was actually regarding the MSEP and the fact that they don't hold it on days when they have MVMCP. I said I wished they would have the MSEP on party nights, before closing the park to the party.......but now that you mention it, I'm not sure I would want to attend the DP during my MVMCP and here is why: I've already paid $60ish each for MVMCP....then I pay an additional fee for the DP? This will be our first MVMCP and I anticipate being in lines for character M&Gs and seeing things that you can't get any other time. I'm still working through the logistics of those lines and the timing. I realize I will be stopped wherever I am to watch Holiday Wishes, of course. That being said, I really think the desserts look great and I hope I'm able to attend the DP while we are there in Dec.

We did it during a party night last year and plan to do the same this year. We have two little kids and always hit the early 8:15 parade and then we'll try to book the 9pm dessert party. We enjoyed doing it this way last year. The desserts are great and it's nice to not have to fight for a good view of the fireworks.

Does the time of your reservation effect your table location? I have heard that it is based on when you made the reservation. I made the reservation within 24 hours of opening for my November date so I think I should have a good table location. However my reservation time was for 9:10pm. Will the later time have any effect on my table location. There are still times available for 9pm for my date. Would you call and change your time?

Anyone ever have a later time and still get a front row? Even Though you reserved early.

I am waiting for Dec to open but wanted to chime in re: the railing. Honestly last couple years we have been in the front row for a table of two. Even though people do tend to go to the railing the view is still unbeatable and I can't say enough about not having to navigate the crowds. Even though we were in the front, we moved to the railing to see Tink fly over head. Absolutely the best reason to do the Party imho. I always miss her or can't see her when we are in a different location!

Regardless, the dessert party is a wonderful way to get away and relax for awhile.

Is the Desert Party available on Christmas party nights? Has anyone done this? If so, could you tell me about your experience? Dec DP nights are not
showing up yet.

Thanks
Eric

Yes the DP is held on party nights, if you look at the Dec calendar it is slated for every night except 12/30 & 12/31 as of now. First time going this year during MVMCP

what calendar are you looking at?

The calendar where you book the party online under "dining events"

The party is not yet able to be booked expect that towards the end of this month/beginning of Oct. Nov dates just opened up on 9/2

Waiting on the Dec party to open (only need that and airfare!). We are debating on doing a MVMCP night or non party night....any thoughts as to why one would be better than another? I was just thinking of "wasting" party time at the Desert Party.

I've done the Wishes Dessert Party the last two years on a MVMCP night, and personally, I love it. My theory is, I'm going to slow down and take a break from the rides to watch Wishes...why not do it in a controlled, non-crowded venue, where I can sit down for awhile and enjoy some yummy, delicious desserts? After the show is over, I can then make may way back out into the crowds for more fun...
